How would you rate Sweet Art?
Hands down BEST vegan cupcake/cake and WORST customer service ever. They forgot to make the top tier of my brothers wedding cake. Unfortunately, we kept going back after that and they have taken our order and LOST it several times. THe owner makes no apologies. HORRIBLE customer service.
SweetArt is a lovely establishment. The cupcakes are perfect - high quality ingredients, the perfect sizes, and options for people with a variety of dietary preferences and needs. The cafe items are also good. The environment is welcoming and decorated with terrific Cbabi art. Worth a visit while in STL, or for regular patronage.
Maybe the day I visited SweetArt they were having a bad day but, I was thoroughly disappointed in both the service and the food. I decided to treat my family to some sweet treats on a Saturday afternoon and I had been following SweetArt on Facebook for a while but had never visited. I was always intrigued by the pics of the delicious food they would post on FB so I was excited to check it out. The art work on the walls were beautiful and the music was nice but that's where the great experience stopped. There were literally only about 3 kinds of cup cakes in the pastry display...AND THAT WAS IT! There were no other pastries to choose from. This was a let down because with a family of 5 you kind of want to have a variety of options. The pastry case was bare and over to the side there were 2 measly caramel bars with nuts...that did not taste good. The cashier never really smiled or had a friendly greeting. She was pretty neutral and mumbled under the music that was being played. SweetArt looks like it has the potential to be the neighborhood hot spot but, for me and my family on that beautiful Saturday afternoon it just didn't cut it.
A co-worker brought in one of each of today's flavors this afternoon. We got to sample them all and each was as tasty as the last! They were moist and hit the sweet spot without being overly sugary. That was awesome!
The best cupcakes I have ever had. The breakfast quiche was fantastic. Great atmosphere .
They have some of the best cupcakes I've ever eaten in my life. The art is simply BEAUTIFUL. I want to purchase an art piece soon. It's a place you have to goto and enjoy.
So good. Get the nachos if you can. Very comfortable vibe. I walked in and noticed the community type seating and didn't think I'd like it, but it was nice and not cramped. It didn't make me feel like I had to engage other people. Or maybe the positive good energy vibe made me love everything just because.
Recently becoming vegan, i was missing alot of old stuff i use to eat, like sweets that tasted good..
Their vegan cupcakes and brownies are TO DIE FOR.
i almost dont believe they are vegan because they taste sooo good.
i had the make it funky burger, it was delicious! but i must say the salad dressing that came on the side salad was unlike anything ive ever tasted. i was told it was vegan i still dont believe it, cause it was so freaking good!!!! maybe i was just hungry that day, but i had a great experience, good food, good atmosphere, nice service.
vegans and non vegans alike, try it!! they offer treats that arent vegan too
Wonderful atmosphere, wonderful food, creative way to prepare healthy food
I just started to do this 30 day Vegan challenge and one of my co workers found this place and we just had lunch here... This place is awesome! The Vegan Sweetburger was SOOOO good. Even after this 30 day challenge..I will be coming back to this place. Actually I'm coming back tomorrow, lol
Great atmosphere, Amazon food and deserts, Awesome employees who are pleasant and welcoming. Happy to have find a bakery environment that have healthy chioces to choose from.
Veggie Burger is great, chicanery define and nicest people anywhere. By a cake for a treat.
By far one of my favorite restaurants in STL. The decor and the vibe is truly inspired. Check open hours and the menu as they have changed recently. CBABI BAYOC is one of my favorite artists.
This is the best secret in STL but spread the word it is so good everyone need to try it. I have my mom on her way over there right now for goodies everything is good I have never tried anything that I didn't like. Thank you Sweetart
The vegan harmony cupcake is my favorite! I love the mix of art, community, and healthy food that the owners create. Sweet art is not just a vegan cafe, it is a special gem in St. Louis.
Awesome cupcakes, delicious vegetarian food & perfect atmosphere!
Delicious but a bit pricey. I'll be eating here again.
Best cupcakes in STL and great neighborhood/community vibe. Try the Harmony cupcake!
Best vegan cupcakes I've ever had! The breakfast burrito is perfectly seasoned! This place knows how to serve a tasty vegan dish! Absolutely amazing!
What a wonderful way to start the day! Warm and friendly staff and atmosphere. Makes eating a happy experience! Miz Jermasa bakes the most delicious gluten free Orange Dream cupcakes that melt in your mouth! Not to mention her sweet spirit to match! ❤ love coming here.
I love the chili bowl, brownies, pecan bar, and pretty much everything here. So delicious! The atmosphere is beautiful and warm.
Art, cupcakes and other dainties are really cool. Jazzy musac and a neihborhood style are a special highlight. I'll be shocked if someone doesn't smile and say hello. A super find in a quaint hood with airbnbs.
The food was wonderful but you have to get there early for the best choices!
They really know how to treat well their customers. The food is great and the cupcakes are the best ones I have eaten in a while.
I have too many positive things to say about Sweet Art. They have such incredible, delicious baked goods, vegan and nonvegan, plus awesome breakfast and lunch food too. It's a wonderful place.
Great, great, great. Great food, great service and great art. Part of the fabric that makes our community what it is!😉
I was in ST. Louis for 10+ years just went to this place a few weekends ago and I have been missing a lot, the place has great food.
Best Vegan food my husband has ever had. Super tasty! The dressing on the Kale was fantastic. We had the Curry Lentil Bowl & the House Burrito. Both were fantastic. Love the spirit of the place too - fantastic art on the walls.
I think they specialize in pastry though I feel their Vegan food is the best in town. The Art is also outstanding.
Everything from the cupcakes, baked goods to lunch items are the things that make life worth living!! The artwork is also for living. Reasonably priced food that is healthy and full of flavor, feel good food for the soul and spirit! You can literally taste the love!
Very flavorful food and tasty treats. The service is great as well! Oh, not to mention if you don't care for Kale your mind will change once you have their "Kale yeah" salad. The bomb!!! I swear I could eat that everyday.
If you happen to be nearby and hear a sizzle coming from the frier, wait your turn and than pick whatever just came out of that bubbly oil of goodness. French Crullers (chocolate or maple), Crumbled Cinnamon and Cinnamon Rolls are my favorite. A hot Apple Fritter is a delicious work of art.
Simply amazing. Bakery items (cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, brownies, etc.) are top notch, many are vegan. All breakfast and lunch food can be served vegan - burgers are amazing.
An amazing place for a vegan and some vegetarian eats. the place is real laid back and has a great neighborhood vibe to it. the owner is frequently in the shop tending to customers or working on art that is displayed on the walls. We have tried the make it funky burger, a number of bowls and some breakfast items as well. everything that we have tried has been great! one of the best things is that that also have homemade vegan desserts. if you have the opportunity to try the fauxstess, it is a must. I would say its better than the real thing. A great place for weekend brunch or weekday lunch, although it isnt huge so it may be hard to get a table.
Beautiful food and amazing, kind people that serve it. Great Vegan sweets and sandwiches and great non Vegan items too. All that and you are surrounded by unique, inspiring and soulful original artwork created by the owner in this cozy neighborhood cafe.
OMG the vegan food and desserts are to die for! This place is amazing! Get the vegan Mac and Cheese and chase it down with a vegan Carrot Cake cupcake. Don't tell your meat eating friends it vegan and they will never know.
Amazing food for vegans & vegetarians. Reasonably priced. Seating is limited and can be frustrating during lunch rush. Best cupcakes in town. Friendly service and cool artsy cafe vibe.
Incredible vegan food in a super friendly and welcoming environment. This is one of Saint Louis's treasures. Be prepared for some of the best food I've ever tasted and come hungry!
The food is delicious. Can't beat the sweet treats! And the art and atmosphere tops it off to make SweetArt a winner!
I love this place! Lots of vegan options and even vegan cupcakes. Very very flavorful food! I wish they served dinner. Maybe soon :)
Absolutely wonderful - everything is amazing, from the cinnamon buns to the cupcakes to the pop tarts - and more. I'm told the quiche (nonvegan) is also great. I make at least one trip to SweetArt when I visit St. Louis. Great vegan food and great people!
Love this place. Great vegan options. So yummy and healthy. The t-shirts are great too. Good art.
The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is always warm and loving. This is a great neighborhood spot in the shaw neighborhood. It is a family-oriented place and it is one of the best cupcakes in the city. I had quiche and it was delicious.
Online ordering is terrible. I placed an order and immediately got a confirmation that said I would receive another confirmation when my order shipped. A week later I hadn't received anything saying it shipped so I called to check the status. I had to call at least 10 times before I even got someone to answer the phone. I got through on a Friday and was told someone would call me to confirm my order first thing Saturday morning. After no phone call Saturday I got a cancellation confirmation email on Sunday. When I called (again over and over before I got an answer) the person was not helpful. They could not tell me why it was cancelled or what happened they just suggested I place another order over the phone and said I should see the refund on my credit card in a few days. I have never actually tried anything here or been here but from my experience the customer service is terrible and the online ordering sucks.
I was there on August 30 and had their vegan house chili it was so good. I also bought some vegan chocolate chip cookies they were delicious I will be back.
Avid meat eater here. Went here for breakfast anf had the "world's best quiche." The quiche was amazing, custardy and savory. Also tried my wife's breakfast buttermilk biscuit sandwich. Everything was delicious! Their menu is amazing. Everything from housemade vegan burgers to vegan chicken and nachos. Highly recommend to vegetarians and carnivores alike.
Delicious vegan/vegetarian options. The Bell Hooks Nachos are the absolute best nachos ever! Very flavorful and filling. Great for those whom are on the fence about eating healthier. Start here and you won't be disappointed! The music is great as well. I'll be back for more!
Finally I got to eat vegan cupcakes since I am allergic to eggs. Had sweet burger for the lunch, loved it! One of the must go place in St Louis if you are a food lover. Its all Vegan here!
Kale salad was fresh and flavorful. Funky it up burger was filling and full of flavor. Way better than black bean burger.
Best vegan brownies ever! We ate three! This cafe, restaurant, bakery really made our day here in St Louis where we passed through for a night on our road trip. Everything was delectable, from the sweet to the savory. We weren’t even sure we really liked cupcakes but then we couldn’t stop eating the maple one even though we said we’d just have one bite. Really unreal deliciousness, even for the non vegans out there (and not everything is vegan, although plenty of vegan options). Really, do your self a kind deed and stop by this charming spot for some cozy character and the best food in St Louis!
I've been coming here for cupcakes for years and years and am so happy that in the past few they've really put a focus on pumping up their breakfast/lunch menu.
Hands down my favorite cupcakes in Saint Louis. Everyone is so pleasant and helpful and their little dining room is bright and comfortable. Highly recommend.
I have to have the Alice Walker bowl at least once a week it's so good! They also have the best brownie I've ever had. Just a great place all around with a good crowd, pleasant staff, and even better food.
Everything made with love and magic sounds about right. This place is amazing and such a great looking space. I also got a really good gluten free cupcake here!!
I did not see any sweet corn desserts. I did see some items on the menu that appeared delicious. The tables were able to efficiently accept many patrons. If C' babies adds purified water to his restaurant, I will give him five stars out of five.
Although I did not take a picture of my mint Oreo cupcake, it was delicious! I loved the vibe as soon as I walked in. It was hip, vibrant, and alive with energy.
SweetArt needs to be in every city for people to go, hangout and enjoy good dessert.
I LOVE this cute little eatery/bakery! I live in CA and requested a Vegan birthday cake to be made for my Bf who lives in STL. Not only do they have incredible customer service. The Vegan Red Velvet Cake was beautiful, delicious, and TASTE just like the real thing!
They were able to place a picture of me and my bf on top of his beautiful cake. I Did not design the cake at all; SweetArt ended up making a tall single tier cake with beautiful floral details around the edible picture. We couldn’t have been more happier. We loved the cake so much that we didn’t want to cut through the picture so We ended up wrapping and freezing the top of the cake (leaving the bottom half to eat!) for our personal trip down memory lane next year! It was the highlight of my boyfriend’s birthday!!
Thank You SweetArt!!!!
This place is so much more than a bakery. The lunch and brunch menus are phenomenal. This isn't to say the bakery items aren't great, because they are top notch. I've never tried a single thing here I didn't love.
We drove all the way out to your Sweet Art Bakery - but you guys were closed. So disappointed since this was a Christmas present and we wanted to take granny out for brunch. We are not from the area, so it was a double downer. Why can't you simply update your opening hours on Yelp, Google - or at least on your own website?
The food is made from scratch!!! And you can absolutely tell the difference in the items you order. The staff is very friendly. I'll definitely be back soon! They offer vegan and gluten free options to some menu items. I love the artwork!
Awesome vegetarian/vegan food and bake goods! Friendly staff. Wait times can be long at times, especially around lunchtime but the food and bake goods are well worth it!
The food is always phenomenal at Sweet Art. Whether we come in for a meal or simply for dessert, we've yet to be disappointed. They offer an amazing vegan selection, but if you're tardy to the party, you will miss out on some delightful dessert options prepared fresh daily.
An added bonus is the amazing art work that adds color and personality to the place. The entire atmosphere gives off that cultural and creative vibe you sometimes crave.
I do miss the vegan fish sandwich they used to have on the menu. I hope I am present they day they reintroduce that item back to the menu.
Always a great place to go for vegan food. I love the Kale Yeah salad, coconut lentil curry bowl and the the deserts there are really good too. Not all desserts are vegan but there are some vegan options which is great. I always go back whenever I can, just wish it wasn't so far from where I live.
Absolutely LOVE this place and I've only been twice.
1)Immediately walking in I was surrounded by black art. Pictures of people of color and meaningful art all around.
2) I first had the Maya Angelou and wasn't too impressed with the mac and cheese but their cupcakes, especially red velvet was banging.
3) The next meal I tried when I went back was the spicy chick'n sandwich. Which is by far my fave.
Although the cupcakes are extremely expensive, they are light and great and I will be back to the establishment for future visits.
Every bite was fantastic!! The sweet burger was delicious, kale salad had some kind of magical dressing on it, and the salted chocolate chunk cookie was perfection. I wish I lived in St. Louis so I could eat this meal all the time. My family members all loved their dishes as well—I’m pretty sure you can’t go wrong with anything they make here.
This place is amazing but super busy! We very much enjoy coming here. It can get very busy though. They have shared tables and offer a very unique experience. The food here is amazing! I love that they offer some yummy vegan goodies along with some normal options
This is one of my most favorite places to go and St Louis. The atmosphere is the best, the food is Simply Amazing and the hours are convenient. The big mama rolls are out of this world, the chikn and waffles is phenomenal... everything they have is phenomenal!
The stuff here, everything I ever had, has been exceptional. Get here early. The stuff is so good they run out. However, just because they may run out of something you want, doesn't mean it's a waste. Now you get a chance to try something equally satisfying.
Great staff and the food was amazing!!!! The make it funky was the best veggie burger I've ever had. I also got nachos and mac and cheese (all vegan). Great place to go for vegans and nonvegans. I will definitely be going back!!!
Delicious vegetarian/vegan place, super sweet staff, working hard always, surround of fabulous artwork that you can take home if you feel so inclined. Including the display case filled with gorgeous baked goods. Feel good restaurant, vegan chicken and waffles on Saturdays!! Really, they do and it's incredible!
Also support local, female, black business!
A lovely collaboration of vegan food and art. It is a soulful place that feels like home. You will easily find people from all walks of life here. It really is a beautiful place.
Great vegan and gluten free options. The meals are fresh and flavorful. I had the Make it Funky burger and the Kale Salad. I went back the next day for both!!!
Great concept, beautiful art, and friendly staff. The vegan food was ok. I had the vegan chili, Mac n cheese, and chili cheese nachos but only really cared for the Mac n cheese. My daughter ordered two vegan brownies and said she went to heaven.
Vibrant place with lots of options. They had one kind of gluten free cupcake and the coffee is pretty good. Not a lot of room but definitely worth checking out. The staff is absolutely amazing.
This is a really fantastic place and incredible asset to the neighborhood. The food here is great but you also feel very welcome here to spend time here after eating or just coming in for coffee. Also I don't have kids but it seems very kid friendly.
I was so glad to have taken up the recommendations to visit here! We were excited to try the food. It was a super hopping place, I don't recall them never not having a line. Would recommend the spicy chk'n wrap and the chili bowl.
Service is superb. Quality of food is superb. Portion of food sucks. When I pay $6.00 for a salad, the portion should be more than a coffee cup portion. If it had been an acceptable portion this rating would have easily been a 4 star rating.
Delicious vegan options and a nice atmosphere. This place had the best ginger cookie I've ever had. I could easily drive back there just for another cookie.
THE BEST vegan sweets. I've tried so many different things there and all of it is absolutely fantastic. The staff is amazing and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Wonderful asset to the neighborhood!
I absolutely love SweetArt. It's a St. Louis gem for vegan and vegetarian food, but the food is so amazing that I guarantee there's something for everyone! I always try something new every time I go and I have yet to be disappointed.
I’ve visited this shop a few times over the years; it’s in my neighborhood and I love supporting local businesses. When you walk in the door you can feel this is a space made for people... ALL people.
My mother ordered my daughter’s birthday cake from SweetArt back in July. We were hugely disappointed when we got the cake home - it had no support inside so the cake had started to shift. This was exacerbated by the uneven cake layers (massive gobs of icing were used inside the cake as an attempt to level it out).
Once I started cutting the cake, the layers were so wet that it literally fell apart in my hands. The flavor was also lackluster.
My mom lives in KY and I recommended she order the cake from this "local awesome bakery". She was utterly disappointed and heartbroken. I felt terrible that she shelled out a lot of money on a cake that did not meet expectations. My daughter (who turned five), took one bite and said "I don't like it."
Going in to grab a quick drink or treat is a great experience. I can’t say I’ll ever spend the money on a custom cake again.
Everything is sooo tasty. One of my favorite places in St. Louis. That Kale Yeah salad is amazing especially since they recently changed the recipe back to the original. And the sweet treats are so moist, flavorful and good 😋!
This place is incredible! They have a very creative menu filled with vegan and allergen-friendly breakfast and lunch dishes. Their large pastry case really puts the icing on the cake! I'm not vegan, but I've had some uniquely flavorful dishes here that I was beyond satisfied with. Their weekly special cinnamon rolls are worth getting there a little early for, and the cookies are also high quality. The food and pastry menus both have seasonal flavors to keep you coming back to try more of their creativity. Service is excellent, the artwork is beautiful, and the music in the background makes for an incredible atmosphere. I can't rave enough about SweetArt!
I LOVE this place - I am from Kansas City and this is a MUST stop. The funky burger is legit all vegan - service is outstanding. I can’t wait to eat the vegan cinnamon roll to go....😉 WAIT for it....yep the cinnamon roll didn’t make it out of the restaurant - it was crazy AMAZING. Have them heat it up and it just melts.
My husband, my two kids, and I met my parents for lunch at SweetArt. All of our food whether vegan or not was delicious. The atmosphere was great, and the art is both beautiful and inspiring. I can't wait to buy a few pieces of art. I was also delighted by the range of vegan desserts without nuts. Finally, I have a bakery for my son who is allergic to dairy, eggs, and nuts.
First time here, I order a buffalo chicken for my husband and kale salad he enjoyed. The brownie is Delicious vegan cookie was good. My co worker order a sweet burger it was pretty good. We will visit again soon.
Wow. Just wow. I just made the switch to veganism. And I have to say sweet art makes it effortless. Not only that but they have such a friendly and family oriented atmosphere. This place makes you feel like you are at home getting a meal filled with love. Whether you are looking for a place to get your sweet tooth on or looking to eat some amazing vegan food, this is the place to be..
The food/sweets here are delicious, and I'm appreciative of the communal atmosphere. However, despite my best efforts to support them, there are some lingering issues with their communication and professionalism. I give this feedback in hopes they can address these issues, and come out the other side a better business because of it. I went in to place a LARGE ($$$) order to share with my office, and was told to go through their website. A little odd, but fair enough. I went home and sent an email through their contact page, with details of what I was looking for, and when we needed it (2 weeks later). After a week of not hearing anything, I called back in and was told they hadn't received anything through their website (so is your website broken?). The worker I spoke with offered an email address to resubmit my inquiry. I was shocked they weren't a little more concerned about the potential technical problem, but hey, what do I know. So just as she suggested, I sent an email directly to them. Another week passes, and I still haven't heard back (notice a trend). I call the store and explain the situation, only to be told they aren't accepting any more catering orders for the week. At that point what they're broadcasting to me is "we don't want your business." Either they have a serious technical issue with their email, or (more likely) they're not responding in a timely fashion. Here's an idea - how about taking such orders in-store or over the phone, since email seems to be too complicated to keep up with.I genuinely hope this is an isolated occurrence, otherwise, SweetArt is probably missing out on more business than they even realize.
My son and I stopped in here for breakfast while traveling because we heard they had amazing vegan food, and we heard totally correctly.
Stop by for the vegan Banh Mi, stay for the incredible cinnamon roll. Everything we got here was fantastic. The server we had was friendly and super helpful. The coffee was hot and delicious.
The other breakfasts looked good too, but the vegan breakfasts were to die for. It's rare to find a great place to eat breakfast when you're vegan and this really knocked it out of the park.
I'd give it more stars if I could. Don't miss this place if you're in town and vegan!
Cafe that boasts mostly vegan options?! So close to home?! Yes please! I am not vegan, but I am not opposed to some super clean eating! Everything that I've...read this and 331 more
