How would you rate Lee's Flower Shop?
Great service, great flowers! Their Happy Hour on Fridays is the best! They have 50% off cut flower from 3-6!
We always get great flowers from them.
I had to add 1 star to write a review. I would not give them any stars. They are over priced, lie, & provide poor service. I complained about a funeral arrangement I asked them to make. I provided pictures & gave instructions... The product did not come out as I requested. I was so embarrassed about the funeral arrangement I removed my name from the flowers. It was tacky... No one could believe I was charged $555.13 for the end result. I will never patronize Lee's Florist and would never recommend them. If I can figure out how to load photos I would show you what they sent to a funeral. They didn't even put a bow on the flowers
HORRIBLE! They charged $10 a piece to fill up some balloons after telling me over the phone that it was $2 a piece! They then claimed I was lying! Terrible customer service!
We have been using Lee's for the past 9 years for everything from weddings to Mother's Day to funerals. We have also requested their amazing flowers in our cafes/shops when dignitaries visit. I can't say enough about the level of detail and attention that went into each order. I highly recommend them. Super professional.
A few months ago I was going on a 2nd date with a girl I really liked. I figured why not, I'll stop by and grab flowers on the way to the date. The staff there hand picked some flowers for me after I suggested some colors because, leave it to the pros right? Months later we are dating and the conversation of flowers came up. The 2nd date flowers came up, and she said "I didn't want to tell you, but all of the flowers your brought me that night were completely dead!" Given that I picked them up 30 minutes before the date, this let's me know that the staff picked me dead flowers! Shame on me for not knowing better, and shame on the flower pros for picking these. It's kind of just a funny story for us now, but I won't be returning! I guess it really is the thought that counts! Lol
Superb Customer Service!!
The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable, We were making the bouquets for a wedding (first time) the staff offered us helpful ideas, the bouquets turned out AWESOME!
We talked to a variety of florists before choosing Lees Flowers. Stacie, the owner, took the time to sit down with us and really create our vision. Coupled by the fact they are a local longstanding business on U St and their very reasonable prices, Lees was the perfect choice for our flowers.
The staff was very attentive to my emails leading up to the wedding day and everything was on time and accounted for day of. It goes without saying, but the bouquets were beautiful and really made our pictures pop!
Lee's Flowers is an institution in DC and one that is well worth patronizing. Although I have patronized it in the past, I often defaulted to buying flowers on line when needed. However, I made a point of going in the shop not too long ago after receiving the most wonderful card from my daughter.
It was an extremely unique and moving card and one that I have not seen elsewhere. I wanted to buy a similar card for my mother. Upon going into the shop I was greeted by the most pleasant ambiance. The shop was newly renovated with a variety of interesting plants, flowers, vases, etc.
It was sleek and inviting, and the young lady at the register was really helpful.
I not only found a wide range of cards, but to my surprise they carried skin and hair products by one of my favorite brands (Zuresh). Needless to say I have gone back frequently.
I am a 3rd generation Washingtonian. It was such a delight to go into Lee's Flowers and Card Shop, a long standing African American owned business that has weathered the changes on U Street and is as competitive or more than any flower or specialty card shop in DC or elsewhere.
If any one is wondering whether this is a real review. It is. I do not write reviews of businesses too often. But Lee's deserves it. If you doubt it, check out the flower happy hour on Friday afternoons where you can buy items at a discount. You'll see!
Amazing staff, so helpful and knowledgeable. Works for all budgets as well
Stacie was wonderful as she helped me design the florals and centerpieces for my wedding. Everything was perfect! Lee's has a beautiful history and remarkable staff. I highly recommend for you every day and special occasion florals.

Great service help me with everything coming from cleveland to dc
I ordered flowers to be delivered to my mom yesterday for her bday & at 6pm my mom hadn't received anything. So she went outside to find the flowers on the porch. She said she had been downstairs all day & no one knocked or rang the doorbell. I left delivery instructions to "knock hard because the recipient is partially handicapped" when I placed the order, and there's a note on the door to knock hard because the doorbell doesn't work. I called the store & got a lot of attitude from Joy who went back & forth with me insisting the driver knocked because "that's their policy"...as if everyone follows policies. She then placed me to call the drivern and then said, "he said he did knock, no one answered & then took a picture, so that was his proof". So he took a pic of him knocking????? Yeah, right. Again my mom said no one knocked on her door all day. The back & forth, the lack of empathy, being unapologetic, not accepting fault and the attitude was appalling. The fact that Joy went back & forth with me was absurd. Bad customer service + attitude = me NEVER spending my money here again. Too bad the owners are friends of my dad, 1 of whom is an old school friend.
I live in the neighborhood and buy flowers here every 2-4 weeks. In the year that I've been a customer I've noticed that while the prices continue to climb, the size and quality of the arrangements continue to fall.
Today was the new low; $29 for a haphazard arrangement of a dozen 15 cent flowers; time to find a new florist.
Friendly helpful shop have wonderful flowers for any occasion
The BEST flower shop in DC. What makes Lee's Flower Shop so great is its staff - they are always so willing to help, and they are so creative in making the perfect bouquet! They really get to know their customers, and they'll remember you when you come back. Lee's is a true staple in the neighborhood!
Beautiful flowers plants and people!
Just brought two small succulents and brown girl pots for my room.
Great service. Keep it up.
Lovely place. Respectful customer service. Smiles all day
The place to go for all beautiful flowers and arrangements
This place was really nice. The florists were so pleasant and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. A variety of flowers and plants with cute unique pots. I’m a new to the plant game and they gave me some good nuggets of info to do to keep my plants healthy. I’m def going back for their Friday specials on plants. Loved going in that little shop. Now go in there and pick up something nice for your dining room table🥰
The shop honored my request to deliver as late as possible, but what I am really impressed with is the quality of the flowers. After a whole hour of looking at reviews online, this seemed like the most promising place for my birthday delivery in DC. They did not disappoint... Phew. Would recommend this place for the quality of the products.
I was THRILLED with the bridal bouquet Lee's Flowers provided for my wedding. I was able to share a few photos of the vision I had in mind and they exceeded every expectation. Thank you so much for the excellent customer service and beautiful flowers!
