How would you rate Tea Cakes Bed and Breakfast?
Stonehurst place was a combination of the amenities of a luxury hotel and the comfortable feeling of being right at home. Our every need was catered to as soon as we entered the front door. We stayed in the Hindman suite for our wedding night and everything about it was absolutely perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable, my husband and I enjoyed the large spa tub and huge walk-in shower. Our gourmet breakfast far exceeded expectations and we received impeccable service. My only regret is that I couldn't stay there longer!
One of the best experiences of my life. This is actually where my wife and I had our wedding. Right by the fireplace. :-)
The home is beautiful. Multiple rooms each with its own name. The house itself has been restored to its original glory with some modern upgrades, the most comfortable beds and heated bathroom floors! When you stay there you will be taken care of. They have snacks in the piano room that are there for the guests and make sure to get some they are free! Board games and DVDs in the hallway and coffee upstairs. You'll wake up to an amazing smell (breakfast cooking) and enjoy one of the best breakfasts you can ask for. All in all if you stay here you'll have an incredible time!
My friend and I stayed at Stonehurst Place as a last minute getaway for 1 night. The grounds and the beautifully restored 1800's home was a very good first impression. It only got better when we were welcomed at the door by Paul. He was calm and charismatic. Being that I've worked as an Intern Architect for some years, it was a pleasant surprise to know that Paul was also an Architect. He had more insight than possibly other Innkeepers in this regard. He shared his love of the home's history with us during the tour, and gave us reign of any space during our stay. Lori, the "culinary artist," served us what could very well be the best breakfast I ever had. The amenities far surpassed any hotel I've stayed in, and the personalization of it all was the best part. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer!!!
My husband and I had the honor to be married in this beautiful 1800s home. We purchased the Effortless Elopement Package which decreased a huge amount of stress on us. The package included the best and most gorgeous cake I've ever had which was custom made in California for us. We got married in the music room right in front of a beautiful fireplace and after the ceremony we were provided a delicious champagne for a toast. Everything was arranged in the middle of the main room and looked absolutely beautiful. We got to spend two night in the Hinman Suite. The room looks amazing. There is a fireplace which was lit for us after we got back every night. The bathroom had heated floor, a huge bathtub and a walk in shower with multiple shower heads. The innkeepers Lori and Paul are the sweetest people and surely know how to take care of their guests. We couldn't have been in better hands. Thanks to them we had a perfect wedding experience! Lori makes the best breakfast you could possibly ask for. From the presentation to taste it is just unbelievable.
Stonehurst Place also provides free snacks that are in the music room, a coffee which is in a very cozy room upstairs where you can also find bunch of games or dvds to enjoy! We definitely couldn't have picked a better place to start out life journey and will be definitely coming back to this incredible bed and breakfast.
We came here on our honeymoon, stayed for four nights, and absolutely loved it! The host Paul and his wife (I'm real bad with names) made a wonderful breakfast every morning and the Master Suite was clean and a great stay!
There are a number of great restaurants all within walking distance and a great neighborhood to walk through.
We'll definitely be back in the future!
very different but outstanding quality and attention
could not find a single fault
very definitely a :labor of love!"
THANK YOU, Barb, for such a pleasant stay at Stonehurst! My wife and I enjoyed every minute. Paul and Lori were terrific and we hope to come back soon!
We were treated like we were the only guests staying at Stonehurst that night. Everything was first class including furnishings, food, and hospitality. We were well pleased.
Spent an awesome weekend in this beautiful b&b, and will definitely go back! We had a large group of friends rent out the entire house next store for a fun getaway trip, and we were lucky enough to book Stonehurst. Our friends were jealous every day of our pictures of the delicious breakfasts we were served. The gardens and interior are just lovely, and the hosts are friendly and helpful. Very highly recommend!
We only stayed one night to go to a basketball game, but it was fantastic. Room was amazing, everyone was super friendly and it just had a really nice feel to it. Breakfast was superb, will for sure return next time we got to Atlanta. Thanks.
My wife and I stayed here back in May. It was a wonderful experience. Paul and Lorri were gracious hosts. Lorri is an excellent cook. We will definitely stay again.
My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon on the night before we had a flight out of Atlanta, and we loved it so much that we stayed there when we returned to Atlanta before we drove back home from the honeymoon. We have stayed here once more since then, and the experience is better each time. They are so hospitable, and the rooms are beautifully decorated. It is also located in a very convenient area, with many attractions nearby.
With just a few days notice, we chose this extraordinary inn, right in the heart of midtown, as the venue for our elopement in 2013. We'd only seen it online before booking it, but when we arrived to discuss the ceremony with Paul Worrell (he and his wife Lori are the innkeepers), we knew we'd picked just the right place. Our small ceremony in the piano room was lovely, and Paul was the perfect officiant. We even hooked up to wifi so my new stepdaughter could join us via FaceTime from Vienna. We stayed in the Master Suite, which is beyond luxurious for such a beautiful, old home. The property had been renovated and is filled with gorgeous furnishings, artwork and books. We've returned to the inn twice since, once to stay in the Hinman Suite (also gorgeous) and again to stay in the Master Suite. Everything about the place is sumptuous, from the gardens to the linens to the delectable eats made in house by Lori. It is a wonderful place to get away, with world-class restaurants and Piedmont Park in walking distance. Our favorite inn, by far.
Wonderful bed and breakfast experience with a great location in Midtown. The historical home setting with well-done renovations, masterfully done breakfasts, relaxing porch sitting spots all made for a great three day visit to Atlanta.
One of the most wonderful establishments my husband and I have ever stayed in. It just permeates comfort, congeniality and relaxation. The innkeepers are friendly, helpful and treat you like family. The accommodations are pristine and well appointed. The location is walking distance to fine restaurants, museums, parks. Definitely looking forward to returning.
I absolutely loved staying at Stonehurst Place! I was looking for reasonably priced accommodations close to major thoroughfares, restaurants, and shopping, while my mom and I looked for my bridal gown. Stonehurst met and exceeded all my expectations. It is beautifully appointed with a fantastic mix of historic charm and modern upgrades. Everyone, including the other guests, were so pleasant and sociable that my mom and I found ourselves comfortable just lounging around rather than leaving to explore the city during rush hour. Wifi and parking are all included in the cost of stay, not to mention an out of this world breakfast. I literally have never had such an amazing peach cobbler, and for a person such as myself that has a major sweet tooth, that in and of itself is enough to bring me back to Stonehurst. I can't wait to come back with my future husband!
I can't say enough good things about this place. They went the extra mile to make our stay the most memorable ever. They assisted with planning and preparation to make our Valentines Day weekend extra special. . The rooms were beautiful and the food very tasty. We don't live far away, actually walking distance yet we felt like we had totally escaped from the daily life in Atlanta. Location of Stonehurst is ideal for lots of activities in Midtown Atlanta. Great restaurants, Piedmont Park, and nightlife all within walking distance. But once you go inside you might not want to leave. We definitely will be back again.
I had a fantastic experience! From the assistance in getting there (I was lost…) to the warm welcome and fantastic breakfast(!), it was a great experience. The Innkeepers were welcoming and helpful, the inn beautiful and the atmosphere relaxing after a long work week. Thank you Lori and Paul for the hospitality, it is appreciate and has been shared with friends and family…
Amazing B&B hidden in Atlanta near Piedmont Park. The breakfast is worth it and you couldn't ask for a kinder host and hostess. #stashrewards We will be back!
Great modern accommodation, clean, elegant, generous.
Wonderful B&B in a 1900 home in midtown Atlanta. Location is great, one block off Piedmont park. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, especially the flambéed grapefruit.
Wonderful, cozy little b&b in Atlanta. The amenities were amazing, the food delicious, and the staff was very nice and helpful. I highly recommend if you're looking for a nice b&b.
Friendly hosts and excellent service. Helpful with tips regarding places to eat and things to do. The B&B is located next to a great park and restaurants. We stayed at the eaves, and we found the room perfect for our needs, it even has a great view!
Definitely the best B&B we've visited. Steve and Randy were exceptional Inn Keepers and made excellent breakfast each day
If you are like me and love being surrounded by books, art and beautiful things then this is the perfect place to stay while in Atlanta. Easy walk to Piedmont Park and great restaurants. Randy and Steve were friendly and attentive hosts. My bed in The Farnsworth was the ultimate in comfort. Breakfast was french toast soufflé and delicious. Make sure to enjoy the front porch with a glass of wine or cup of tea. This will be my forever go to accommodation when in Atlanta. Thanks again guys for a wonderful stay!
Hosts were very accommodating. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was great. Will be back.
Love this place if ur married or couple and want to get away this is the place for u
Stonehurst is the most luxurious and most welcoming place to stay in Atlanta. The rooms are gorgeous and comfortable, the breakfast is world-class, and Grace & John are the perfect hosts. It is a beautiful experience.
My husband and I found this little gem on a recent trip to Atlanta. The location is perfect with many restaurants and the park within walking distance. The Inn was charming and had an interesting history. The innkeepers were friendly and offered great recommendations for dining and activities in the area. We had an amazing chef inspired breakfast followed by lovely conversation with the other guests. The best part of it all though was our beautifully decorated room and spa bathroom. My only regret is that we stayed just one night. Would love to return again some day!
I think our stars aligned when we found Stonehurst Place for our intimate wedding ceremony. From the moment we walked in, we felt an instant connection. Our hosts, John and Grace, are absolutely wonderful. They created a warm and inviting atmosphere; working on every little detail and always there to dissipate any concerns.
I still remember the piano playing in the background and the smell of fresh roses .. John's beautiful words as he officiated - which he did in 2 languages! Our wedding day was truly magical. Thank you for your kindness John and Grace. We hope to see you soon.
Just stayed for three nights and absolutely loved it. Room was wonderful (Master Suite), bed luscious, shower amazing and John and Grace a delight. Our son lives in Atlanta so we will be back in the future. It will be our "go to" place when we visit.
Simply amazing. The perfect start to our honeymoon.
This is an amazing place to stay for more than just the historical home/location itself. John and Grace provide a high level of attention to their business, all the way down to the rotating baked goods always available in the dining room. Everything was as nice as nice could be, and it is a short walk to midtown night spots and Piedmont Park as well.
This is THE BEST hotel/Bed & Breakfast in Atlanta. The rooms are so nice and clean with great art. Sitting areas are comfortable and may make you never want to leave and the breakfast is to die for. They are receptive to requests and diet restrictions. Complementary drinks and snacks in the evening are an added touch that help a spouse with a tendency to get hangry when dinner reservations are late. You’ll leave feeling like family (without being interrupted).
You must experience this incredible place! So welcoming, so beautiful, so luxurious, so accommodating, so WONDERFUL!
My fiancee and I wanted a one night staycation getaway and stumbled upon Stonehurst Place through a Google search. I knew from the second they personally sent an email looking to confirm our arrival time to make sure that everything was in order that we were in good hands. Grace, one of the owners, met us as we pulled into the property and offered to take our bags and meet us inside. We got a wonderful tour of the inn which is a beautifully restored manor from the 1800s. Our room, the Hinman suite, was immaculate. The sleeping quarters contained a king sized bed with the most comfortable linens we've ever slept on, a cozy gas fireplace, snacks, things to drink, and was incredibly comfy. The bathroom contained HEATED FLOORS(!) and the nicest and largest shower we've had at any hotel, B&B, or resort. The next morning, John (the other owner) and Grace met us with a two course gourmet breakfast of scones, fresh berries, shrimp and creamy polenta. Grace and John are very warm, down to earth folks who offered to go out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. Needless to say, we were absolutely blown away with everything and we cannot wait to come back for another staycation getaway.
This was the second time we have stayed here. We stayed in Piedmont this time and had a fireplace in the room. We loved the snacks at night and had a superb breakfast in the morning. We will continue to come back here for future getaways.
The home is absolutely incredible. The wood floors creak in just the right, familiar ways, and the layout meant everyone had quiet to themselves.
I came to Atlanta for my son's wedding and decided to treat myself to a bit of first class luxury and that is exactly what I received at Stonehurst Place. I stayed in the Hinnman suite and it was nothing short of amazing! The quality of the home and the comfortable furnishings are beyond compare. Whenever I am in Atlanta again, I plan to stay at Stonehurst Place. In fact, since I've returned home, I've been trying to figure out how I can transform my bedroom into the Hinnman suite! John and Grace are the most warm, friendly, and courteous people I have met in a long time and they helped to made my stay so very memorable. They are nothing short of wonderful and I cannot find enough good things to say about them. I was sad to have to leave, but I will be back because those gourmet breakfasts...OMG! Superb!
I rated it a 4 star only because I didn’t stay here but instead was on a walkthrough for a cleaning quote. This place is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. When I stay here I’m sure it’ll jump to a 5 star.
This place is a gem. All around gem. Beautiful, impeccable, well maintained and excellent craftsmanship. Service is spot on and friendly and the food was delicious.
I certainly enjoyed socializing with the 'Innkeeper' the couple of times I saw her. She is very friendly and easy to talk to. However, outside of that and...read this and 1 more
