How would you rate The Breakfast Klub?
The Breakfast Klub is a great Midtown restaurant serving up soulful food for years. What it lacks in space, it makes up for in service and taste. Unlike many people who complain about the line, I subscribe to the idea that good things come to those who wait. My standby is french toast and wings, but I always nibble off of a friend's catfish and grits when I can. I splurge on the bottled sweet tea and lemonade every once in awhile. I never eat off the lunch menu when I go during the week, but I wouldn't think anything could be bad. Definitely a place I take all out-of-towners and it's a great first date spot! The line gives time to talk and the food leaves time to process the line conversation -- perfect!
Loved this place! Great Service. Line is pretty long but worth the wait. The manager is exceptional. Allowed me to change my order without issue, he was the bomb! The customer service was amazing. The greater, older lady, knew the people I was with from their previous visits..very welcoming. I had the catfish and grits, although a little salty and buttery but hey what do you expect for a great southern breakfast! I am new to Houston and it was one of the must go to spots in Texas so I recommend it to anyone that visits!
Came here after my girlfriend had their chicken and waffles and raved about it. The plate was good but too expensive for me. The waiting in line and prices are not worth it in my opinion. The chicken kinda taste like pollo campero chicken. The line goes by fast and the service is quick. Mostly self serve.
Incredible food, very down to earth owners who are very hands on ( admirable) GREAT general manager Terry is also very awesome and hands on ( he wiped up my spilled syrup himself) he remembers your face after one outing, the cashier suggested jerry cakes and then came over after my meal to see if I enjoyed them. Speaking of the food...those jerry cakes ( crunchy pancakes) were the best I've ever had, hot the entire time you are eating them/huge/ you get your money's worth here. Great homemade lemonade and tea ( they won't give out their secrets) and nice thick pieces of bacon...I mostly eat the breakfast here. All in all, great place to eat!!!!!!!
This iconic location always has a line. So be prepared when you visit. But the wait is worth it though. I've had their chicken and waffles and fried catfish. Both were flawless. I would say that there are only a few places in Houston that I could find better fried catfish.
It's a bit pricey though so it's not a place to go very often, but it definitely is a place you should try at least once. You won't regret it.
No mere character count could ever describe the phenomenal "cultural experience" that The Breakfast Klub delivers to their external family of loyal patrons!! The warmth begins right from the front door, and once you see all those beautiful smiles and uber professionals a midst the artsy, intimate atmosphere you exhale with peace as most times, your entree makes it to your table even before you do!! Uber SERVICE and EXCELLENT Corporate Partners!! - Mauda Vercher, CEO CorporateChick Entertainment
Food is okay but
certaintly not worth the wait
so sneak in early

The customer service was great. I was greeted at the door when I walked in and when I walked out!!! The food was AWESOME. I had catfish, grits, pototoes and a biscuit! One of my kids had chicken and waffles and my other kid had french toast, bacon and pototoes!!! Thumbs up Breakfast Klub!!!
I love the food. The line was long, you talk amongst the people in the line. Once you place your order at the counter it wasn't a long wait for your food. I live in Austin, Tx. I'm ready to go to this place again. I had the chicken n waffles with grits, country potatoes and toast.....1 biscuit and a big piece of catfish. I wanted to sample everything I liked. The portions are big (4 me). The cashiers were nice and the lil lady outside passing around the menus is Hilarious. When in Houston, TX again this will be my place to go from here on out.
Very delicious food and wonderful service. The line looks intimidating at first because it is literally out the door, but it was worth the wait. Clean establishment and expedient service.
This place has delicious breakfast food, you can't deny that. They're famous for their chicken and waffles as well as the catfish and grits; both of them do not disappoint. With that said, I do not normally recommend people visiting Houston to hit up The Breakfast Klub. The hype around the restaurant is way too much and there is only so much you can do with the staple breakfast foods they are famous for. The Saturday and Sunday morning waits are absurd. Love the food, but way too much hype.
Excellent. Courteous and respectful staff. Clean dining and kitchen. Food is far above average and they couks tone down the spice a bit... but thats just my personal take on it, dont let thag statement influence you not eating here. Prices are generally high for the choice of foods, but the experience makes it worth dining here.
I was waiting for a friend, and the hostess brought me a chicken wing while I waited! That was so nice... I haven't tried the food yet but the get 5 stars for service and friendliness!
Tasty food yes. Outrageous prices. The folks are friendly, the food is good you have to get your own drinks, silverware, and wait on yourself after you wait in a line to get in.
I think this is better to go on a weekday.
Delicious Southern food.
Was pleasently surprised, had the chicken and waffles. All the staff is super friendly and the place is quite nice.
The price is a bit high for the single $ of Google, $10-$15. And the wait might be crazy on a weekend. But definetly worth going.
Aside for the sky rocket prices for breakfast, the food is always on point! Pork chops and eggs every time! I will not wait in the insane line though. Early mornings on weekdays makes the dining experience nice!
Dinner is very interactive and lots of showmanship going on. First, we were given a small sealed envelope that we have to open up with a knife we were given. Inside there are two cards, one for me and one for the bf. We then need to pick between Apple, maple, cranberry and celery for the theme of each of our dinner. Hmm mm. We wondered how that would pan out. I picked celery and he picked Apple. More on that later.
The best!!!! Omg. The best food. Love it. Everyone is so nice.
Went there today for my birthday and I loved it. Been wanting to go here for a minute. The lady at the door was so nice she held a spot for me at the front because my friends were there waiting for me and I wasn't trying to wait in that line. The rest of the staff was nice and so funny. I order the wings with the pancakes and the pancakes were huge and the wings were great. I didn't even finish the whole thing and I believe it was like $16 which is reasonable. They also gave me a muffin for my birthday. I would recommend this place but the lines are long and the parking kinda sucks
I was in town for a conference and had heard so much about the place, my fiance and I made it our business to have breakfast there on 8/5/2015. To our surprise we walked right in with no wait and the lady who greeted us and took our order was nice as was the others gathered behind the counter. We ordered and was seating and admiring the atmosphere and glad to see a successful business. We got our food which was in huge portions and very good. My fiance complained about price but once he got his food he was like it was worth it. As we exited we saw the Steve Harvey trophy and wanted to read the plaques on the wall. As we were reading a family walked in and we moved to let them pass as an older short lady comes up and says people you are blocking our like and we need people to get through. She ruined an almost perfect trip as me and my fiance apologized to the family which said you are not in our way all we have to do is go this way and that was just one of the family members as we had already let the others by. Mind you I am 5 months pregnant. There was no one else in line and there was no line to move along. My fiance would not allow me to say anything to the rude lady but she spoiled the entire trip.
The Breakfast Klub catered my daughters wedding reception and did an outstanding job. The food was excellent and they took amazing care of us. I would use them again in a heartbeat.
By definition, this place is overrated, i.e. to rate, value, or praise (someone or something) too highly. I got their signature dish (chicken and waffles) and it was good but not worth the wait in line or the price. The chicken was a tad bit too salty and waffles were just okay. Nowadays, there are plenty of places around Houston serving chicken and waffles, or better yet, chicken and donuts (Max's Wine Dive and Weights + Measures).
So Good ! Everything we ordered was delicious. I loved this place very much . Good place to share food with friends and sample a bit of everything. Friendly spot on service.
A bit close to tables around us, but no biggie.
Phenomenal eats! Most breakfast plates cost $14.99. Add in gourmet coffee for $2.50 and breakfast will cost you just under $20 per person. The lines are usually LONG on weekends, but if you go on a weekday the wait is about 15 minutes. Parking is crazy! I circled the block a number of times before I found a spot. I ordered the Katfish & Grits with toast. I also had the Kosta Rican coffee. Delicious! Let me tell you this meal was worth price & all the parking craziness. Highly recommend you try out this spot that's doing breakfast with a Southern flair.
This place is overrated! I have tasted better catfish and breakfast in other restaurants in Houston. It's ridiculous how high on price their beverages are. The only nice person was the lady greeting at the door but once you get to the cashier to place your order you might get a different face and not very helpful on first timers.
So I went here for my birthday and I got the chicken and waffles with a lemonade .. The food was amazing and the lemonade is so good .. The staff was so nice OMG I had to write a review ! I had left before they could sing happy birthday to me the lady chased after me to give my free desert and wish me a happy birthday .. They are seriously the nicest women ever ! 💖💖
They should rename it the "I Hate Whitey Cafe"! I felt like a ping pong ball in a tub of chocolate pudding. I felt so uncomfortable going in there due to all of the African-American murals on the building and all of the African-Americans staring at me (Yes, they were glaring at me as if I came in there wearing a Klan outfit and waving a Conrederate flag!) the moment I walked through the door. If there was any music playing, I'm sure it would have stopped playing the moment I walked through the door! I dared not stay there and order anything, in fear of having them spitting in my food! I felt as welcome as a cat in an aviary.
Had to try the hype! And was let down. Chicken and Waffles is probably best thing on the menu. Bacon, Sausage, potatoes stuff you wouldn't think could be subpar are here. To end on a good note the service and staff are very nice and food came out super fast. Probably the fastest for any restaurant!
A Houston staple that all visitors check out when in town... Great coffee, friendly service, and southern comfort meals (chicken and waffles, catfish and grits, etc.) are some of the reasons that people wait in line outside waiting for a table. A must try! #supportLocalBusinesses
Breakfast is one of my favorite meals of the day because it gets you started and trust me this place has to be one of the Best Breakfast/Lunch spots in Houston. They have early morning hours and the food is fresh and yummy! The menu isn't too complex and offers the best traditional style breakfast options like Eggs Benedict, Pancakes, Homemade Biscuits and Gravy. It also showcases the true style of a Southern Breakfast with options like Catfish and Grits, Chicken Wings and Waffles, and Southern Sweet Tea. The staff is very friendly and helpful with letting you know that ALL of the food is good! Great local Art on the walls and it feels like an open community setting right near Downtown! The owners are always around and make sure to say hello like you are a long time friend! My family loves this place and its always a top choice when we have out of town visitors, even if there is a line, it moves quickly and is well worth the wait! Great Food, Great People!
My wife and I went here on a Saturday morning, and enjoyed the experience very much. If you're looking for high class, 'fine dining' this is not for you.
But if you're looking for some really good, down-to-earth breakfast in a friendly, casual atmosphere, then this is a must-see restaurant, especially for breakfast or brunch. We went for breakfast, and I was pleasantly full of really good breakfast food.
Highly recommend for an amazing, savory meal.
P.S. My wife and I didn't feel out of place for being non-African American. We were friendly, and so was the staff. I'm not understanding why you felt that way, brhoades0970. Maybe it was an off-day...?
It's reputation precedes it. The line is worth the wait. Some argue that it is pricey for breakfast (it's definitely a sometimes treat for me and my budget) but the quality of the the food more than makes up for it.
Absolutely LOVED IT! ... It was the best experience I've ever had In A restaurant setting. Yes , when I arrived the line was long, but it moved quickly. One you made in inside there's a really nice lady standing there offering you a menu, asking if it's your first time; giving you a rundown on what's good..(which was everything!!!) . I ordered the waffles and chicken wings, it was ALOT of food for the $16 (I also had a drink) ...The wings were seasoned to perfection.. You don't even need ketchup! Haha. ... And the waffles were hot and fresh. Bottom line is recommend this place to anyone!!
I've been coming here for years and I must tell you that there is a good reason why they have long lines wrapped around the building.
The food is unique in that they have their own flavorings and they were the first to introduce me, family and friends to katfish and grits and wings and waffles, 2 signature dishes that you must try!
The BK is not just a nice restaurant with good food. It's a comfort zone that reminds you of home. The owner walks around just like the manager to make sure everyone is satisfied with their experience. The decor reminds you of history and the music is calming and catchy at the same time.
I enjoy coming here when I have a day off!
Visiting from Virginia on Valentine's Day weekend. This place and staff was awesome. Great food and southern hospitality! Plus free parking!!! My reason for not giving it 5 stars is only because the sweet tea did not come with free refills. Btw the sweetest tea ever!!! Really delicious
This place has a line out the door the whole time it's open but they move through it rather quickly. As soon as you walk up GET IN LINE. Some one will walk out, hand you a menu and explain how things are done. This place is known for it's wings, waffles and grits. I wasn't prepared for the price of the food considering it is only one price tag. I would consider this place two price tags due to the fact that a breakfast sandwich, two coffees, grits and a two egg breakfast came to 35 dollars. I'm not saying I didn't my experience the staff and even the patrons were freaking fantastic but be prepared to spend a bit more than a country breakfast usually costs.
I've known people who have flown into Houston just to get a chance to eat these chicken and waffles. They are that good. Catfish and grits are also very, very good. Keep your eye out for the weekly lunch specials too. Chicken-fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans on Thursdays are a favorite. Friendly service, pleasant atmosphere. Long lines especially on weekends and during the lunch rush, but the food and hospitality here is worth it.
I've been twice in the past two weeks! I love the breakfast especially the French toast! Everyone that works there is so nice. Also the general manager had stopped at our table every time making sure we are satisfied. This is definitely a favorite spot for me and my family!
Love this place!! This is a must EVERY time I'm in Houston. Fav dish: Wings & Waffles. The line may look long, but it moves quickly and it's worth the wait! Service is excellent as well.
Chicken and waffles AMAZING. I really like that they have a syrup station too so your food doesn't get soggy. Chicken's seasoning is on point too. Oh so there's always a line for this place, because yes it's that good, so try to go early on a week day if possible. There's a breakfast cafe behind the place that offers their speciality items. So if you're going for the chicken and waffles, you can skip the line for the cafe. Enjoy!
I'm so happy I made a wrong turn, service was oh so polite and helpful and the food woooow wings are outstanding down to the hot buttery toast. What a way to start tha day .
Came here on a Thursday morning and there was no wait and plenty of room. Also a small parking lot out front and hidden out back.
I got the Wings and Waffles and my gf ordered the waffle with strawberries and eggs. The whole process is quick and easy, you walk in and order and pay. Then sit where ever you please. You get your own drinks, cutlery etc, refill whenever you want and as many times.
The food didn't take too long to come out and it was all amazing! The whole place had a great southern atmosphere which is exactly what i was imagining coming from Australia.
Prices were reasonable and food was amazing.
The food, the service, and the atmosphere is EXCELLENT. Well worth the wait. Don't let the line scare you, it moves quickly. Complimentary iced water while you wait. Menus are given in line so you know what you want ahead of time. Thumbs up Terry (general manager) my dinning experience is always a pleasure.
Came at 9am on a Saturday, line moved rather quickly, took about 15 minutes. Disco music blaring quite loud in and outside, very loud inside also with the tons of people yelling over the music.
You order at a counter, pay, then make your own drink and try to find an open table.
Food was average.. not horrible, but not the greatest in Houston by a longshot. My omelette and potatoes were *very* salty, biscuit had a taste I disliked but couldn't quite figure out why.
Overall, about the same breakfast you get at any other place in town, just salty, overpriced, and pretentious. I wouldn't go back if it were up to me.
The wait in line was not too bad but it'll deter visitors at first site. The way the restaurant is setup is like a well oiled Machine you place your order before you even get into the restaurant and by the time you get seated your food is out in less than 5 mins. The food was excellent but there is no real service to speak of. And the price is a bit high. But it's all positive in the end.
Yes, 5 stars is what this review has to be. And honestly the service was just as good as the food was. Our waitress(forgot her name I'm ashamed to say) was friendly, knowledgeable and was bouncing around like a kangaroo. Our group had simple omelettes, but the star of the show were biscuits the size of a brick. Those alone are with the trip.
I LOVE Coming to this place... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! =)
I went here for my birthday brunch in April 2016. I ordered the pork chop breakfast. It was delicious. The portions were so big that I had to take some home! The staff were attentive, polite, and friendly. My guests and I really enjoyed ourselves! I'll definitely be back!!
This place is soooo good! My husband and I have been trying to go here the past couple times we were in Houston but when we drove by the line seemed like the wait was really long. Well, today we decided to wait ( which was only about 15 min) and it was the best breakfast EVER. The food comes out super quick once you order. I got the wings and waffles and they were AMAZINGGGG!!!!! Y'all, this chicken is PURE PERFECTION!!!!! The wings are perfectly battered & juicy and the seasoning is phenomenal! My husband got the pancake platter and it was wonderful as well (they had a perfect hint of vanilla in them). We also got a couple side items to try (the biscuit and the potatoes) and both were yummy!!! We will be going back!!!!! Thanks for a perfect breakfast this morning Breakfast Klub!!!! :D
If I could eat here everyday I would! The catfish and grits are phenomenal! They also offer a nice selection of coffee. Definitely one of the best places to eat in Houston!
Well it is 8:45 Friday morning and there is a line out the door. I ordered the waffle plate which included eggs and sausage. It was very tasty. You walk in , look at the menu and order at a register, then you get your own condiments, silverware, napkins etc. and find a seat. The place is not huge so finding a seat could be a problem, but watching people they pretty much eat and go. The food came out very fast about 10 min or less. Two breakfast plates with coffee was $38.00. Overall it was a nice experience.
Food was good, little on the pricier side, but the portions made up for that.
Had "the breakfast Klub" sandwich. Lots of meat, plus the bread was nice and buttery.
Manager even came by and asked us how we enjoyed everything and if it was our first time, which it was. Very nice!
Went on a Sunday and feared the line, we called ahead and there was no wait.
Person on the phone told us it starts to get busy around 9-9:30 so get there early!
The service at this restaurant is amazing ! I came here while visiting from Miami and at first I thought I can't believe I'm standing in a line that runs outside for food . They were super fast by the time I ordered and got to my table tge food was there and let me tell you the BEST Chicken and Waffles I have ever tasted I would stand in line for hours if I had to that's how good the food was !
Service is quick and staff is super nice. Owner comes around to everyone and says hello. Chicken and Waffles are some of the best I've had. I've had Gladys Knight's chicken and waffles in Atlanta. This is just as good or better. Their coffee is also really good as well. No picture cause we are our food so fast :)
I've eaten here several times and I've always been pleased with the service. The way it usually works goes as follows. You arrive, stand in a very long line but it moves pretty fast, you receive excellent service and a smile when you order, then you seat yourself and the food comes out within 3 to 4 minutes. This last time that I went, the cashier was not nice at all and he's taken my order before so I know that he's friendly (but I'll let that slide since we all have bad days). Then instead of seating myself, the damn waiter forced me to sit where he wanted me to sit. The food comes out and to my surprise the French toast was MUCH SMALLER than usual. I asked if they'd changed the size and the waiter says maybe they did, but I don't know because I'm not a French toast person. What the hell? They made sure to keep the price the same though. I don't mind that the breakfast Klub is overpriced. I pay for the portion/ amount of food that I receive, the excellent service, and the location. Needless to say, things are changing at this establishment and not for the better. I will not be returning.
Their hospitality is stellar; the staff is so friendly! The food is DELICIOUS! There are two buildings. The line was long for the first building, but there were outdoor heaters. A staff member came over to tell us to come to building number two. The wait was short for both food and to be seated. A wonderful experience!
The wait in line wasn't that bad and plus they had a dude taking your order while you was in line, a perfect way to make the line to flow in a fast pace. And also while we was getting our condiments, the waiter came out with our food and he stood there with our food til we was seated, our number was #9. I had to give guys a 5 star rating and plus I had my favorite catfish and grits with scrambled eggs hard, they did them eggs perfectly too. I will be back soon....thanks for the good service....

Tucked away but not far away, The Breakfast Klub is a warm jazzy little spot for the hipsters, urban elite and power players who can afford to come in a little after 9 on their 9-5. The menu will make you hungry and the plates that pass you will make you hungrier as you watch generous portions of soulful southern food pass you by. Of you want a special treat, buy a muffin and the cooks will grill it for you.... Yes, you read that right... Grill it for you. I appreciate the staff of people specifically just to wait/clear the tables. I also appreciate the fact that along with salt and pepper seasoned salt is amoung the shakers. The only thing that made me wonder was for such a soulful place.... Where were all the urban people? I saw a lot of crisp ironed shirts and slacks.... Expertly cut beards and nice $35 haircuts but where were all the people this food came from? I could see some behind the counter selling the food...but not one in the dining room eating it... Where are they?
Popular breakfast and brunch spot for locals. Come early on weekends or look out for the annexed location for more seating. Super friendly staff and always delicious soul food.
Good chicken and waffles and catfish! Been here several times. I bring visitors here. Parking lot can get cramped so sometimes I just go for street parking. Don't be wary of the line, it moves fast.
Amazing food and hospitality. You will feel right at home. I had the chicken and waffles combo for the first time anywhere and I don't think I will be as satisfied anywhere else like I was here.
Very polite staff. Fast service, great food and music! Must try
This place is absolutely the best. The food is ridiculously good and seasoned to perfection.
Pack your patience on the weekends because it's going to be a wait. Once you're in, though, you will be glad you did. They have gotten better with providing shade from the sun while waiting outside, as the line will snake throughout the parking lot. Their bacon is great, and although it's been awhile since I've been there, I remember the coffee being really good. It's definitely time to go back!
The food hit the table almost before did, literally fasted delivery of food I have ever experienced.
And the flavors in every bite, brought back memories, truly delicious. Note: I do not use the word "delicious" lightly or often.
The staff greeted us at the door, showed us the menu, as they want you to know what you want to eat by the time you get to the registers. You order and pay first, collect all your own drinks, utensils, napkins, syrups & condiments yourself prior to reaching your table. Which took us all of a minute maybe two tops, food is delivered lightening fast, as perfectly cooked as one can get, with the steam still rising from it. The art on the walls was transfixing. Just a wonderful experience.
I had the catfish and grits platter. Huge serving of all portions. My husband had the chicken and waffles...we tried food each others, and both meals were excellent. It met, and possibly exceeded, the hype.
I would recommend this place to others.
Apparently, there is normally a long long wait...but the day we came there was only one group ahead of us. But we were alerted by others, that the line before you enter the building is usually long, and since it is, you need to know what you will eat rather quickly after receiving the menu at the door, quickly gather items you will need off to the left side area before entering the dining area, seat yourself, eat and move on your way, so the line that is normally outside can continue moving. It isn't NORMALLY a sit and chat for a while kind of place.
But that said, now that I have tasted the food, I could care less, if I were to wait a while outside and even slightly rushed. Which no one said the employees actually do...it's more of a polite convenience to the other customers like yourself who may be waiting outside trying to get out of whatever weather Texas is experiencing at the moment.
Comfort food! They have good breakfast selection. Big serving. Great coffee. Fast service. Attentive staff. 👍👍
At the airport, headed back to Chicago, after dining at Bro.Marcus, fine dining restaurant....The Breakfast Club. The staff, are the most friendliest people, you're going to meet in the restaurant industry and they serve you well. With that being said, the chicken and waffles, are simply scrumptious. Can't wait to go back, and try what else they have to offer. 👍
We came here on a Sunday morning, bright and early. Don't be intimidated by the long line out the restaurant. It moves very quickly. It was pouring rain when we went and we were considering not getting in line; but then one of the workers came out and started joking around with the customers. She gave us a chuckle and we said what the heck. The great thing is that you order as you enter the door, so your food is pretty much ready by the time you sit down. The waffles and fried chicken was the best waffles and chicken I have ever had, hands down. The service was also exceptional, especially for such a fun, hectic place. We took the red line train there from the medical district. Also take a look at the owner's story on the articles on the wall.
Great place to have breakfast. A must do if you live in Houston. I will admit, the line to get in is a little ridiculous, but it is well worth the wait. The service is great and the food is just awesome, you wont regret it. Also, atmosphere is a good one. Family owned and operated, so come by and support. Forgot to mention, good luck on finding a parking spot.
The best chicken (wings only rather than the option of breast/thigh/drumstick/wings) and waffles ever! The texture of the wings is most moist and juicy-phenmonal! Seriously a must-try! On the weekends there's a good line that runs outside the building but it's more than worth the wait. Great restaurant that is well kept and clean. Food comes quite fast also!
Been here many times. Fried Pork Chops are great. Chicken and Waffles are like a dream. They put 5 fried chicken wings on the most perfectly cooked waffle ever. Hot maple syrup and soft butter complete the dish. It's pricey, but worth it. Be a good person and know what you're gonna order when you get to the front of the line. Don't sit at your table for two hours either. The place is super busy and people are waiting. Cheers.
Great business owner, friendly staff, fast service (once order is placed), fresh and hot food that is extremely flavorful and satisfying to the soul.
The line is long, but worth waiting for. Great place for meeting up with friends for brunch on the weekends; chat in line while you wait.
You can also purchase waffle mix, seasonings or coffee to go and enjoy the taste of Breakfast Klub at home. One of my top five favorites in Houston.
I first came here 2.5 years ago. Couldn't wait to return and rightfully so. The food is hot and tasty. The atmosphere is of the coolest vibes. The service and hospitality is superb. My favorite breakfast restaurant ever.
Food was amazing! Definitely lived up to the hype. Line is long, but moves fairly quickly. Food comes out quickly too. I always bring friends here when they come visit!!
This place actually cooks fish right! It was my first time not eating dry fish at a restaurant. The chicken was very good too. I loved the crunchy coating on the fried chicken. The waffle is a bit plain and wasn’t anything special but it was still okay. The food came out quick even though the place was packed. The only complaint I have is that it’s a bit overpriced. The price is like what I would see in a high end restaurant. For that price, I expect to be in a nicer-looking restaurant with table service. Inside, the tables are close together with not much light in the room and it was self-serve for drinks and condiments. Other than that, I still loved the food and the employees were very nice and friendly. If the place was fixed up a bit then it would be excellent.
The Food and Service was GREAT... I hadn't gone to restaurant where the lines was wrapped around the building and everyone was in a happy mood, even in the heat pour with sweat. They gave our water and had GREAT music playing. The employees ALL had the world's greatest personality, for servicing many people all day. They took our order for a party of 15 with different tickets once we got in the building. In less than 10 minutes we had a family size table and our food with no errors....I looked around the room and everyone else was just as happy!!!
Good food. Great people. Be prepared to wait in a long line out the door (moves quick). Sit outside if the weather is nice. Use the parking garage on Travis (NE of Alabama) if the lots are full.
Right as we entered there was a greeter who helped people understand the menu and how the restaurant works. The line moved fast considering it was non-stop from when we got there to when we left. The chicken and wings was so delicious. The waffle had a great taste to it that I haven't experienced at other places. The wings had a delicious seasoning to them along with a great crunch. The place and parkingis small, but has awesome art on the walls, there is a self serve area for what you need such as forks, coffee, syrup, etc.
Great service as soon as u walk in, very friendly staff. Ordered the catfish and grits with eggs over medium, all perfectly cooked and very goid, catfish was excellent and very good grits. My fiance ordered the chicken and waffles and said it was really good. Coffee is good, not as strong as I like it usually but that's just preference. Food came out quick and hot. Good ambience. Will definitely come back when in Houston; ))
Let me start off by saying this place has a welcoming vibe and all the folks working here make each persons experience comfortable and inviting. I ordered the wings and waffle with a side of grits. I thought everything was good but I was expecting more out of the waffle and grits. They were good but not as I had expected for the first time eating here. However, the chicken wings were AWESOME! I loved that they were bone in chicken and the flavor was outstanding. I also ordered a double white raspberry moka with foam instead of whip and their coffee is absolutely outstanding! I would definitely recommend it. I am an avid coffee drinker and I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor and strength of the coffee. Overall I would most definitely recommend this place. It's a small business and I am completely down for supporting small businesses.
This place is amazing. Best breakfast I've EVER had. The atmosphere is lively and it feels like you're with family. Great portions and fast efficient service. There's a reason why there's always a line outside!
WOW is all I can say!!! Great atmosphere, staff is extremely polite. The food AMAZING!! The line was literally around the building. Once inside I understand why. If your in/coming to the Houston area definitely go.
The staff is so upbeat and polite. They truly do have the best chicken and waffles. Waffle was just a little to crisp but was still amazing. Totally worth the money and drive from spring. Favorite breakfast place!!!
Great food in a cozy spot in a place where the staff try to make you feel at home. It is very crowded during peak hours, but that's because it's an iconic Houston eatery. The only complaint I have is that it is a bit steep in price for what it is. I've heard that their same dishes used to be much cheaper, but once they became 'famous,' they raised their prices drastically. I decided to see what the hype is about, but for the price I think I will dine elsewhere.
This place is definitely great for a very hearty meal but the food was a bit hit or miss. The toast was extremely buttery and and tough to chew, as was the bacon. The catfish was nothing special. I liked the grits and the eggs. The staff was also friendly. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it didn't live up to the hype.
Pretty pricey, but the food is filling. The wait is super long so don't be too hungry when you get here! I'm pescatarian (eat fish but no other meat) so there weren't many options for me. Seasoning on the catfish was good but fish wasn't the freshest. Waffles were fresh, and potatoes were really good! Severs were very friendly and the environment is nice!
The Breakfast Klub has been open for at least 10 years now and the average price for a plate seems to be $14.99, so in saying that, the restroom facilities should have been updated years ago. Yes, they're clean, but "stuffy". Ventilation is simply horrible. With the price point they have, I expect more in their decor and the ambiance as a whole. As for the food, I'm a local, so I'm accustomed to the cooking style they offer. YOU will like it.
Have eaten here many times when I travel to Houston. Today I had the chicken and waffles. First, the line is always long. However, normal wait time is usually about 20 minutes. Once inside, food to table time is very quick usually 5-10 minutes. The food tho, is very fresh and hot. The waffles are good, better than average, but not necessarily the best waffles I've had. They are fluffy and perfectly sweet. The chicken is probably top 3 fried chicken I've had... The seasoning and spices are perfect. It also has the crispiness and crunch that one would desire in fried chicken. Waiting is subpar, they are very nice, just not as attentive as other restaurants. Overall, this is one of the best breakfast/brunch experiences with the soul food flare.
The food was delicious! I had heard so many good thing about food and finally was able to see for myself. I ordered the fish and grits and my mom ordered the chicken and waffle. Everything was seasoned well and came out nice and hot. There was a little wait because it was a Saturday night but we were able to get seated quickly. The building is small but I didn't see anyone having to wait for a table after placing their order. Will definitely be returning!
Lives up to the hype for sure. The wait was around the corner but the line moves reasonably fast. Once you're in and sit food comes out quickly hot and just utterly fantastic. There's a reason they're well known as the best breakfast in town. The service is friendly fun and goofy. They made the line go fast. It's worth every penny and every minute of this experience.
Some kind of place. Better get there early. Line was out the door and around the corner, but worth the wait. Food was hot, fast and good. Very pricey but you'll see why. Great spot go see bout it.
I'll agree with the "Best Breakfast In Town" saying. The line moves pretty quick and the service is awesome. The food comes out extremely fast as well. Can't wait to come back.
Went there on a Saturday morning. When we got there, the line was down the street, but they were very efficient and we didn't wait any longer than 10-15 minutes to order. Got the chicken and waffles. It is easily the best chicken and waffles I have ever eaten. Will definitely return.
The food was great, just be prepared to wait, if you want to sit down and eat. I pulled up and saw the wrap around line and opted to call in my order to go. My order was made quickly and was still hot when I got home 20mins later, and still very yummy. Staff was helpful and would bring menus outside while your in line, so you could be ready to order when you got inside.
It was my 2nd visit to this restaurant and it did not disappoint. This establishment was clean with a mix culture of employees and customers. The employees had great attitudes and the food was exceptional. The cost was fair and I can truly appreciate seeing n being greeted by it's founder/owner. I will be back soon and will happily recommend this to anyone.
Finally visited for breakfast! Here are my thoughts.
~ Catfish ~
Texture: 5/5 (perfect amount of crispness and crust thickness)
Note: Too greasy!
Overall 3/5 - the grease-level in the crust dropped it down from a potential 4 stars to 3 stars.
~ Chicken Wings ~
Texture: 5/5 (perfect amount of crispness and crust thickness)
Note: Too greasy as well!
Overall: 3/5 - just like with the catfish, the batter-greasiness dropped the wings down to 3 stars from a potential 4.
Verdict - Great service and ambience with a strong client base. The level of greasiness in the batter, first thing in the morning, was overpowering for my palate. Worth a shot if you don't mind that extra bit of oil in your food.
Whenever friend and family visit me in Houston area they all want to eat at the breakfast Klub. And they asked how often do you eat here? My reply is when someone is visiting and want to come. Because waiting to give you my money to eat some overrated food and prices. It has to be a special occasion. Over all the food was decent but bland if I have to add hot sauce to my breakfast it need help... It depends what you are looking for and now they have more parking than they have Restaurant. Watch out for traffic, car's drive fast on side and in front of the restaurant.
This place was amazing!! Great food, wonderful service. The manager, Terry, came by several times around the tables to check on everything. He even brought my husband and I wings to try since we didn't order any. I would highly recommend trying the wings if you're hesitant... You won't be disappointed!! Hopefully we are going again tomorrow before we head back to St. Louis!
Hard to add any more positive reviews.
I had essentially had no wait to order on a Fri 8am morning.
Friend chicken super tasty. Waffle average.
Catfish super tasty.
Mmmm... Buttery Grits... So buttery and decadent.
Great friendly service.
Really yummy! First time having chicken and waffles and they were both super delicious. Unfortunately, it was about a half hour wait in the cold (they provided heaters), and the line was around the block (Saturday). Also parking is hard to find. The line did move fairly fast. I would definitely get the chicken and waffles again. The chicken was so tender, juicy, and flavorful with a bit of a kick. Also got the catfish and grits which were pretty good too. Really great service.
I prefer the wings & waffles. There is something about the seasoning that I just haven't been able to duplicate. The coffee is called bottomless. If you survive the line usually snaking out the door. Then the atmosphere and food is well worth the wait. Come as I would say & put a fork into it. My second favorite is the catfish and grits. Either way. You cannot go wrong. 5 stars ++++ (plus more if i could)
There's always a line, but it moves quickly and is MORE than worth the wait! You'll want to try more than one menu item and it's an excellent idea, but don't be a hero and try yo finish both. The portions are HUGE and you'll regret it, trust me! My boyfriend still has bad memories of his attempt at: Wings and Waffles (outstanding, by the way) AND The Breakfast Special (my fave). Parking is okay and the staff is fantastic.
I came to brunch here on a Sunday morning. While the line was long, I was impressed at how fast it moved. The Breakfast Klub definitely has it's factory routine down in how to get customers in and out, but without feeling rushed. The food was great. I went with a group of 3 other people. I went with the pancakes, two went with chicken and french toast, and the other with grits. Everyone loved their food - the pancakes are HUGE. I was only able to eat about one of them. The scrambled eggs that came with the meal were great and further enhanced by the cajun seasoning that they provide at the table. The chicken was deliciously cooked and not at all dry - the breading and seasoning were on point. The maple syrup wasn't my favorite as it was a little watery, but that is really my only complaint. The reason I can't get 5 stars is because of the lack of parking in the area. The food is definitely worth the wait!
I stopped here on a recommendation from my brother-in-law. He said the lines are shortest on weekdays but that it is always worth the wait. The one was about 20 minutes long but the hostess kept everyone smiling while we waited. The orders are placed at the counter, you find a seat and then someone from the staff brings the food to the table. Then the fun begins! My wife and I shared the french toast. It came with pan fried sausage, 2 eggs and I ordered a biscuit on the side. The french toast was incredible, the eggs were perfect, the biscuit was amazing. The sausage was by far the best. I'm not sure how they make it, but it's incredible, I should have ordered a giant plate of sausage.
While we were finishing, the general manager, Terry stopped by and asked how things were. He told me the sausage was made by using the Breakfast Klub Signature Seasoning. While he didn't give me the actual recipe, I think I will experiment with it on my own and figure it out. Terry stopped back a few minutes later and offered us a few of the chicken wings they are famous for. So, now I know to order chicken wings and sausage every time we visit Houston. Thanks Terry for a great breakfast experience.......
Got damn, this $hi+ was good. Chicken and waffle baby. Chicken was seasoned perfectly and waffle was nice and soft. Food was quick and staff were amazing besides the dry ass cashier. He needs to be in the back somewhere learning how to smile. But the host, bus boys, and every other staff member were helpful and upbeat. Don't let the line scare you.
Being from Louisiana where southern cooking rates real high I was wildly impressed with my delectable fried catfish, over easy eggs, and yummy cheese grits. There was more than enough food for one person so I had to take a to-go box with me. The service was excellent. My 5 year old granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed her pancake which was the size of a plate. I was surprised that she ate three fourths of it. My husband ate the waffles and chicken wings and all you could hear was smacking. He, too, had to take a to-go box along with our granddaughter.
Food was absolutely FABULOUS!!! The staff team cared. Cared about whether or not you were enjoying the food and experience you were invited to. Although there was a waiting line, it moved quickly. Great team work. Compliments the great food!!
Went here for the first time today and was greeted by such a warm lady. She was so eager to show how the menu worked, where to order, and how everything else was self served. All the employees that we encountered were absolutely fantastic and so happy to see that we were enjoying ourselves
I had the breakfast special. The potatoes are seriously the best, its very well made with bell peppers that add its own flavor to it. The toast was great, thick slice of bread perfectly toasted with salted butter. The bacon and the eggs, I was less enthusiastic about. I'm not the best meat fan, but if you like your bacon fried just right and cut thickly, then its perfect. My boyfriend was more than glad to take my share. The eggs I felt like used too much milk or butter, but one thing I did appreciate is that the eggs just melt in your mouth. However, this was only based on my taste buds.
Totally worth trying and I will be coming back to try other menu items!!! 😄
Was visiting my daughter and was told to go check this place out. Absolutely worth standing in line for. The food was amazing and the service was great. Met the owner and was very impressed that he continued to call everyone "family." The catfish and grits were the business. Will make this a traditional stop when visiting my baby!
3-stars because the coffee was fantastic...the food however left much to be desired. I LOVE biscuits and gravy and have a pretty high tolerance for mediocre B&G but this was in my top three worst ever! In hindsight, should’ve ordered wings and waffle...it looked delicious.
The coffee was top-rate. Definitely a specialty coffee roaster contributing to their coffee selections. Worth going back for coffee and waffles but NEVER for their biscuits and gravy.
My husband and I went here today for the first time to celebrate my birthday. Although there was a line when we arrived (a short time after they opened), we were able to order, sit and get our food very quickly! The food was SO GOOD, I can’t even put it into words. We also had the best, friendliest service. I felt like I was being served by family. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants good, local, delicious food.
I traveled to Houston for a Higher Education Conference. Before arriving I knew Houston would not disappoint because I had heard many great stories from friends and family about the foodie scene in Houston. In the Lyft from the airport the first food recommendation our driver gave us (who is a native of Houston) was Breakfast Klub. While I forgot to take a picture of my food, as great as it looked...it did it no justice. I thoroughly enjoyed the mouth watering wings and a waffle plate. The chicken wings were seasoned like my fathers fried chicken and fried perfectly. I got the most perfect crispy crunch biting into the chicken yet I didn’t have to chew too much. The waffle was soft, yet crispy, and golden brown. I also enjoyed the eggs and breakfast potatoes; truly a feast fit for a king. I would suggest getting there early as immediately after we sat down, the line wrapped around the block! If you’re looking for food from your grandparent’s kitchen with a staff and restaurant that make you feel at home, then Breakfast Klub is a MUST!

Every time I come it's always a great experience. The food is amazing. This time i tried the biscuits and gravy, and oh my goodness I wish I would have tried it years ago. The staff is wonderful, they are polite, warm and inviting from the moment you enter the door. The environment is relaxing and trendy. If you have never been here before it's definitely worth the visit.
Sorry but I think this place is way over hyped. It is good, but not worth the ridiculous wait time. We got there before it opened and were seated relatively fast (within an hour), we all ordered their famous wings and waffle. Like I said it was good. Should have been out of this world the way people talk about it. It is a bit of an experience to go, the wait is almost part of the thrill. But if you just want good food there are plenty a lot of places starting to offer wings and waffles. A few years back you didn't have much options but now a days you can find just as good options without the wait.
If you want to experience it, then be prepared to wait while chilling with your friends (depending on your friends it's not a bad thing) the staff is friendly and understanding of the wait time, so they lighten the mood also.
If you are hungry and want good food just go somewhere else, and you'll be just as happy.
Every time I visit Houston, my boyfriend takes me to this great spot, and I try something new every time. Since this is a very popular spot, the parking space is very limited and sometimes you have to wait. I enjoyed how when we were waiting in line outside, and we were able to get water. This comes in handy especially during Houston's hot summers. The service was great. The food was wonderful. The prices were up there but it was well worth it. It's always an excitement visiting a restaurant that was on a television show (Steve Harvey Show). Can't wait to be back.
PS: Make sure you check the hours before you head in that direction. They do close earlier than most restaurants.
This place is great. If you see a line wrapped around the building don't let that stop you from going in. It moves pretty fast. They take your order once you get in the door. Oh and yes it taste just like ya grand ma is in the kitchen cooking. It's amazing. Service is served with a smile 😄
Today for the first time she came here, such a passionate Mrs. Hello. She was eager to show the list, how it works, where to ask, and other things like self-service. We met all the wonderful staff, look, we played very happily, really happy. I ate specialties for breakfast. Potatoes are the best, they use persimmon fruit, adding them to your taste. Excellent toast, a slice of dense fried bread is very salty. Bacon and eggs, and I are not very enthusiastic. I am not the best meat lover, but if you love your bacon to perfection, the pieces are too thick, it would be perfect. My friend is very happy to take my share. I love eating too much milk or butter, but one thing I really appreciate is that the egg in the mouth dissolves. However, it only depends on my taste. Worth a try altogether, I'll come back to try other menu items!!!!
You can’t go wrong here. We stuck with their classics; Catfish and Grits, Wings and Waffles. Couldn’t have been more pleased. Great music, extremely friendly staff. Very busy, but there is more than enough seating and always a place to sit. Food still came quick even with a Saturday morning rush.
Best breakfast of our whole trip to Houston. Wait was around the corner, but the line moved very quickly because of the setup. You pay for your food first, then they seat you and deliver you your food. Place was packed and once you taste the food you understand why. Staff was so sweet and helpful. I would give this 6 stars if I could.
So my fiance and I were visiting Houston for the first time for my birthday. Before leaving our hometown I looked into a few good places to eat in Houston. The Breakfast Klub was the first joint that popped up multiple times and considering our flight landed too early which conflicted with our hotel check in we decided to go there for breakfast to kill time. Boy was that a good decision. When we arrived the line was wrapped around the building which is always a good thing. The personal was outside greeting everyone very pleasant to say the least. When we made it in we placed our order and got seated. The ambience in the place was LIT. Everyone talking, eating, smiling at one another just amazing. Then the food came. Some of the best food we've ever had in our lives!!! At the end the manager came over to inquire about our experience and the quality of the food. I can't think of one negative thing to say. Everything was on point. Definitely somewhere I'll come back to eat again.
Great Breakfast - The Breakfast Klub is a Houston icon. Wonderful, filling portions. Come hungry. Variety of coffees are all delicious. Huge crowds, but they are incredibly efficient at getting everyone through - yet we never felt rushed. If you're looking not only for a great breakfast but an experience as well, this is the place to come.
I so wanted to like this place which is why I went twice before I wrote a review but the food is not all that! I don't know where all these other reviewers have eaten but they obviously don't cook southern food in their own homes. Now the service reminds me of "aunties" and "cousins" they make everyone feel like family but the food was not good. I ordered the french toast and I order french toast everywhere I go and theirs is on the bottom of my list, Dead Last! And if you see my other reviews you know I eat out a lot! I'm sorry but I won't be returning especially since they are overpriced! I even tried my son's pancakes...also a fail! I cannot in good faith spend my money here just for the atmosphere! The only thing that was good was the coffee!
Long wait but the food is great. This place is so famous that the lines are outside the bldg and down the street. The lines move fast though. Whenever my family visits Texas this restaurant is always on the list of places to go. I had the fried chicken wings with grits and eggs. So delicious that I can still remember the taste now. The owners are a husband and wife team who are down in the trenches of the restaurant. They greet the guests as well as serve. Can't wait to go back.
Went on Saturday at 2 am, they stay open until 3 am on Fridays and Saturdays. Con: have to stand in a line to go in, can't just put your name on a list. Luckily when we got there we waited like 10 minutes. That is why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. Pros: We ordered the chicken and waffles and French toast. The waffle could be more crispy, but that chicken and French toast was amazing. So much flavor on the chicken. They also have warm syrup. It is totally worth the wait. Really good food.
Awesome food! Great staff! Made my birthday stick out wonderfully among others. The manager and young sistah who helped me discover the extended seating..... just the perfect setting... yes. I will be back as often as possible.
Awesome breakfast. The atmosphere is great even before we get to the food. The staff seem to genuinely enjoy their work, the food is freshly made and the taste is exhilarating. great place to hang out with family or catch up with friends. Because of how popular this place is parking is a challenge.
I was really impressed with how quick and nice the service was here. The chicken is the best I have ever tasted. The fruit bowl was nice and fresh. And last, but not least the hot chocolate was like nothing I have ever had. Would definitely come here again. 😊
When I first moved to Houston, I asked for a good breakfast place, and this was the most popular recommendation. I had also heard about the long waits on weekends, so we ventured out on a Thursday to give this place a try. We had the chicken wings and waffle as well as the bacon and homemade pan sausage. Everything was delicious, and this is, by far, the best breakfast in Houston. The waffle was dense and packed full of flavor. The bacon was thick and prefectly cooked. The sausage was not over-seasoned, so I could still taste the flavor of the beef. The place was still packed on a Thursday at 9:30, but it was well worth the wait. We also lucked out on parking right behind the restaurant. This is a must visit for anyone looking for good chicken and waffles in the Houston area.
I cannot stand lines... but I proceeded despite seeing the line all the way around the building because of the rave reviews I heard. I was so surprised when the long line took no longer than 15 minutes - they had an amazing system in place that is unlike anything I have ever seen at a restaurant. A lady comes out and informs everyone in line the ordering procedure (in a very fun and nice way - not annoyed or pushy like you might imagine with how busy they were) so everyone orders very quickly, the register moves super fast and then you take your time eating the most amazing SOUL food ever. Period. Worth every penny, worth the wait. Keep it up Breakfast Klub!
Love this place. While visiting Houston, everyone we came in contact with urged us to visit the Breakfast Klub. After a couple people warned us that the line may be wrapped around the corner, we decided hay we must give it a try, concluding that it must actually be THAT good. As warned, the line was very long, but staff allowed you to look at the menu while waiting. Once inside, you order and pay for your food, self service drinks and condiments, then find your seat. While eating, the actual owner came over and introduced himself. Nice! The food, did not disappoint. We ordered the famous chicken and waffles. The chicken was seasoned well and nice and crispy. The waffles were typical waffles, nothing special, but still tasty. My husband ordered fried fish which was also delish.
Much to my surprise the restaurant is even busy on a Monday, which is a great sign! The staff is well trained and friendly. Also there doesn't seem to be much staff turnover. In my opinion that's always a Great Sign in the restaurant business. The food is consistently tasty and the portions are Texas size, Big! The multicultural clientele is also nice to see. Check this spot out if you are into Southern breakfast/brunch cuisine. Lastly, the music there is always great!
Wonderful service!!! EVERYONE was super nice and helpful. Very cozy spot! Fast service! The food was fresh and hot. Even the bus boy was very helpful. Will definitely come back. Left with a full belly and a smile.
Great food and excellent service! Don't let the long line scare you because it moves pretty quickly. Not a long wait at all. The staff speak to you like they've known you for years. Love this place.
Do not get the breakfast special! The bacon is not crisp, the eggs are not fresh! At least you could have good eggs! I been here before for waffles and chicken which was pretty good. But if you want a simple breakfast do not go here and waste your money!
breakfast at this place - very good. Got there about three, it wasn't crowded. I had a brother come into town and asked me to take him back here. Bring your appetite because portions are generous. This place has many great reviews for a reason.
breakfast and the atmosphere at this place is excellent. I love this place so much. I've had nothing but enjoyable experiences here and plan to keep visiting. I see why this place has a lot of great reviews.
You know it’s gonna be good when there’s a line outside the door. The food was great, but it was pricey. I know this place is “iconic”, but I’m not sure how often I’d really want to spend $40-$50 for 2 people. Other than that, the waitstaff was super nice and it was a really neat atmosphere. Definitely check it out if you’ve never been.
Amazing food! This restaurant is run so efficiently. Line is wrapped around the building but only waiting 30 minutes. And if you order a popular dish (wings & waffles or fish) you get your food within 3 minutes. And in spite of how packed the restaurant is the general manager still made time to come talk to us - asked about our food, where we’re from and what we’re doing here. I’d give this 6 stars if I could
Great place to eat! Service was great and waiter Josh was very attentive and very knowledgeable of menu. This is a five star restaurant for sure...food was wonderful. Josh is a well trained waiter and even though the food was great he made the business stand out by his service! It was my husband's Birthday and he made the night memorable!
I gave it a four star rating mostly because of the food. It’s tasty but really nothing special, you could find similar comfort food at just about any greasy spoon. However, the atmosphere is great and the service impeccable. For those wanting a cultural experience unique to Houston I recommend visiting The Breakfast Klub, especially on the weekend during their late night hours of operation.
This place is amazing! I visited many years ago and so glad I came back! I had the french toast with eggs and sausage and my mom had the meaty omelet with cheese grits and toast. We cleaned our plates!
The food is really good and the overall atmosphere is cute and live. There is a wait every time I go which is a good and bad thing. Good because that tells you the food is really amazing but bad because you have to wait and it gets pretty crowded and loud. Other than that, there is a reason everyone is always going back. The quality of the food is amazing and the price point is good for the quality. The portions are pretty big in my opinion.
Great experience. Food was delicious. Friendly atmosphere. Bring your patience & be prepared for a wait... it's well worth it. I highly recommend & would definitely visit The Breakfast Klub again. My dish was chicken and waffles.
Be prepared to stand in line regardless of what day and time you go! This place is that good, where lines are always forming! Been here twice now, and this place does not disappointed! Had the chicken and waffles the first time and loved it! Great flavors and chicken was fried to perfect!
Second time I enjoyed the Katfish and Grits! AMAZING! The catfish was well seasoned and fried! Lots of Cajun seasoning in each bite! And I LOVED the grits! When I crave for grits, I now crave it the way this place makes it!!!
Great hospitality with friendly staff members! Can't wait to revisit again!
Visiting from Ohio and found this place online. Saw all the great reviews. We parked right out in front where several tents were set up to sell local items. We stood in line at the door but a waitress came through and took our order. When we got to the register we paid and our food came to the table within 5 minutes. Very active -lively music. Great service and the food was excellent.
No matter the time, be prepared for a line; the food is worth it though. The chicken was crisp and flavorful & the waffle was cooked to perfection. The prices are a bit steep though. We ended up paying about $55 for two of us. Food is still a 10/10 though
A little pricey but the portions are huge. Cool spot. Best breakfast food I've ever had. Will definitely come through again when in the area. Great service, we felt taken care of and appreciated. Thank you Terry and crew for a great experience.
The Breakfast Klub is a real treat, but make sure to get there early. This is a local hot spot, and you'll find a line wrapping around the building every morning. The atmosphere (including the staff) is extremely welcoming. You'll feel like everyone there is your friend and you all decided to meet up for brunch.
The menu is simple and seems a tad bit pricy at first. Once you see the portions, you'll change your mind. The Breakfast Klub serves a heavy plate, enough to share with a friend and still feel stuffed!
The chicken and waffles are delicious- some of the best I've ever had.
If you're looking for true soul/comfort food in Houston, this is the spot! I'll be coming back on my next trip.
Great food! Gets to your table fast once you order.
You will have to sand in line. You may have to do some creative parking g as well. But it's all worth it in the end with the fantastic food. Beat breakfast in Houston.
Visiting Houston and want something good for breakfast? You will not be disappointed. I’m glad that we stayed in line to experience the food. I will definitely be back the next time I visit Houston. I had the Catfish and potatoes and it was great. They have fresh coffee and great sweet tea.
Place was highly recommended by some colleagues.
Went with high expectations which got higher with the long queue we saw when we got there.
Got in ordered the omelette and chicken and waffles.
Omelette was good but not spectacular.
Chicken wings was really nice but waffle was average.
The price is too high, in my opinion.
I left feeling kinda disappointed thinking it was over-hyped. I'm sure this was a super great small place once but the hype had turned it into something else.
In my opinion, not worth waiting 20 minutes in line for.
What isn't to like about this place? We went at lunchtime and there was a line out the door (which is typical). It seems like any time I drive by there is...read this and 3326 more
