How would you rate The Harlem School of the Arts?
My granddaughter who is five attends Saturday classes here. She loves it! The teachers are great, the facilities are very nice. Classes are a good size and the children are excited about what they are accomplishing.
We love HSA!!! The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. The students are extremely professional. The President Eric Pryor is doing a wonderful job affording the students with exposure and professional experiences. My daughter loves the Dorothy Manor Choir and very excited about Theater Prep. If you're looking for a rich arts program, give HSA a try.
Watch out for some events, like art exhibits, performance arts, and more. Contact the Visual Arts Director for any upcoming events.
My younger brother D. Pullen II was a student of the school and I watched him perform in numerous recitals....
It can be pricey. The place is very crowded and busy with little seating options for waiting parents. Overall my daughter enjoyed taking classes there
I love this school because they offer so many different classes that there's a place for each child. My daughter loves this school because she enjoys dancing ballet and contemporary dance. One of the perks about the dance department is part that they're part of The American Ballet School which is a plus. It's one of the very few schools in the Uptown Manhattan area that offers art enrichment for children at a reasonable price.
My daughter loves HSA. She always looks forward to her ballet and tap classes.

They have a comprehensive arts program and the instructors are highly qualified and trained. A very nice enviornment for yoing and mature students. With such a rich history, its going to be interesting see the development as gentrification presses on.
