How would you rate Plum Bistro?
Overall a great experience. Prices a bit high, but good tasting food. We enjoyed waffles, pizza, and a French onion soup (the latter was our least favorite, the other two: 4 stars for pizza and 5 for waffles). Would come again.
I could not have had a better first-time experience here. I'm not vegan and I was expecting to be mildly dissatisfied by the selection. I walk in to this GORGEOUS restaurant that was so modern and chic I was already thinking this would be better than I thought.
We sit down and are greeted by a lovely waitress who immediately swung back around with two fresh cups of coffee. I look at the menu and see so many delicious sounding creative meals and I finally land on the burrito. HOLY GUACAMOLE. This was one of the best burritos I have yet had!! It tasted so amazing and texturally the soyrizo was better than most chorizo you can get in Seattle.
I would highly recommend this place to vegans, but also to people willing to try something new, fun and heathy in Cap Hill. SOLID 5/5 stars
Service is a little slow but the breakfast scramble was delicious! Highly recommend.
When a vegan friend of mine comes to town we always go here. As a non vegan I still enjoy the food, which is the greatest compliment I can give. Great atmosphere as well.
OH MY GOD!!!!! The food still has me drooling at the thought of it. So much flavor, creative, and high quality dishes. We went for dinner, it was definitely pricey but if you are vegan you must treat yourself and eat here. My husband and I shared an appetizer, burger, and dessert. We left very full and satisified. Also, their happy hour menu looks great and more reasonable.
Great food. We ordered two entrees and they were both incredibly tasty. This is a safe place to take your non veg friends as they do a great job at seasoning and bringing the noms
Great staff! I did not expect much of the food, as I am not vegan, but was pleasantly surprised. I had a very tasty and refreshing salad, and the tempeh and seitan on it were cooked and seasoned well.
Delicious! I had the tempeh vermouth and my colleague had a pesto avocado pizza and we split them. We were in Seattle for a week conference and both agreed it was the best meal of the trip despite the fact that she is not a vegan. I returned for a second time and had the appetizer Mac and cheese which was excellent. The only part that was disappointing was a grilled peach dessert that was just okay. Aside from that, great staff, great atmosphere, and delicious cocktails. Highly recommended.
The food is good, if you can stand the staff. I have tied this venue more than once over the years, hoping the waitstaff standards would have changed. It is unfortunate that a place with such potential is overshadowed by a staff that reminds one of the high school clique that everyone loathes. You will find good fare here. But, you will be ignored -and, I mean -IGNORED by the sickeningly arrogant waitstaff. They will stand in little groups, talking amongst themselves. If you DARE to interrupt them for service (even to get your check) you will get a very snotty acknowledgment, followed by their continued neglect until such time as they see fit to tend to you. It's shameful. It's unfortunate.
Plum makes vegan food accessible to all. Flavorful, creative dishes that would make you forget that it's vegan. I am an omnivore and I enjoy this restaurant quite a bit with my vegan/gluten free wife. Great date spot. Too bad they don't take reservations. Must try the "Cajun Mac & Yease". It's really good (but it's hardly "healthy", life's too short!). I think it's slightly overpriced, but it is certainly creative. Their English Garden cocktail is also worth tasting; it's a refreshing "pick me up".
I'm not a vegan or vegetarian. But if I ate meals like the ones served at Plum I would be. I have gone here many times with many carnivorous friends and I haven't heard of one bad meal there yet. The place is very nicely decorated though very small! Reservations are not available for parties under six and check hours as they do close between lunch and dinner. Parking will be harder to come by during popular times but if you can walk, it's a very nice neighborhood.
I make it a point to eat here at least once every trip to Seattle. Amazing ingredients, flavors and food. Everything is vegan, but plenty of tasty things for omni folks as well. Some good locally brewed beers and wines as well.
Just ate here for our anniversary and the server (Mark) was super nice and even took several pictures for us. The food was also really good, we took the ferry all the way here to try it out and it was totally worth it!
Easily the best vegan brunch I've ever had...not to mention the throwback hip hop and r&b just made for a perfect experience.
I called ahead to see if it was safe to eat there on a gluten free diet and they said it was great. So I drove with my wife almost 2 hours, sat down and on top of the guy at the door having an attitude.. they told me it wasn't safe to eat there if you had medical sensitivity to gluten. Which is it?! I called and asked specific questions! The waitress wasn't even remotely sorry! Gladly I found a better pub right up the street that ONLY does gluten free. Capitol Cider was a much better experience. Will not return again.
Amazing food, wonderful service!!! Everything is amazing here. Great happy hour with lots of selections.
Delicious food you can feel good about eating vegan organic and woman owned business all things I love to support. Pls the food is always amazing
I love this spot, and I've always had a wonderful time. The food is delicious, high quality, creative, satisfying, and very reasonably priced for a nigh out, especially considering how lofty vegan food is often priced. The menu is inventive and complex, which is a real treat if you're tired of every vegan option being another salad. The space is small and intimate, with a candle-lit, cozy vibe. The tables are quite close together and there is usually a bit of a wait to sit, though I've never felt cramped. I just wouldn't recommend it if you're traveling with a stroller or some other large item.
Yum! A bit expensive, but very good vegan food! Love the scrambles. Definitely a Seattle favorite!
Mikini the owner is a peace of work.I owned a small company that serviced her three shops and now she doesn't want to pay me WTF I hope she wants all she gets sorry no I'm not👺
Amazing vegan food. I am a meat eater and still LOVE it.
Delicious and healthy without feeling TOO healthy. I loved the tuna and the Reuben sandwiches. Beautiful loft-like space in a super cute part of town.
Went 3 times over 3 days. Got to try their lunch, happy hour and dinner menu. Every single item I ordered there was phenomenal!
Incredible food, great atmosphere and stellar service. The Plum Breakfast Slam on their brunch menu is sensational. Some of the best food I've ever had, vegan or otherwise.
The happy hour wine was not even drinkable it was so bad. Shocking, my palate is not that picky. Of course the glass they brought me for $11 was excellent (and they did not tell me the cost before bringing it to me) . How surprising. The food was great I thought. A touch Bland but I just added salt. And I admit I do like more salt than most people so that's probably on me not the chef. Besides the bad happy hour wine, my one other beef with this restaurant is that at the table next to myself and my mother were two young women. They spoke loudly and used a lot of profanity the entire time we were there, and the topic of their conversation was not always something I wanted to hear about, sexual and nature. I did my best to give non-verbal signals to the waitress that this language 12 inches away from myself and my elderly mother was uncomfortable, but she either didn't notice or ignore. I don't think I would go back, between the wine shenanigans that were pulled on me and the waitress being so insensitive to the very cozy environment, I mean you were practically touching the people next to you, I'm just not sure it's worth the prices.
100% Vegan. So I can have ANYTHING on the menu. Amazing! Me and my husband had the Soup of the day with red peppers, Bread & Butter as an Appetizer. Jamaican Wrap and Red Pepper Quiche for the main course. It was so delicious and tasted fresh. We loved it and enjoyed the time with some red Sangria 😊Definitely coming back.
I came here with my girlfriend and a few people we know for her birthday. I am not a vegetarian but I do like my vegetables. There wasn't much on the menu that I thought I would like, but I did find the Macho Burrito and it was great. The waitress was also very nice.
TL;DR: Over-priced in my opinion. Two terrible dinners, decent sandwiches, if they weren't over-priced.
The first meal I had was the mother's day brunch, and it was excellent! It was a long time ago.
The other two dinner meals I've had recently were terrible. I ordered olive oil, fig, and fennel pizza. The fennel was tough, the dough tasteless, and the pizza over-priced. The other time I ate here, I ordered lasagna, it had daya cheese and didn't taste at all like lasagna (I've had better vegan lasagna), and was over-priced.
If it were cheaper... No, I still wouldn't go here.
They make decent over-priced sandwiches, not excellent, but decent.
The food was great but the service was horrible. Employees were mostly standing around talking.
My absolute favourite restaurant. Plum Bistro is a small restaurant offering some big flavour! I recommend trying anything and everything - if it's Plum Bistro, it's going to be amazing. While the options are all vegan, it is a perfect destination for any diet!
Phenomenal food served in a gorgeously decorated location.
The portions are generous and the prices are favor but it's the flavors that will keep you coming back for more :)
The food is delicious, but the service wasn't great. The restaurant was packed but it seemed they only had two waitresses working. We were brought the wrong appetizer and one of our meals was wrong. We waited about 10 minutes to begin eating because we wanted the meal corrected (mostly in case we got another couple's order so we could switch back), but the waitress didn't come back until we needed to pay the bill.
(I'm not faulting the waitress, like I said, the place was swamped. But the fact remains that service was lacking.)
With that said, the food is 10/10. The seitan wings they brought as an appetizer instead were incredible. The barbecue sauce was delicious. My boyfriend got the tofu jerk burger and it was hands down the best tofu I've tried. My pizza was pretty good, not as good as the burger though and not the best vegan pizza I've tried.
This restaurant has incredible food, but is a bit overpriced for what it is. The already-high prices on the menu are misleading because they don't include the restaurant's required 20% tip (and service was fairly slow as well). Overall though, if price and speed are not factors, the food was delicious.
Good food, but only OK service and you're forced to pay a 20% service charge. Considering that, it was pretty annoying that our server couldn't even figure out how to split our check, and brought us all bills with the wrong food on them.
Such a treat!! The food is carefully prepared with super fresh ingredients. We were a group of 4 and everything we ordered and tasted was delicious!!
This place has some very good food. Everything we had was really yummy. It is a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. It's a good place for a date night or special occasion. They also automatically add the tip to your bill, so keep an eye out for that. I didn't realize this until after I left a $20 tip, but my waitress was good, so I didn't mind!
What a wonderful, tasty meal and plenty of ambiance, too. Yes, it's popular and a bit tight between tables, but so worth it! The food is excellent, well prepared and well presented. Gourmet vegan food, plenty of GF options including desert. Fabulous!
I really wanted to love this place. It had a great reputation and I don't go to vegan restaurants often.
Ambience is good. Weather was nice so they opened the garage style doors and we sat in the open space.
They were quite busy and the service was a little slow.
We had the breakfast slam; pancakes, syrup, sausage, tofu scramble. Everything was tasty and well seasoned. The scramble was a little spicy for me and the pancakes were under cooked. A bit underwhelming for the price. Portion side was generous.
Some meals that I saw on other tables looked very good but I didn't taste them.
The dinner menu looked appealing with items such as fried "fish" and lemon caper tofu picatta.
I will probably return one evening and give out another chance.
I originally gave this restaurant 3 stars but after leaving 3 out of our party of 4 became nauseous, got stomach cramps and I had diarrhea.
Wandered in here by accident after driving for 3 hours from Vancouver. Was surprised it was vegan, but decided to give it a shot anyway. Was not disappointed. I got the burrito and it was delicious. Filled me up just right. A little off-put by the 20% automatic tip charge, but because the service was fantastic I was going to tip that anyway.
I'm a new vegetarian and this was first time eating at a vegan restaurant and I have to say the service was really nice. I order the Jamaican wrap and it wasn't what I was expected tofu texture wise and flavor wise. It was made great. I think I just went too hard on the food choice and should of stuck to a beginners salad since I'm not completely used to this type of food just yet :) The waiters were super sweet about it and took it off for me. The atmospher was nice as well.
Good Vegan food. Prepare to wait to be seated especially on weekend evenings. We probably waited around 40min or so. Service was good. I had a portabella mushroom burger and was a bit greasy and salty for my taste. Dessert was delicious.
The food is fantastic. A bit heavy for vegan food as things are fried, loaded with sauce, or very bread heavy, but all in all the tastes were superb. I imagine they have lighter fares as well. We tried items off the happy hour menu and the shrimp, oyster mushrooms, and bbq sliders were the best!
Absolutely amazing, my favorite in Seattle and probably the best vegan restaurant I have ever been to. The selection and quality is incredible. I went also with some non vegan friends and they were also amazed by it. Totally recommended! Leave some space for dessert, it's worth it!
The vibe was really chill and the staff was extraordinary!!! So friendly and attentive! I'm honestly not sure what to rave more about the staff or the food...macho burrito was PHENOMENAL! A must visit spot while in Seattle 😁
Great vegetarian food,I enjoyed the number of options. The service was friendly and fast, but not rushed. Nice seating outside as well, which was lovely. Food was good, and drink options were good as well. Definitely a good place to go when in Seattle for the vegetarian crowd... Good for dinner with friends or lunch with a contact.
I've been to Plum Bistro at least one hundred times since Ms. Howell opened the restaurant. My wife and I have always appreciated the food. The service was never top-notch, but the food always more than made up for it. Until Ms. Howell established the 20% service charge. While the food is still terrific, the service has gone from passable to unacceptable.
I used to always tell friends they should dine at Plum Bistro, but now I'm afraid they will be offended by the staff. If you're OK with being treated poorly while paying 20% for the privilege, you'll still enjoy the great food.
My wife and I are not the only ones who are pursuing other options now that the service at Plum Bistro has become so atrocious. We'd love to hear that the 20% service charge has been removed. At least then, if we go back, we wouldn't suffer the injury of paying 20% for the privilege of being ignored and dismissed by the staff.
Extraordinary food, made by a fantastic chef. I have never had a bad meal here. The menu used to change seasonally, I'm hoping that comes back soon! There aren't a ton of vegan restaurants around and the menu diversity was nice. Definitely try the mac and yease!
It might cost a little more, and you will have to wait...guaranteed. Plum is worth every extra cent spent and every extra minute spent waiting. The brunch menu is excellent and surprisingly filling for vegan food. One of the best MEALS I have had, anywhere.
Surprisingly delicious. My boyfriend went vegan and has been talking about visiting this place for weeks now. Typical downtown Seattle parking luckily there's a parking garage right across the street. We went around 9 on a weekend the wait was about 15 minutes. Waiting outside the glass window in the lobby area you can tell the young hipsters go here. The waiter waved us down through the window to sit us and sadly we were sat at a table for two in between seven people, couples on either side of us. If you're claustrophobic let the host know from the beginning. Very intimate setting. We waited about 10 minutes for our appetizer which was the macaroni and yease. Oh my God so delicious! They bring you out a green bottle of Seattle water and the water has cucumber and some kind of citrus fruit in it. We had some sort of alcoholic drink with some sort of Ginger inside it was okay 18 bucks for a double shot and it actually tasted like juice. I ordered a Africa salad and lasagna the Africa salad is so large should be shared between two to three people. I was so full off of the salad I couldn't even eat my lasagna. They wrapped up the lasagna in foil for me to eat later. Our bill was $160 for the two of us so don't go here if you plan on being cheap.
Amazing food, but crazy expensive. Fairly large menu with lots to choose from. Food was delicious and high quality. Waiters were efficient and did their job well, but not the most friendly. Expect to spend around $18-25 for an entree. Over all a good experience!
Really excellent food. I'm not vegan and was skeptical as to whether I'd like the food. I was blown away by how yummy everything was. Seating is very limited, so reservations are essential.
I absolutely love this place. I only wish everything was not only vegan, but also gluten free. The Mac and Yease is fabulous and can be made gluten free. If you eat a plant-based diet, this is one of the best places to eat in Seattle.
Simply exceptional. Came here for my anniversary dinner and was not disappointed. Superb food, ambience, and staff. Our waiter even gave us a complementary drink in regards to the special occasion. Had been here once before, will definitely be back.
This is the best fine dining vegan restaurant in Seattle in my opinion. The burgers are so delicious and feature interesting an colorful flavor combinations. You MUST try the Mac'n'Yease. It's absolutely delicious. Highly recommended for a big date or Anniversary as it can be a bit spendy. Appetizers are around $10 and most entrees are $18 - $25.
My friend recommended this place as his favorite neighborhood vegan spot so i decided to get some take out and I was not disappointed! While I waited I was treated very well by the barista guy who offered me water. I ordered the miso fish and was amazed by how good the flavors worked together. I wish there was this type of veggie option in Austin! Will definitely come back when I’m back in Seattle
Absolutely incredible brunch menu, it would get 5 stars if it weren't for the very salty food. For some reason the cooks seem to love salt and there's a ton of it in most dishes, just something to be aware of especially those who are sensitive to it.
The food here is decent, the atmosphere is ok, but honestly they are insanely over priced! 14$ for a tiny amount of Brussels sprouts. 12$ for a tuna can size of Mac n cheese. My husband asked for buffalo sauce for his pizza and they charge you for it. Which you don't find out until the bill comes. There is a service charge now. No matter the size of your party. So your already over priced dinner has an extra charge tacked onto it. There are better vegan options that are reasonable in seattle.
Entitling that hot my mouth was outstanding! If I could get this everyday I can be a vegan. This place is a must for anyone regardless of you preference (vegan, vegetarian, or meat eater). The best!!!!
Seattle has a bunch of vegan options so I had to choose wisely when visiting Seattle from San Francisco because we don't have as many options. I chose Plum because it was in a good location (across from the Unicorn bar!) and the menu looked delightful. Well it was super delicious and in a quaint restaurant with plants on the walls and a great vibe. I highly recommend especially if you're a tourist and have limited time!
Some of the absolutely best and most creative plant based food I've eaten! If you can make brunch, I highly recommend it! The citrus blueberry French toast is the best I've eaten, vegan or not. The beetroot and ricotta ravioli was wonderful and the dry rubbed Moroccan spiced seitan was just as good. Great options for anyone, plant based or not. Definitely worth a visit.
This place is what vegan (food) dreams are made of! I had such a hard time deciding because there were so many good options but I went with the “fish” bowl which was seaweed wrapped tofu over a grains, greens & veggies bowl with a fresh & light lemon dressing. Two people in my party got the Ruben and both loved it. My vodka, cardamom & coconut cream cocktail was perfection! I definitely want to come back and try tons more!
Amazing food and great service, too! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was ordering an additional meal to take with me. My family of meat-eaters brought me here for my birthday. They all resolved to bravely 'take one for the team' and consoled themselves with the thought of 'frying up some bacon as soon as we get home.' Everyone CLEANED their plates! The meals were flavorful and the portions satisfying. The whole family agrees this place is on our list to revisit.
Everything was so good . My daughter with dairy allergy had no worries and enjoyed her hamburger . I got the bbq hamburger so yummy. Our waitress was super awesome and friendly . Oh and the cauliflower bites and mac and yeas i believe they were called were so delicious. Much love from us in California .
We went late brunch time on Sunday and was initially told we couldn’t be seated without the full party of 4 (we were three initially), but then we did get seated with just the 3 of us.
To be honest we did not realize this place was a vegan restaurant until after receiving our table. We thought shrimp scampi was indeed....shrimp scampi. But we went with it upon revelation. The place food is decent, it’s just so overpriced especially with no actual meat options. The Cajun fried okra although good for being fried had no Cajun flavor or spice level. Unfortunately we would not visit again
Lot's of fun dishes here, just felt like they were a little more variable. We got two appetizers and two dishes for three people which seemed pretty good. The pizza was easily the favorite and then some mixed feelings on the others across the board. Would recommend trying this place if something stands out, but again, little more variable as far as it being what we had expected and wanted.
I've been to 3-4 Vegan restaurants, and this is BY FAR the best one I've been to. Everyone's meal was delicious. I'm not vegan, but I'd go back here any day. Plus, our server was really nice.
It's also surprisingly affordable considering the quality of the food (~$15 per plate). We went during lunch.
Had brunch here around 10:30. Got seated rather quickly with great service. We had the breakfast slam, candied bacon waffle, and the crepes. Everything was more than delicious and very filling. Will be coming back again!
First let me say, I am not a Vegan. I have had Vegan food before and I found it lacking in flavor so I was suspicious. I was so wrong! The flavor of the food was tantalizing and distinct. Each bite brought new flavors and delight. The atmosphere was bright and inviting. The kitchen crew was on top of everything and were moving non-stop making sure everything was ready for the next customers. As a Crew Chief myself I found it refreshing that the dishwashers/busboys were aware of what needed to be done and when. What a great crew! I will be back for sure!
So glad to have found this place! This is absolutely top notch vegan food, with interesting flavors, fresh ingredients, and ingenious combinations.
Portions are also perfect size. We ordered three entrees and one serving of yam fries for three people for lunch, and one of us even had to take half their sandwich to go.
We were seated immediately, staff was very attentive and friendly, and we were more than pleased with everything we ordered! I will absolutely be back.
I was there with for a birthday party. I was a little skeptical as I'm a meat eater. The server hooked me up after a short conversation and I got the Americana. Wow it was great. Tried a couple of the other dishes and they were very flavorful but mine was the best. The "meatballs" looked great too.
I'm a pretty hardcore meat eater. Now that's on the table I will without a doubt say, this isn't just good vegetarian, it's just plain fantastic food period. Great portion size, our server was very nice and knowledgeable of not only ingredients for people with sensitivities but also the cookikng process and prep work to make good recommendations based on patron tastes and meal modifications. Their American guy hamburger (field roast brand patty) would pass as a real high end burger anywhere and their shrimp scampi is flat out one of the best I've had in 10 years (they make their veggie based shrimp on site daily and if you you didn't tell someone it was plant based they would not know. Color, texture, flavor, shape, etc are exactly spot on with real shrimp)
Great vegan place. Not even a vegan and I give this place two thumbs up!
Mac and "cheese" is famous, and deservedly so. Everything else looked great too. Friendly staff.
Pricey, but worth it if you're willing to spend more.
I would drive to Seattle just to have another burger from there! It was amazing. Definitely one of the best vegan burgers I've ever had! As a side thought, the gnocchi left something to be desired. I will definitely go here again.
The portion sizes are not worth the price of the evening menu. The food was good overall, slightly unseasoned but nothing a little salt and pepper can’t fix. Atmosphere of the place probably was the best thing about it, very welcoming and inviting staff. Although any place that automatlicly charges a gratuity to the bill for a table under 6 people drops the rating down even more. I would like to go back during the day time to see if the menu is different. But definitely falls very low on my challenge to try everything vegan Seattle has to offer!
Loved this place. One of the best tasting food I ever had. The chef really goes one step further when it comes to innovation in vegan food.
A tiny bit expensive, but mostly because it tasted so good we couldn't stop ordering more. Wasn't disappointed by even a single dish.
Will love to go there again on my next visit to Seattle.
We received stellar service, got our food very quickly. I was very impressed with the vegan dishes my wife and I had. I had the ginger pomegranate fish and my wife had tempeh vermouth. The star of my dish was the sauce on the fish. It had tangy spice to it. I was blown away. The ice cream apple was delicious. It was a perfect serving for two. I can't wait to come back.
We came in early quick for happy hour. Really nice vegetarian options. I wanted to try them all!
I tried the "fish" tacos, yum! My mom had the fries, also yummy.
The customer service was probably my favorite part. He was kind, helpful and went the extra mile when I left my parking receipt there and had to come back.
I'd be back!
The food is delicious, the dining area is comfy and cozy. The staff really cares that you get the right meal for your body. I recommend this place to vegans, vegetarians, as well as carnivores who realize that meat should not be the part of every meal.
Easily the nicest restaurant I've ever been to.
The plates are specially curated and it shows. Creations that you've never conceived become absolute highlights of you eating career.
If you're just visiting, you don't have a choice.. You're legally obligated to come here. And if you live here, understand how lucky you are to enjoy this gastronomical / dining masterpiece.
Great food and atmosphere!
Just moved to Seattle and was looking for my new vegan restaurant to go to. I believe this is it.
My mother who was with me (she is not vegan) enjoyed the food.
Reasonably priced and portions are big!
Service was excellent as well. I will be back!
Tried the mama africa salad here, it was very well made. The place is usually busy with longer wait times, so I took a seat at the bar. I’m going to come back for the mushroom burger, it was flavorful as well.
Meal was good tasting with generous portions. We had great service and our expectations were met! Would recommend for vegans out there and omnivores alike. Four stars because a cut below fine dining during our experience. My meal was good but missed the mark for being a 5 star wow experience. Would try again though!
Delicious food and friendly service. Our hostess was great and gave us a call on our cellphone when our table was ready. Expedient waiter who was polite. The appetizers were awesome as was the main course. I particularly liked the okra appetizer.
A heads up, a 20% gratuity is added to the check for all parties. We were a party of two.
Vegan deliciousness perfected whether you want breakfast or lunch. Slightly leaning towards the wrong side of packed when it gets busy, but so worth it. Waffles are absolutely amazing, just like everything else on offer. Service is phenomenal. Went here three times over a short visit and would've gone for every meal if it had been allowed :)
This omnivore thoroughly enjoyed her brunch at Plum Bistro. The mac&yease is impossibly creamy. The portobello mushroom in the veggie slam was perfectly cooked and the cheesy potato cakes are addicting. The tofu scramble was as good as an egg scramble, the hash browns were nice and crispy. The pancakes were fluffy too. Didn't miss the meat at all.
The venue and the food was amazing! The calamari tastes like there is an actual squid inside. The Mac and cheese was a bit oily but tasted amazing, I especially liked the tacos.
Everything is a bit pricey for happy hour meal! We ordered 5 meal kinda like tapas to share and paid $110 with drinks for three and tips 20% which was already included in the meal. Drinks were okay, I had a margarita which was just average.
All in all it was a good lunch but much more pricey than anticipated.
I love Plum Bistro. The food is amazing and really does great things for vegan cuisine. They have a lot of great options for gluten free eaters as well. The stand out from the menu for me is the jerk tofu sandwich or anything with their plant-based shrimp. I would warn any potential visitor that this place is pricey, though it is clear that your money is going toward a former experience and a restaurant that tried to create a great place to work for its staff. Lastly, I'd also point out that the space is beautiful and forth right in to the aesthetic at Chophouse Row.
Started a vegan diet this month. This spot showed me how delicious vegan meals can be with the right creativity. Drinks might be a bit overpriced for what the are, but they're good. Recommend any curious about trying vegan food. You'll realize it's not so bad and instead can be delicious!
Holy cow this place is absolutely delicious! I'm not vegan but took my daughter who is, and family to celebrate her birthday. I was blown away with the unique flavors and just overall yumminess! Kudos!
Great food and excellent cocktails. Wait service friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely would recommend.
I'm a proud carnivore. Nothing in this world is better than bacon. But this place was amazing. The mac n yeas was better than any real macaroni and cheese I've ever had. The "calamari " was delicious! Will definitely be going back.
This place is okay. The food is good, but I wouldn't say it's what would make me come back. The tables are all crammed next to each other too so we can all hear each others' conversations. However, I like that the outside wall is open. I also once ate really good blueberry pancakes here that I would go back for. What makes me come back, however, is that I can actually eat everything on the menu (vegetarian) and sometimes I do not feel like browsing restaurants in Seattle and having to scan all the menus.
I was thrilled to visit Plum Bistro after planning my Seattle trip around vegan foods. I tried the “calamari”, the fries, and the macaroni. And I have to tell everyone that macaroni and cheese was the best dish I’ve ever had hands down. Vegan or not - that macaroni changed my life. I expect more from every other plate of vegan mac I enjoy now.
Service was okay, but food was terrific. I would’ve ordered more, but the prices were higher than some of the other all-vegan restaurants I had the pleasure of visiting.
100% vegan and organic? 100% delicious!
Plum Bistro has an incredible menu that tastes amazing and is located in a lovely neighbourhood. It's especially a nice spot to visit during Happy Hour.
We went here during Happy hour and ordered a few drinks and dishes. The Oyster Mushroom Calamari is delicious and would convince many that it's the real thing. The spiciness of the Cajun Mac is noticeable, but bearable for even the most sensitive of palettes. The Seitan Skewers were great as well, but left me wanting more.
Although delicious, I'd be lying if I said the prices weren't steep. Even during Happy Hour, the prices are comparable to what you'd expect to pay at supper time.
This place has something for everyone, vegan or not. Just make sure that the prices suit you before you decide to dine.
My wife and I have been here over a dozen times and we absolutely love it. The service is great! The food is phenomenal and the menu regularly changes. Moreover, each item on the menu is very unique and creative. My personal favorite is the tempeh vermouth, but my wife also loves the pizza. We love Plum Bistro!
Was really excited to try this place and I did but wasn't that impressed. The sandwich was okay but the accompanying salad had squishy spinach that was well past it's prime. I will try something else on the menu next time but I do hope they make some changes and train people to serve high quality food.
Positives: delicious food and vegan
Negatives: cost us $50 for 2x standard plates and a cup of coffee. Service was very slow probably because they automatically take 20% for gratuity. Portions were small too and I had to get something else to eat.
Plum Bistro was astoundingly excellent. We got there in the nick of time to order off the happy hour menu and -- WOW -- we were really lucked out! We also ordered off the regular menu and everything was scrumptious. On top of that, the waitstaff were sweet and delightful. Makes me almost want to move to Seattle!
I’ve been coming to this place for years. This is the kind of food that just melts on your taste buds, whether you’re going in for a Sunday brunch or a birthday dinner. The presentation of our meals even looks like a work of art; it looks as good as it tastes. I even have the cookbook, so that I can make something as delicious. The decor in this chic restaurant is soothing. When it’s warm, you can dine outside.
There is a 20 percent service fee on all checks, so that’s a heads up. And the restaurant can get full, so there’s often a wait. I still think it’s worth it.
As a Southern gal (and frequent meat-eater) visiting vegan friends in SEA, I was anxious when we came here for breakfast. When I say I had the BEST SOUTHERN SLAM ever, I mean it. I could eat here every day, and I'm definitely keen on vegan food now. The atmosphere was also SO COZY yet open. Do not miss!
Absolutely amazing dinner.. it was flavourful and so many good options on their menus. We got engaged the afternoon before coming in, so we could celebrate and I can't think of a better dinner we could have had. Very special, and the server was lovely. This would've absolutely been a 5 star rating had it not been for the tipping issue once we got our bill. We spent a good amount of there was an automatic 20% service charge (applicable for even a table of two) that said it went to the restaurant and then also had a section to add a tip. Taxes were also on top of this. So with their 20% service charge not even going directly to our server, but to the business. Our bill wound up being an extra almost $60 after all was said and done.
Amazing vegan food. Great taste and do try their maceneese (Even if you don’t like Mac n cheese). One of the best flavors that any vegan restaurant can offer!
Absolutely delicious. It's pricey, but worth it especially if you want great vegan food. Small, cozy, and trendy, it's a great place for a first date if you aren't sure about dietary restrictions.
This food was so good and filling! It took us a long time to decide what we wanted because everything looked so good! We were very pleased with the cinnamon roll pancakes and the apple sausage hash. Yummmm
The first time I visited Plum Bistro was for brunch with my aunt and grandmother. I had an excellent experience. All of the food we ordered was delicious! The staff was very kind and accommodating. I even got the chance to compliment the chef. When visiting for a second time, I went for dinner. I wasn't as impressed, which is why I gave it a 4-star rating. The food was not as great this time around. Also, I noticed that our waitress was more attentive to her other tables than ours. I'll probably take my chances with their lunch menu one day, but as for now, I would only recommend their brunch.
Incredible, healthy vegan food, and an all around great dining experience. Came here for lunch, had the yam chips, the buffalo cauliflower and the avocado pizza. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. They also have a full bar. Highly recommended!
Saving the world is very expensive, and Lisa invited me into her living room, it looked like a kitchen and the floor was covered in blood. Not real blood. She was eating a delicious sandwich but it was very messy. It's true, I dropped two weeks worth of pay into her cushions in order to tell her story, but I get paid very little, and everyone wants me to tell the story of the angry carnivore that is my brother and best friend, Seymour. I don't care about that. He has a jet ski, no big deal. He can practically float. Something Lisa and I have in common, we carry heavy burdens but some of us just don't have the cash to shove down our throats. You know what I mean? This is symbolic.
Showed up on a Saturday for three. Sat down at 615 served at 915. We watched parties of three same number and fewer seated, served, and left while we were waiting. Server didn't ask if we wanted more drinks and we had to keep asking for water. Unfortunately it tuned out that she hadn't put in our order. Food was fine, room temperature, but very poor service. They comped drinks which covered the extra time for parking. I know this was likely a rare experience but I felt very like the serving staff and manager didn't care and I was even told "no one expects to be here for three hours" even though no one else in the restaurant had. Such a shame this wonderful restaurant couldn't handle a simple misstep well.
Great and inventive food. A little on the loud and crowded side for my taste because of the floor/wall design. Some patrons' seats were practically touching. Also not the best service I've experienced in Seattle (although the bill came with a note that the service charge applied goes to paying all workers a fair rate above minimum, and I still tipped, because I'm not a jerk).
I was a little hesitant about eating at a strictly vegan restaurant, because meat, but the food is delicious and I can't wait to come back. Service great as well, set in a cool, cozy setting. Give it a try!
I love Plum Bistro! I have brunch here almost every time I spend the night in Seattle. It's a tiny little place, but it's fantastic! The dinner is also delicious. The cocktails are beautiful and the food presentation is lovely. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
Super yummy food. The salad was huge, with a beautiful presentation. The “meats” seem to be made from scratch and really taste amazing. the kebabs were pretty small, especially for $30. That was the only disappointing part of the meal. I love the farm to table idea and I’m glad their employees make a liveable wage. I left inspired to cook more from scratch!
If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would! This is my second time here since I visited Seattle two years ago and the place is still amazing. It's a small and cute restaurant situated in a multi-business complex. The food is absolutely to die for and one of the best vegan spots in Seattle. We ordered from their lunch menu. The food is flavorful, aesthetically pleasing, and the portions are not that big which allowed us to try more than 2 dishes. All the dishes are healthy and beautifully presented. I did notice that the place charges a service fee which does not go to the server, just as an FYI. Of course, we still tipped the server but this is one of the few vegan joints in Seattle where we saw the service fee.
The restaurant was very well organized and decorated. All of the food coming out looked quite good and the dishes we ordered were definitely delicious. The service was informative but slightly robotic. The prices here are on the higher end, but I would say it's worth a try due to the quality of food and ambiance presented.
Went for lunch and had a great time. Had to wait less than 10min for table. Cauliflower dish lacked flavor but was good in every other way. Burrito was good (would like to see some more hot sauce options) Service by male server was excellent! Great job!
I got the soup of the day for $9. It was roasted red bell pepper soup and sounded good.
It was very disappointing.. watery, over salted, and not one slice of bread!
I thought they forgot the bread, because my friend had some (her dish did NOT need it, it was already a bunch of potatoes) I got to taste a bite of my friends dish and it was good, which is why I didn't give Plum 2 stars. My friend also gave me a slice of her bread to enjoy, so nice.
For 9 dollars, c'mon, throw a piece of bread on there, and step up the quality.
I'm sure other dishes are good there, but I don't want to spend money somewhere where getting a good dish is a chance, and I'm taking a risk.
One of the best vegan restaurants I've ever been to anywhere in the country. The atmosphere was cozy and modern, the staff was excellent. I ordered the truffle gnocchi and it was both decadent and delicious.
We got the classic Reuben, rosemary fries, and Cajun spice Mac and cheese. The Reuben was very flavorful and filling. The quantity of the fries is great and tastes alright as well. The Mac and cheese is good but $15 for such little quantity is very steep. Wouldn’t recommend the Mac and cheese for the price to quantity ratio.
The only downside to Plum is that it is BUSY! It is often a wait to get a table, but as long as you plan in the extra time you will not be disappointed. The food is FANTASTIC for both vegans and non-vegans alike. The plating is beautiful and the service is excellent.
Both before and after the Pandemic, Plum is in my very short list of favorite vegan restaurants, and probably my top choice for the Seattle area. Yes, the food is a little expensive (but not outrageous!), and yes it is absolutely worth it. Oh, the drinks are good too.
Just got take out tonight and it hit the spot! I had the Classic Reuben which was an incredible burst of all the right flavors-sauce was divine and the kraut was perfect! My husband has the Bahn Mi which he loved. Excited to try more. Their customer service is beyond amazing for pick up-Eddie brought it out to my car and gave me some tips about ordering for my kiddo next time. Thanks for such a great experience!
Amazing, delightful and delicious! Order several menu items and all were so good! Will definitely bring order from again (dining in when open). Excited and curious to try their other dishes.
Been to the truck a number of times finally paid the bistro a visit. I had the yam and chickpea flatbread and the Get on the Greyhound cocktail. The HH...read this and 1231 more
