How would you rate Wood's Beauty Salon & Nails?
I've been going to NK since they opened. Always great customer service and my spa pedicures are top notch. They just opened a new, larger location a few doors down from their old one. Brand new everything! I feel even more pampered. Visit for yourself and you'll see why!
I love this place, it has everything I look for at a decent nail salon. Everyone is so friendly and nice. I love how they run their business, have to make sure their customers have a good time. They offer complimentary wine while you are having your nails done. I came to have a pedicure, probably one of the best I have had. The technicians did not rush through steps, mine took her time and made sure everything is great before moving on. They are very easy to communicate with even though English is not their first language. Price is very reasonable. The place is very clean and well organized. Highly recommended !!!
NK Nails is one of the high quality salon here in Seattle. Clean nice and welcome atmosphere with great customer service. Got a manicure today and they greeted me cheerfully and offered me a drink. Wow!! Mary was so meticulous and gentle and took care of my cuticles and nails. I love my newly polished nails look..
This is probably the best nail salon I have ever been to. They sure knows how to take care of their customers and make sure they will have to come back for the great service. Everyone is offered a complimentary wine or beer as long as they have at least a service $15. Not only they have good customer service but they also have experienced staff. The lady did my pedicure did an outstanding job, just like how I like it. They also follow sanitary procedure very closely. For such an amazing service, they have surprisingly affordable price. You really should check out this place for yourself !!!
I have been going to this place for a few months. I rely a great deal on reviews but don't always write one myself - I needed to make an exception here because this place is great. They do a wonderful job, everyone is talented, kind, and efficient. You will not find another nail place for such a good price.
Be prepared to pay extra for things you shouldn't need to pay extra for. They will try to sweeten you up with a glass of bubbly. If you want a specific cut to ur nail they will charge you extra, a fancy design? the ladies will lie to you and say they can't make it. Don't put a price up if your going to end up over charging.
I used to go here alot, however the last time I went in was just for a file no color and they tried to get me to pay 25$!!! Previoisly the woman working on my nails cut my cuticle serverly and it would not stop bleeding. So she tried to put fake nail cement on it to stop it from bleeding, it was a mess and eventually she put a bandaid over the whole finger. The man at the front desk still made me pay full price. I must say they are very polite all the other times and efficient especially with my friends when they get acrylics. It's definitely a hit or miss.
Employees sitting get around not doing much. A lady helped me, put acetone on my nails (totally normal) then asked me to move to a different desk and left me there! I ended up with a chemical burn. Only after I asked for help someone else came to take it off and they we're giggling as if it was a funny situation. My first visit here was fine, and they were super busy my first time. Think about how you would feel if it happened to you
A fabulous salon with skilled workers. In tye same family as your local salon but much much different. It's cleaner bigger nicer they offer more services at reasonable costs. Mary is phenomenal and I wish I could see her more. Cash is the preferred method of payment here so make sure to stop and get cash ;)
WASTE OF MONEY, FAULTY NAILS, RUDE SERVICE!! Got my nails done here not even a week ago and the day after I got them I woke up to one missing. It came off right where they glue the acrylic to the nail. I was down south so I couldn't get back in right away. A couple days later a second one falls off, I woke up to it gone. I was finally in a position where I could get back in and I had no problem paying to have them fix most nail salons don't fix them unless you come in right away. When I walked in I told the lady about them breaking off and her response to me was "that's your problem not ours" wow! So she asks what I want done. I want my 2 nails fixed. Now, I had my nails done wonder woman themed for an event and couldn't remember the exact colors used. When she told me to pick out my colors I tried to show her my nails and told her I'm not sure what colors they are kind of hoping that since she does nails for a living she would be able to help me find ones that match, instead she says well neither do I. That's when I decided that as a paying customer who paid good money to have them done I didn't have to put up with such rude customer service! Don't go there it's a waste of money!!!
I really like NK Nails and I’m super picky about my nails! I’m definitely the annoying customer who stares at what they are doing every step of the way and asks paranoid questions like “Oh will you be able to fix that?” or “Can you just get rid of that little spot right there?” or “Will they be even?” Jenny is super patient, kind, easy to converse with, and produces a beautiful set of pink & whites! Ever since I was lucky enough to find Jenny during a random walk in one day, I’ve been extremely happy with my nails and they stay on forever! So if you’re the picky, paranoid, OCD about how your set looks and feels person, you will surely be happy with going to NK as they will take the time to do your nails exactly how you want. PS: please note I did not find Jenny until my 4th visit so the other ladies (Mary & one other really nice woman but alas her name has slipped my mind, so sorry!) who did my pink & whites were good too as I kept coming back! PS Again: I do tip extra for being what I would consider a high maintenance customer- thanks for putting up with me and making my nails beautiful, ladies! :-)
Had a spa pedicure and manicure here before my birthday. Awesome! So happy to have found this place.
Friendly, efficient service and great mani & pedi a reasonable cost.
I did my shilac nails there, next day it some of my nails chipped. I came back and they fixed it. Next day it chipped again....Lady at the resaption was extremely rude. They refused to change my nail polish (I believe it was an old one) they only things what they can do is keep fixing it, which not the right solution . Nobody cares about my time and gasoline.....If they did not want to work around the problem....customer is not the number one priority for them.....money only....fine....I ll find the other place.
These ladies make me feel right at home every single time. I never ever feel rushed despite coming in so last minute. They are so accommodating.
For Mother's Day,
My sister took my hard working mother who rarely gets to practice self care to NK Nails in west seattle. My mother was reluctant to go because the last time she went, she received poor service though she paid for the deluxe pedicure. Still excited, she went.
Long story short.... my mother was discriminated against on so many levels.
You used the fact that she couldn't advocate for herself in English or understand Vietnamese against her. My sisters were present and your video shows that she was not offered the complimentary drink with her service and that she didn't receive a "full massage."
When my sister complained, your nail tech yelled at her. When she asked to speak to the manager, you said you were the manager and that you would call security on her. For what?
For requesting the treatment or the basic service that was paid for? My sister was upset and said she would not tip and your worker responded by saying
"I don't want your people's tip"
It didn't help that your workers and yourself publicly humiliated
My mother by yelling at her in English and Vietnamese on their way out.
I am a regular customer and I know you treat your customers differently. I experience different treatment depending on how I am dressed that day - but I'm fine because I am comfortable to advocate for myself. Just last week when I got a fill, your worker commented on my "brown dark skin" and "big boobs" asking me if they were real. Your workers need to treat customers with respect.
I went in to see what happened: you showed me the video and explained your side of the story. Thank you for that. I requested a refund for your awful service and even though agreed that you treat customers different based on who the client is.
That's fine. I didn't care for the money. I just wanted you to understand that it is NOT okay to treat paying, hard working customers this way.
I will take my business elsewhere. That is fine- but I wanted to share the terrible experience I had here - I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau | US because I am privileged in understanding my rights as a customer and will not stand for my mother or any one else being treated that way.
Well I decided to give NK Nails a second chance after a previously poor experience. I had been patronizing this business for 3 years and my second to last experience unfortunately was a great disappointment. The main point being that the shellac which they applied peeled the very next day. When addressed with this, they refused to remedy their poor service. After 6 months I decided to try them again on January 30th but was immediately called out for a previous negative Yelp review and denied service. I am extremely disappointed that they would hold such prejudice to a customer who was only giving them another chance. Moving forward NK Nails have left me no choice but take my business somewhere else.
Cute nail salon. Nice and open, plus they offer a complimentary beverage with your service.
Got my eyebrows done by Amy. She did a great job. Will have to come back for a pedicure
Extremely livid. I loove getting my nails done, and this place is ridiculous. The prices sound great until you sit down to have them done. I asked for a soak off on my gel nails, they decided to do it their way anyways. And she ended up cutting me in the process and made me bleed. Then after asking what length i want my nails and cutting them, she casually mentions that's an extra $5 on top of everything else, because i wanted them "longer then normal." I had intended on coming back later to get my mom a pedi, but I'd rather drive to Capitol Hill.
Rude, very rude. Very unhappy!
The ruined all my cuticles!!!! they cut them all off which you are NOT supposed to do!!!! (look it up) and now i have hangnails all OVER its so painful and looks horrible!! They did a good job painting my nails, but i will not be going back there.
I was really hesitant to go here after reading some of the recent reviews. So much so, that I had to be turned down by two other places in the area before I reluctantly went (one didn't do acrylic work, and the other was closing). However, they were *wonderful*!!
I was greaten within seconds by a friendly host, the facilities were clean and organized, and the staff was friendly and happy.
I had some very damaged nails from some acrylics that were done too deep and too thick. My technician patiently and gently took off the acrylics, and then gave me a beautiful shellac manicure with complimentary extra coats for strengthening my poor nails. Did I mention there's one free wine, beer, champagne, soda, water, coffee, tea, etc. with service $15 or more?! Wow!!
Thank you, NK!
Always a treat coming here with my mom. Everyone there is great! They really take care of us :)
My first time and had bad experience the girl that I met wasn't friendly shes desrespectful i chose the nail polish that I want and she did that she like 😡😡 she did that she want while I asked her why she said they sold it out but she has to told me before she did I was surprised I never said anything because I liked the color but she doesn't care and she asked me to pay in the middle of her job and she made a face at me while I ask her something, she just saw my black skin treated me bad
On Monday (17th) I got my nails done and they are shellac. By Monday night my thumb already peeled off and I went in on Tuesday to get it redone and tonight my index finger peeled off and they are already chipped. I would understand if I had a super physical job, but I have a desk job for the most part and like maybe 1% I move a few boxes that weight less than 10lbs. I've had shellac before and it lasted me a month this time not even a week. The whole "experience" was messed up. First they didn't give me enough time to really pick the color I wanted, this manicure was $25 which she did it while I got a pedicure and the manicurist made me hold the light thing to dry the shellac, and I told them I wanted the $50 pedicure and they were like "you know that's $50".....like yeah that's what I want (I guess they didn't think I could afford it) I found out they only did the $25 pedicure and that's why they only charged me for $25. I didn't mind the $50 price tag (total) because they rushed and I didn't feel it was worth it and they I wasn't worth their time. I would never go back to NK nails in Westwood Village and I would never recommend this place to anyone. I hardly ever get my nails done, but I feel 100% ripped off. 😡
One of THE worst pedicures I have ever received. The technician cut the nail wrong and it became ingrown later, when I tried to tell her I didn't like the color picked out, she wouldn't let me change, and when I tried to get someone's attention they were very rude. Funny thing is....weeks later I went to a salon in Southcenter and told the tech about my bad experience (with no names mentioned) and several customers knew it was NK Nails just from what I said. Never going back.
I have never had my nails cut so POORLY. It took 2 days to recover because I was in so much pain. Not only was I cut multiple times, my nails were cut so short it was unbelievable. The tech was nice, but she did a horrible job. I have been doing shellac for years and NEVER have my nails peeled and chipped so bad. Thank you for ruining my beautiful natural nails.
Instead of offering complementary alcoholic beverages, use that money and send your technicians through proper training.
👵 Jackie, thank you for taking time redoing my color not once, not twice, but three times after i messed it up and pulling you away from two other customers! You finally redid my color with enamel and a different color (I like much better) which dried faster and harder. You are my girl. I hope I tipped you enuff for the inconvenience and will make an appointment next time! LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Clean, happy place. Lots of choices.
I came in a week ago to get a new set of acrylics. A week later they were coming off on all the edges so I returned and showed the manager Kevin. He agreed they didn’t look right and said they would redo the set for me. They did and it was beautifully done by Vi, and I tipped her in cash even though the service was supposed to be free. Then when I was leaving another lady there told me I had to pay $23 for a polish change just because I picked a different color than the first time - even though at no point before this was I told I would have to pay anything! So I discussed it with the manager Kevin and his only answer was that he didn’t hear the conversation in which his other employee claimed to have told me I would have to pay for a different color. In other words the other employee lied so they could charge me for their mistake. Worst customer service ever.
Got a full set from Mary today. She did an excellent job. She was sweet and didn't give me thick acrylics. My mom is one of Mary's regulars and I definitely know why. 👍
This place is great! Walked in for a Mani/pedi expecting a standard experience, instead I was sat down right away, offered a complimentary drink (selections included wine, champagne, soda, tea and water) they also did the Mani at the same time as the pedi, so I didn't have to switch chairs more than once. I had a really fantastic experience, and will come back again.
Personable staff, reasonable prices, clean with great atmosphere, and they always do a great job. I’ve been going there once a month or so for years and can’t go anywhere else.
I love this salon. Come during the week if you don't want to wait though! It's big & usually busy.
They offer a complimentary beverage for service over $15 & the massage chairs that you sit in during a pedicure are my favorite. The decor is nice, I like staring off in to the clouds pained on the ceiling!
The parking situation at Westwood village sucks overall but that is not the fault of the salon.
I had gotten a full set of acrylics, the broke off not even 4 days later. They were thin, all uneven, and very bendy..? So I went in to show the manager and he agreed that they looked awful.. my thumb nail snap off right in front of him! So they redid my nails for free, but they were still thin. Most of them were uneven and poorly shaped. Wouldn't come here again unless there were no other places to find.
Literally my go-to nail place now. Vi took care of me and did an amazing job on my acrylics after I showed her a photo of what I wanted! Not only are their prices nice, but their technicians are friendly as well! My bf came with me since we were going to a movie afterwards and they insisted on bringing over a chair so that he could sit next to me. Very nice of them! They have punch cards if you pay in cash and also offer a complimentary drink with a 15$ purchase or more. A great deal!
Took me right away with no waiting Wednesday, mid day. Mani- pedi simultaneously to help make my timeline. It came out shiny, smooth and neat. I didn't feel rushed.
Less than a week and my color already started coming off. Usually I really like this place..
Two stars for a nice looking, and clean, nail salon. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and said he could get me in right away for a manicure (natural nails, no gel/lacquer) and told me to pick a color. I asked one of the nail techs if they had OPI black, and she pulled a bottle of black that said gel/lacquer on it, despite my telling her and the other woman who came over to argue with me about whether or not that particular bottle was lacquer/gel nail polish or just regular. Perhaps it was a miscommunication - I don’t know, but being scolded over the nail polish I wanted, and the nail polish they were offering, didn’t sit right with me for whatever experience I was going to have during the actual manicure. So I put the bottle down, and left. Won’t go back, especially now that I’ve read all the other reviews! Sounds like I dodged a bullet.
Decent. Clean. They don't wrap the polish over the edge of big toe & that shortens the life of your pedicure by a LOT.... But you do get a glass of free wine.
My new favorite nail salon. I've never waited more than 5 minutes, even when it appears to be super busy. I mostly get regular manicures and the quality is always on par. The pay with cash punch card and the beverage service are awesome bonuses!
While not luxurious, NK Nails is clean, consistent and does a great job. The employees are friendly, fun and good at what they do. My husband and I go every 2 weeks for for Mani/Pedis. He gets the super deluxe pedicure and I get the Dip/powder gel nails. There is complimentary beer, wine, soda and water 😊. It's always best to make an appointment. They are so busy you'll have to wait otherwise.
My regular place. Free beverage, great mani and pedis. They have punch card for cash payment too. Free mani at the end.
I went in to get my nails done for an event that I was attending and the lady that did my nails did them so fast. They are crooked and bulky. She painted my nails so fast that it doesn’t even look nice. She rushed and you can tell by my nails. If you want your nails to look nice then I suggest getting them done somewhere else. Besides that the prices were fairly nice.
Fit me in last minute right before closing and still did awesome job!
RACISM of any kind is unacceptable. Overt public racism by a business that caters to a community
in this city, at this time needs to be, at the very least, called out. It's unacceptable and completely disgusting.
My wife and daughters planned a special day that included getting their nails done at NK NAILS. While they were there, they overheard the salon employee "Mary" and a few older white women (disclaimer: I am also white, so I hope it's okay for me to say that) laughing and making racial jokes while a young African American girl in her 20's was sitting not too far away, and was obviously hearing the conversation that Mary and her White Ladies made no attempt to extinguish.
My oldest daughter overheard and immediately made it a point to let my wife & other daughter know what was happening. They immediately brought it to the attention of the two gentlemen who own NK NAILS, along with identifying which employees were spewing the racial comments & ongoing conversation. By this time, the girl who had been listening to the filth was trying to hold back her tears, but not able to.
After it became apparent that the ownership at NK NAILS was not going to do anything about the racist environment they allow, other than to say that "they have bi-racial" family members (which apparently means that you can have hurtful, RACIST conversations but allows you a free pass to do so), my wife and daughter paid for the girls' bill before leaving, letting the owners know that they will never patronize their nail spa again (disclaimer two: they collectively went there a lot in the past). I don't include this to make them out to be anything more than we all should be: human beings who care about human beings. Rather, I am so disappointed (by now not surprised, unfortunately) that NK NAILS had the audacity to NOT, at the VERY LEAST, pay for her charges.
In the end, my family made a wonderful new friend outside of NK NAILS who is also studying the same major as one of our daughters. After some more tears & exchange of contact info, they are all getting together after the holidays.
In closing, I hope the other people who were at NK NAILS and overheard this will consider making it a point to stand up and make your voice heard when you hear hurtful conversations or see things that you know are wrong. You should have done what my daughter did. Unfortunately, there will be many more opportunities to do so. You may even make a great new friend.
As someone already previously said this place is RACIST. They are extremely unprofessional. I am truly utterly disgusted in the manner of these “professionals”
Honestly I’m the kind person who chooses to see the good in everything so I ignored the bad reviews. BUT, this place is terrible with their service. The lady who helped me was pushing my hands around and I kindly asked her to stop. She went on to talk about me thinking I couldn’t understand because I’m Hispanic. I understood everything they said. Even after I spoke up , she continued to laugh and to mock me and other customers in the store. It’s not only about the bad service, but the quality is terrible. The color is wearing off rapidly and it’s only been 2 days and two nails already fell off on their own. DO NOT COME HERE. They will judge you and treat you inferior.
I love this place. Great service. Just really think these folks are giving it their all.
If this one lady would never do my nails again, I would love it. Everyone except ONE tech does a fantastic job. 3x the same employee has done a bad job with my shellac and shaping, and all my nails ripped. Three times, all her. Never happens with anyone else, not at NK or anywhere else. Great place to take friends since they always have multiple chairs open and can get both you & a friend in for mani/pedis at the same time. Often they'll do your hands & feet simultaneously, makes it fast. Great hours for working people!
This review is based on the dining experience. It was one of the greatest dining experiences I've ever had.
