How would you rate Tougo Coffee Co?
This is maybe my favorite coffee shop in Seattle. They usually have a really nice single origin option for espresso and they do an amazing job of getting maximal good flavors from it! They also have one of the better selections of micro roaster whole beans. Also really like the non-pretentious staff. Highly recommended!
Great coffee, knowledgeable baristas, quality selection of whole beans, and a play area for the kids.

The owner is completely nuts and attacks his customers. This scumbag owner comes up to me while I am just quietly working on my laptop, minding my own business and starts harassing me. I was in his coffeeshop maybe for a whole 45 minutes and he harasses me saying I am wasting precious space in his coffeeshop by sitting here working on my laptop and plugging it in. I paid $8 w/tips for 3 small 12 oz cups of coffee. It probably costs him $0.50 to make each cup of coffee. THerefore, I was a paying customer and paying quite a bit for the coffee.
He comes up to me saying he has to discuss some weird issue with me as to why I am plugging in my laptop. I guess a friend of his decided to get in on the attack, despite the fact she had her laptop plugged in the whole time too.
It was obvious to me that the whole issue had nothing to do with plugging into a laptop. I'm thinking possibly it had to do with my Semitic features and the fact that I am Jewish. I cannot be sure about that, but I don't know what to think? I also in the decade and a half of going to coffeeshops have ever been harassed and attacked in this way! You would think a person would appreciate a person supporting his business, instead of treating them like a piece of dog crap? Even after I apologized and said I would unplug the laptop and tried explaining why I needed my battery hogging computer plugged in, this scumbag owner keeps harassing me, saying it was not the point. I was like what is the point, I am a paying customer, why cannot you just let me be in peace?
After harassing me and intimidating me, he then calls me an a$$hole and tells me I have to leave. I immediately get up and start packing my bags and he acts like he won't let me take my laptop, saying GET OUT.. I said I am leaving, I need my laptop. I then proceed to tell him that I believe the harassment has nothing to do with a stupid laptop being plugged in.
I cannot think in my head any other reason why this jerk would keep harassing me and insulting me. He was trying to force me to apologize for something and nothing I said would make him happy. I felt afraid and violated.
I'm going to see what I can do to take legal action against his harassment and intimidation against me.
It is not worth it for the overpriced coffee and deranged owner who thinks tormenting his subjects (or customers) is acceptable form of business. If he doesn't like the way you look you better expect him to harass, humiliate and intimidate you as he did to me.
I am also going to call his coffee suppliers Kuma and Velton's and tell them they should no longer sell their wonderful coffee to this jerky and racist guy who gives these wonderful roasters a bad name.
