How would you rate Relish?
Food was delicious! I suggest the turkey wings. The collard greens are a little on the seat side but good nonetheless. The atmosphere is cool. Its like 3 restaurants in one. My only complaint is that it gets a little tight space wise. Our first table was very cramped but the staff was amazing and accommodated us to move our table. I'd go again!
It's decent. If you want good food and good service, the best time to go is in the middle of the week when they're not busy. Friday to Sunday, they are extremely busy and space is very tight. They don't handle the weekend rush well. The food doesn't taste as good on the weekends, tastes rushed and underseasoned. Alot of their staff is fake nice with fake smiles and slightly passive-aggressive. If you're more interested in the music, then do the weekends but make a reservation or you will be waiting an hour to sit.
My meal was totally DELICIOUS! I would recommend this restaurant 2 every1 who loves DOWN HOME COOKING! ;-D
The Sunday buffet is really good with wide variety of selections. I stick with the fish and potatoes mostly. The atmosphere is always friendly. The crowd can be large but the patrons are courteous and help the flow. When we have gone for dinner we have been seated quickly and served efficiently. The servers are warm and attentive. We have been there for dinner and jazz and enjoyed the whole experience. I like the fruit drinks that are creative and presented well. My husband and I are regulars at various times.
The restaurant had a nice set up , but when my food came the collard greens at no season on it my maccoroni taste like sour milk it was just horrible a waste of my money and every body that attend the dinner all dislike there food. I will never go again so disappointed I waste my money and time.
Service was horrible. Everyone in my party received their food 1 hour before I did. I ended up leaving without being fed. My friends did not enjoy the food.. They said the food was bland and terrible. The cornbread on the other hand was good. I will never go there again. They need to fire the entire staff and start over.
The food was really good. Service was pretty good, but the food is a bit pricey. There is also a very limited selection of items on the menu.
This place is off the hook!! I made my reservation on 2/13 an I wanted to propose to my lady. They set everything up for me. They had the flowers I ordered on the table. The service and the food were beyond outstanding!! I suggest visiting this place!! You won't be disappointed :-)
@Keasia McCoy~ please explain to me how is that even remotely Relish the establishment or Relish/Owners fault? You have got to be kidding me!!! Your situation could have occurred in where in America. Also, what does your GPS have to do with your situation. I mean really you could have said I wear a size 6 shoe...totally irrelevant.
without a doubt one of the best brunches i have ever experienced.
Arrived on a late Saturday night was seated right away. First time visiting Relish and was pretty impressed. Server, atmosphere, live performance and food was good. We ordered the turkey wings, mashed sweet potatoes and cabbage, Excellent!! Also the lamb shank, Mac and cheese and greens all was well prepared and seasoned. The greens needed a little love but they weren't bad. Had the caramel cheesecake with extra strawberries. The cheesecake was okay I prefer not to have it flamed on the top but all in all our experience was enjoyable.
With this being my second visit to Relish, I was quite disappointed. The initial issue came when we were sat in the corner near the kitchen. The next issue came when the waiter passed by and said he would be right back and did not return for 10 minutes, which is after we complained to another server! The food was good, and the evening was saved slightly by the live entertainment which was great!!! I would challenge the management/owners to really look at operations and the overall execution on the guest experience!!!!
Nice restaurant... buffet style eating. Everything I had was good. Would highly recommend this place for gathering, birthdays, family get together's, etc.....
Came from New York with a party of 5. Love the atmosphere, music and service. The food is good too, but entirely too salty and spicy. Most Blacks suffer from high blood pressure and diabetes. Black owned restaurants should know that and go soft on the salt and sugar. Let people salt or not themselves. Maybe you can ask if they want unsalted food so they can salt to their own taste. Other then this, we enjoyed ourselves and will be back.
Food was a bit salty and the service was the worst. We made reservations two weeks prior, but ended up waiting for about 45-50 mts to be seated. However the band was the best. They must work on quality customer service and care.
My first time at Relish smh, I went to the bar to pick my order up , I told the bartender that she did not give me back all of my change , she told me oh, we round it off , it's not like , we are keeping your money or anything , you just kept mine so , what do you call it ? I got home , opened up the seafood mac and cheese , it was in a silver round tray that the Chinese food comes in , it was about two cups full of the seafood mac and cheese , when I opened that up , my eyes got so big because , I could not believe that a restaurant would do something like that . Why would you put that little amount of food in that big tray like that When I say it was two cup's of seafood mac and cheese , that's what is was . The cornbread was a different cornbread from the cornbread that I tasted from my coworker , smh it had an ingredient in there that, I had to keep taking out of my mouth , like some apricot's or something , I really didn't care for the cornbread . A lesson well learned . Bye Relish
Thursdays is $19.99 for appetizer entrée & dessert. Food is good. Jazz section isn't thruout the restaurant like other places I've been to where its so loud you can't hear the person speaking right beside you. Fried chicken, bbq chicken, mac & cheese, cornbread, greens, & string beans is what I've had that I enjoyed the cabbage & yams not so much.
I get bottled water instead of tap for those who like bottled water
Ordered through UberEats. Food never came and it took hours to learn food was given away. A complete waste of time and energy. Won't ever order from here again.
Food was ok, last time we was there place smell like a funeral home it was a turn off. Place need some renovations paint, pull up the carpets, brighten up the place a little too dark. I like to see my food while eating. I think this will help the atmosphere a lot more. Overall the customer service is great.
Very very good buffet. Very very crowded too. Despite that they keep a very professional and clean presentation with the flood and seating areas. Extremely impressed with the experience inside, with the parking lot and location in terms of trying to get to the place, not so much. Price is pretty affordable and the staff are professional. If it were easier to get to from where I am and had better parking I'd go back often. For now it would have to be special occasions due to the above. I recommend though.
They're slow, so be sure if you're ordering take out, order it WELL ahead of time. They're Mac and cheese is too fancy for me. I'm not a huge vegetable person, but I liked their greens a lot. I'd go back to try other items. They have wonderful customer service skills nonetheless.
Nice atmosphere, delicious food, good service
13 of us attended a birthday dinner celebration for our Assistant Pastor on 12/8/16. As far as I know, everyone in our party enjoyed their food except for the collard greens, they were too salty. Our waiter Micheal was one of the best I've ever had. He said he was new to Relish. Keep up the good work Mike. I'm going back this Thursday with two coworkers that have never been. YAY!
The food and atmosphere is good. The service is professional. I would have liked to have had a better table, so that I could see the entertainment.
Good and exciting minue, Very clean and comfortable setting with wonderful table service. Highly recommended for a quiet night of good food and live music.
Entertainment good as well as "certain" dishes. The greens and spinach are always mushy, the cornbread has a strange crust, the mashed potatoes are bland and never order the shrimp and grits. However, the braised ribs are good as well as the chicken, fish and fried shrimp dishes. Desserts are ok.. It has a nice ambience with the music and overall appearance..So, total package gets 4 out of 5 but beware of the food above!
Was there for the first time for a birthday dinner, the establishment is surprisingly soacious. The staff was pleasant and well groomed. The entertainment on site was surprisingly good. The menu wasn't diverse in entrees as I would like but if you do a few things great mess with it.
Relish is a buffet-style restaurant. (I don't prefer buffets). Ordering from the menu is not offered on Sundays, which are the only times I've been. They have tasty food on the buffet, something for just about everyone, prepared soul food style, it's pretty fresh n moves very quickly, constantly being replenished. It's busy n noisy but a pleasant atmosphere. The servers are congenial but when your reservation is over, they subtly make you aware, lol. I've always gone with a large group so we make reservations, I'm not sure if smaller groups need to make them also. There is a bar n large flatscreen tvs are on the walls all around this small but enjoyable restaurant.
Sunday Brunch! Fresh and delicious all you can eat brunch, with omelet and waffle stations. The sides were sensational and the meats melted in your mouth. If you haven't been here yet, you are missing out.
Food was indescribably good. The atmosphere was calm and warm. Waitresses served with smiles on third face.
Staffing is always exceptional making everyone feel special. Generally, the food is well prepared. However, my last visit left me feeling like something changed in the kitchen. Their staple cornbread, was salty. The buttermilk fried chicken lacked taste, oil may have been old. The Apple Orchard Walnut Salad was drenched in dressing. This was my worst dinner ever, at the this resturant and I have been a long time customer. Our visit was on 4/8/17 around 6:30/7 pm. I love this place, invest in some interior upgrades like carpet removal and deep cleaning. Also, ensure recipes are followed and presented at every serving.
Food was good. FVC Trio was excellent. Can't believe they only had 1 person working the bar on a live entertainment night though. She was not that great at keeping up with customers but very pleasant when interacting with customers.
Waited for food over an hour and fifteen minutes. When it arrived it was cold and mashed potato sides were hard and dry. Tables were served before us but arrived after us. Food taste was below standard as was the slow service. Everyone at the table got their plates and different times. I won't be back
Came here once for dinner and again for brunch. Their food is very good. We'll seasoned and not greasy.
Everything has consistently been delicious! The servers are warm and friendly, but I can't believe they charge to sit in the area with the live singers! It's high enough!
Relish has a diverse men ranging from Soul, Philadelphia. Their food is authentic, delicious and priced fairly. The place is clean and service is great.
It is a really nice restaurant and the food is great everyone got to try it once in their life good soul food in Mount Airy. This was my third time there and I'm thinking about having a get-together there myself
The Sunday buffet was 100% Great. The food selection was tasteful set, the servers where clean & respectful. The cost was fair & they even had a cheaper take out price 4the buffet ! !! Fried fish, Salmon & red rice, was the Best... my mouth is watering now😀
The food was great the customer service was Fantastic the manager waited on us and gave us a seat within 10 minutes of being there love this place i will be going back
Food was good but they changed the sampler to wingettes instead of the 3 full wings, and smaller portions of the greens & sweet potatoes. Drinks were AWESOME! Server Jamillah is GREAT!
This is one of the finest restaurants I've eaten at. The staff looks the part of fine dining. I recommend anyone looking for great food ,great people and great entertainment to spend some time at this place. Live Jazz and Comedy, I always look forward to going here.
I had the crab cakes and my gf had the mango salmon. The played live jazz for wine Wednesday!!! Half price bottles!!! But one get one half off entree. I couldn't be happier with the service. Smiles all around🍾🍾🍾🍾
The atmosphere is second to none. The food is 5-star quality. The music was slow and seductive. All the ingredients for a wonderful evening.
It seems as if they were over booked. We were hurried out after eating. They had to get ready for another group. Food was tasty. Staff was curtious. I'm not sure if I would suggest this eatery.
If you have never been here, you better get here! We love this place. Our favorite is the brunch. For special events, make reservations EARLY! The staff is AWESOME! HELPFUL TIP...eat the waffles last! If you eat them first you WON'T be able to enjoy anything else. They're filling.
I see whay the fuss is all about. I've been trying to go here for 3 years now. Finally made it and say at the bar, enjoyed the live jazz, the food and drinks were all yummy. I had the appetizer sampler which was like trying a little bit of all the wonderful soul food. This place did not disappoint.
I was impressed! Far exceeded my expectations! Service was professiomal, and the ambiance was mature. The food was hot, and portion size was fair and generous. Looking forward to my next visit
I will start by saying that this place is phenomenal! I say that because the food, ambiance and the service were all excellent, everything we ate and drank was delish! That is definitely a perfect combination for an exceptional dining experience! This is definitely a gem. Initially we were going some where else but ended up here at Relish and I just want to thank Ms. Toosties for rejecting our request for reservation. Our serve India was BOMB, she did not miss a beat, even though she was working a double. We didn't even have request boxes, she was just that good! I am extremely satisfied when my food and service is on point & Relish came through! Big ups to the chef and a management for making sure my aunt was enjoying her special day! Thank you all, we will be back, you have gained some repeat customers! Keep doing it!
Went here for brunch on Sunday really nice experience. They didn't have collard greens and mac and cheese like the website said but it was pretty good food over all. The made to order omelets were nice a little too greasy for my taste. But I loved that you could put whipped cream or strawberries on the made to order waffles.
This place came to me by word mouth I was in the fourth generation handed down by mouth. Each person compliment on the great service, great taste and comfortable atmosphere. I have already shared to other as a must go dining experience. When my associates ask how's the food I just say "It's just good food that helps you wind down" We went as a family group. I will be taking others back again to share our experience. Thank you Relish. Gary B.
Food, ambiance, and waiter service was wonderful. Eric our waiter was very attentive and helpful. The only thing was there was no intimacy. As oftentimes in some restaurants they try and fit more tables for the most business but don't realize they're taking away the intimacy that couples expect and look for.
Had a reservation for seven (all first-timers), only to have one of my friend's purse stolen. We had a bill of $265, which was paid in full, in spite of the robbery. When I confronted the manager, her only response was, we are not responsible for stolen items. I have eaten at way better restaurants, but to not even speak with the victim is unacceptable. I immediately called the owner when I got home, to explain the unprofessionalism of the manager, all he said was thank you. He should have at least ask for her name and number to follow up with the victim. I will never patronize any of Mr. Darryl Green's establishments. The good was so-so, some of it was hot, but some was also cold. A lot of the food listed on the brunch menu was not even offered. Overall it was a bad experience, that I would not wish on anyone. No regard for the customer!!!!
The food is okay. I've had better soul food without the pretentiousness that this place tries to give off. Hubby and i decided to hit up Relish one Sunday as they were opening. The hostess said she couldn't seat us until she sat down the folks that reserved a table. There were no customers in the entire restaurant. After waiting 30 minutes and still no seat and only 2 parties showing for their reservations, we left. None of that was worth a mediocre meal.
This is an upscale jazz restaurant. The service is always top notch. The food is great and the music is always nice. I recommend going for happy hour to hang out or go for an event.
After waiting over 2 hours just to receive our appetizers, (which were not even hot when we received them) the meals that were ordered were not that great. The manager kept bringing out "complimentary" appetizers, but not the actual order or the meals!!! We didn't eat much of what was brought out, as it had a taste and smell of burnt grease/food. When the meals came out, the sides were not what was ordered, the meals again had the taste of burnt grease, so we decided not to eat. The manager said they would adjust some of the bill, but he should've not charged for any of it, especially since they took all the food away that was delivered due to errors, cold food, etc. Very disappointing. The bright side is the corn bread was tasty and the waitress was polite. Overall, very dissatisfied with our experience. Doubt I'll be back!!!
Attended my Aunts 80th Birthday celebration brunch in December 2017, I must say everything that I choose to eat from the buffet was outstanding.
The staff was very professional and I loved the decor of the place. This was my first time eating at this place, but I will be returning..
Food was good could have used a pinch more flavor. Second time and I enjoyed the food better the first time I'm assuming difference in chefs. Only call out is my glass came with lip stick on it and I wasn't even wearing lip stick. It was kindly removed from my bill but restaurants must be attentive to things like that. Other than that I would definitely recommend
I usually love this restaurant. Not anymore, I will not be returning! They're prices went up, the selection of food isn't as much as they used to have. The selection is minimum. They are using too much salt on the food. They run out of the little bit of selections of food that they have. The manager walks around like he doesn't know what to do. The waiter only bring your drinks out to the table. You as the customer have to constantly get up and down to get your food if you want the buffet so that's understandable, and he/she get to get a 18% gratuity charge if you have 4 or more people. Why do they deserve 18%? You may not want to pay that amount. Relish have lost it! I used to tell people about them....believe me I won't anymore!
Extremely good tasting buffet. Freshly made, French toast, waffles and omelets. Service not bad. Decor presentable. Spaces are clean including restrooms. Worth the price, closes down at 3 pm
We went tonight (Sunday) three couples the food was good and the service on time, however since it is Sunday they only had the buffet open. The young man working the desert station was a star. Since we drove over an hour away I can't say I'll come back. Overall everything was good soul food, it just wasn't mind blowing. With tip it came out to 40 dollars a person / 80 per couple.
Food was good for a birthday party of four. Everyone's food was good but mine was a little salty until they fixed by adding a Alfredo sauce on it which was excellent. We are now waiting for the band to perform to end the evening. Thank you Relish and our waiter Damon who by the way, gave excellent service!
The food is awesome. Called before you go can get busy. Service is good, the mangers are very good at there job. Limited menu, soul food. Drinks are mixed well not water down.
My family has been going to Relish for years. Their food is consistently delicious. Cornbread is out of this world- has a sweet crunchy top crust. And their mac and cheese is equally delicious. Definitely a must when visiting Philly.
Went to the Sunday Brunch for My wife's birthday. Food was excellent. Service was friendly and prompt (Patricia was a Joy!) and atmosphere was above average. I'd reccomend. Will be dining here again for sure.
First of all, our waitress, Patricia was wonderful and very outgoing!! She offered her opinions when it seemed I just couldn't make up my mind. Regardless of how large another group was, she never let our group of 3 feel forgotten about. She did a wonderful job! The music was everything we could have wanted and more. We went before the live music started but thats just fine!!! The cornbread is out of this world and my hips have another enemy!! Lol!! Everyone loved their entrees. If I could offer only 1 suggestion it would be to have other appetizers on the menu. Portion sizes were more than enough! Great atmosphere as well. We will be returning for sure.
5/5! Wow what a local treasure this fine dining restaurant is but not your typical over priced menu. Warm beautiful atmosphere with live Jazz music! Efficient and friendly customer service both hosts and server (we had Christian and he was fantastic)! The food was the cherry on top, absolutely divine! We started with the wings and cornbread skillet both were amazing; for entrees we ordered the lamb and salmon both were perfect portions and cooked just right! I highly recommend Relish and can’t wait to dine again soon!!
Food is excellent!! Staffing and order timing, not so much. They already under staffed around the time I've been, maybe under-trained as well but kind and doing their best. Expect amazing food and drink with a long wait.
Horrible service, food was great. We waited 45 minutes to be seated with high expectations of a good time. Once we were seated we waited another 25 minutes to be greeted by our server. We was more than satisfied with the food but our overall experience was just ok.
Was visiting Philly and loved this spot. Kristin our waitress was excellent,
Food was phenomenal, music perfect. Will surely visit whenever we're in town.
I was disappointed in the food. They were out of pepper jack cheese so everything I picked (3 tries) they couldn't prepare. However, the service was great and the waitress gave us free cake for our long wait and not having what I ordered. She was AMAZING! The music was REALLY good. If it wasn't for the lack of food they would have received 5 stars.
Great food, great atmosphere and soft music was playing while we were there. We came to Relish to celebrate our Overseer birthday. We attended the brunch, and the choice of foods were absolutely delicious. I applaud Kellie who made everything perfect, this young lady is beautiful on the outside as well as the inside, great smile, great attitude and very pleasant. My first time at this restaurant, but it will not be my last.WE HAD A GREAT TIME!!🤗🤗😀
I’ve never really ate soul food before - growing up in the really white suburbs of Pittsburgh - never really had a chance to! I was invited to a friends birthday party and after reading the reviews on here and all of the awards they have won - I was really excited! There’s like two rooms that are separated and each had its own jazz band playing. In the room we were in, it was a 3 piece band ( bass, guitar and drums) and at one point they were playing this medley of popular songs form the 90’s - and they transitioned into All About the Benjamins and it was incredible!! So cool to hear that all instrumental! The drinks and food did seem to take a while but we were a party of 19 so it was reasonable and expected. There were at least 3 other big parties celebrating birthdays so taking that into consideration, it was actually quick service. The margaritas were great and if you try anything at all here - GET THE CRAB MAC & CHEESE!! Unbelievable. Also... I’ve never liked corn bread. I’ve only ever tried it at places like Boston market. They brought out this fresh baked corn bread with honey on top I believe and I was in love with it. I can’t wait to go back and get more! The food was incredible and portions were HUGE! By far one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my entire life - I can’t wait to go back and try their award winning brunch!!
I recently visited this restaurant with my lady and some friends. The food was great. I highly recommend the cornbread. Our food did come out late, it's not something that usually happens. The portions are a nice amount. I will be returning. 😎
I went with a work group after work on a Wednesday night. There were roughly 50 of us in total. The wait staff did a great job with making sure we were well taken care of. The musical sounds were great and a few of our colleagues contributed to the entertainment as well. The drinks were great as well. The food was very well prepared and there was an abundance of it. I will be returning back in the future. Job well done Relish...
We went here to celebrate my lil sister's birthday. We had reservations. The drinks were good. The cornbread was the absolute best. The snapper was great. The apple stuffing was the bomb! I didn't get to try the mac and cheese with crab cause it was gone the minute it hit the table. The turkey wings were amazing.
Be prepared for the best meal you will have in your life. I do a lot of catering and dining out for work so I am rarely surprised. This restaurant literally took my breath away; from the amazing food, great service, and live band that played Aretha Franklin tribute songs put me in heaven. I was traveling from out of town and found this place on Google and was curious as to why it has so many stars. Now I know!!!
I absolutely love Relish. We went on a Friday night and it was extremely crowded but we was seated within 10 minutes. Donald was our Waiter and he was on it and extremely helpful and kind. It's a relaxing atmosphere and I can't wait to go again.
Very poor air conditioning. Cold salads were nearby hot food without being placed over ice. Temperature where food is displayed buffet style was unbearably hot.
Weekend cover charge for Jazz seating at bar for non reservation guests needs serious attention. Reserved seating remained empty while paid bar seating customers including our guests weren't given the courtesy of sitting at obvious no show tables!!
Food is tasty, staff will not educate you on their expensive beverages, separate costs and no refills on ice tea. I've visited Relish many times and unfortunately they have no serious competitors, perhaps this is why they remain 3 star?
The outside of the restaurant is so deceiving. It looks like it would be just a regular restaurant from the outside bit that is so untrue. The inside decor is soft, welcoming and relaxing. The staff was very friendly unlim arriving and throughout my dining experience. The food was so delicious! I visited on a Sunday which was a buffet day. I usually don't like buffets just because it's not my style but this was buffet was elegant and classy. Wide variety of foods, fresh fruit and desserts. I highly recommend this restaurant. The parking lot is small bit off street parking compensates for that.
My husband and I came here from Dallas for the Eagles’s game and we were given this recommendation by a NJ friend. The atmosphere, music and food were impeccable. The service was on point from the moment we walked in, very attentive and accommodating. We have been to many soul food places that are always out of something or have mediocre service but this was not the case here. Our food came out hot, fast and delicious! I loved the ambiance and the live music ... next time I’m in Philly - I’ll be back! Thanks for a great evening💕
Was there for a birthday celebration and had a great time. Good atmosphere, there was staff who were very attentive to my gluten free needs...fish fried to perfection in only cornmeal-no flour!! We also enjoyed the karaoke... some folks could really sing!!
I took my girlfriend here for her birthday, and we both loved it! The prices are reasonable. The drinks and food were amazing. Our food came out fast. We loved the performances! I can’t wait to come back.
Went on open mic night. The house band was great. The other talent was mixed from laughable to wonderful. Food was a little high. My friends and I had the mixed platter and it was tasty and sufficient. I had a gin and tonic which wasn't very good. Nice and attractive place, good food on the high side and pretty good entertainment. I'd go back.
I took my guy to eat at this restaurant for his birthday. I had an awesome time. the wait staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was great. I would definitely go back again
Last year for my birthday, I reserved a table for 7 at Relish. Two days before the day, Relish called to say they could not honor the reservation because it was New Year's Eve and they changed their hours to a later time. Also, they informed me if I wanted to reserve a table for a new time, it would be a $10 charge for each person at my table for the band that would be playing. I was devastated! It's still hard to talk about. We ended up going to Olive Garden and had a great time! Relish is a nice place but they can be bougie and cold. I would not recommend this restaurant if you have a special occasion you're celebrating or some important meeting. They'll throw you under the bus to make an extra buck!
I love this restaurant! The food was delicious, and our waiter was very enthusiastic and kind. The Jazz was wonderful as well. The menu was well priced given the fact that live music is in the background. As a side note, I left my purse that had over $150 in it at this restaurant. When I came to retrieve it the next day, everything was in my purse and they were diligently to make sure that I received my purse. There's nothing like a wholesome restaurant with a wholesome staff behind it.
This was my first time there. I had heard mixed reviews about them. I was there with a group of about 30 people. The service was great. Very attentive our party. The food was good. However, the temperature of the food could have been hotter. Our party was in the room off to the side (they had a little stage so guess they have bands there), which meant we were close to the entrance/exit. There was a draft so our food got cold fast. I can't comment on their prices because the host of the party paid lol.
I love the live Soul music while I'm enjoying Great Soul Food. A great neighborhood spot. Although I grew up on Soul Food it's still a nice place to visit because the Ambiance is awesome in the loud music is awesome the corn bread is really good, portions are fair. The chicken livers are to die for so are the shrimp deviled eggs Shucks just about everything is really good there. I still miss Zanzibar blue though.
This is a great restaurant. The food is excellent. The service is top notch, & the atmosphere is very welcoming. The nights that they have live music are the most times I patronize the establishment. I also love the fact that it’s Black owned, the he’s an entrepreneur. I’ve patronized his other businesses as well, & I’ve had the same experience or better.
I just needed to write this because the service I received this evening was remarkable. I am gluten free. Most restaurants and servers don’t seem to care much about this and many times even seem annoyed by the requests. So when I come across service that really takes care, it really is so appreciated.
It was a busy evening at Relish tonight and our server had help bringing out the dishes. I was given a plate that I didn’t know wasn’t GF. Before I could take a bite, the server promptly came over and let me know that it was the wrong one and brought the correct one right away. This may seem like a relatively small thing, but that attention to detail is not the norm and really is appreciated, and in some cases can even be a life saver. So I believe it should be proclaimed. Thank you 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽.... Also the food and entertainment was really enjoyable. Very well done all around 😉
It was buffet style dinner on a Monday. The waitress was extremely nice. For the buffet we paid about $30+tax a plate (no including drinks). It was very quiet and relaxing. Good if you want to have a meeting around 4pm or a after service brunch. Not sure how is it on any different day of the week.
Tonight was my husband and I first time there. The food is insanely good. I had the famous turkey wings and hubby had the stuffed salmon. The atmosphere reminds me of being at Grandma’s house. Very intimate and cozy. Not over decorated like some restaurants. My only complaint is the price of their drinks. A shot of vodka is $11. That’s a no no for me. Other than that, the place is hands down a five star restaurant. Our waiter Antoine was a pleasure.
Relish always has an excellent and delicious variety of food on their Sunday dinner buffet. Antoine is also such a joy! He wasn't my server this time, but he works with such excellence to make your experience at Relish memorable! Kudos y'all!!
I went to Relish for my husband's birthday and all I can say is wow. The food was delicious and the staff was very professional and friendly. I will definitely go back again.
Relish offers an incredible dinning experience. The service is pleasant, hospitable, and relatively fast. The food is amazing and is sized/priced appropriately, the seafood mac and cheese was exceptional. The restaurant is beautiful and and provides a lovely decor throughout. The live music, during specific days I believe, is definitely a bonus.
Great venue, crowd, music and food. Separate dining and entertainment areas. Consistent with the Bynum Brothers standards. A great evening is guaranteed. Wait staff is pleasant and accommodating but actual service is spotty. It's my understanding that you cannot reserve entertainment area but check with staff.
Today was my very 1st visit to Relish, But will Not Be my last. I live in down state Delaware, the Food, Service Was Excellent.Fromthe moment my daughter and I stepped inside. The Hostesses Chefs, Severs, Waiters all are Knowledgeable, Friendly, and Polite. Thank You Relish and Thank Christopher R for serving the two women at the table in front of long table in back. I had the fruit juice cocktail. Thank The Hostess in lavender sweater today
Damn! First time eating in the dining area and I was satisfied. Our server, Brianna, was courteous, gave suggestions, checked on us all with a beautiful smile. The dining area was dim but lit enough to view the menu and see your food. One a day I wanted someone else's cooking Relish did not disappoint. The greens were delicious and the turkey wings almost made slap my dinner companion. Can't wait to go back and see how the bar fares along with the restaurant.
Food is excellent! The lighting and ambience is perfect at brunch. Very professional with a homey feel. In fact, I'm writing this review while still in here! I'll definitely return.
Date night for my husband and I and we decided to take a drive into Philadelphia after hearing about the restaurant from other. Was worth the drive. Very cozy and intimate setting. The ambience was great and the inner decor was very nice. We had a great young server by the name of Eli who made sure that we enjoyed our first time experience. Everything we ate from the appetizer to the main course was delicious. The Turkey wings were truly fall off the bone and well seasoned. The cornbread is a must have. I enjoyed everything bout our dining experience and look forward to going back. The hostess who was at the entrance could have been a little warmer, but hey everyone has an off night. Will be visiting again soon.
Food was really good. The service can improve a little bit. But overall, a very great place to relax, hang out and eat.
The service is absolutely amazing! My sister made reservations for me. One of the best birthdays i ever had. The jazz music was so beautiful not to mention the food is absolutely amazing. One of the nicest black owed businesses in the city. Keep up the great work guys!
The service was great. I ordered the Friend Shrimp. It was fresh and very tasty. We went on a Wednesday night which was Open Mic/Karaoke night. The restaurant was a bit loud with large groups and the Open Mic in the other room, but my guests and I had an enjoyable time.
Relish was PHENOMENAL! The food and service were excellent! I completely enjoyed the live music! The atmosphere was perfect!! I can't wait to visit again!
Great staff. Good food. Okay ambiance. A very popular urban eatery. Live music on designated days. Menu prices reasonable.
Met here with a group of old friends for dinner. Was seated in the room which featured a live band which although made it hard to hear conversation added a nice ambiance. The food of course was delicious and delivered piping hot! The buttermilk dressing on the simple salad was great and the honeyed cornbread didn’t disappoint. I had the seafood bisque soup and salad and the servers were pleasant and attentive.
Great home cooking foods. Space kinda crapped for as busy as they get. Poor air circulation and small parking available. Food was Good!
Service is always nice even when they have a full house. I've had nothing but great experiences here and will keep coming back. The bill was decent. They have a lot of great reviews for a reason.
I went for the new seafood buffet and it was an amazing experience. First off, my friends were late and the reservation couldn’t be held, the lady(black with dreads) told me to wait because they have cancellations. My party arrived, she gave us a table. She was so friendly and professional. We were seated right next to the buffet. Our server was amazing. The chef at the pasta station was very friendly and helpful. I mentioned to the server that they advertised seafood Mac and cheese but didn’t have it. Twenty minutes later, the chef brings out some and apologizes! I didn’t expect that at all. I highly recommend this place. Live music, excellent service, clean and friendly staff. I felt like I was VIP. They add 18% gratuity regardless of party size but we gave 20%. It was worth it.
The food is usually flavorful and plentiful. They sometimes have dinner specials that are well worth the wait. It can be really busy at times. The entertainment is worthwhile...even the karaoke!
Nice, friendly atmosphere. Can come casual. Live music and the food is good. We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We discovered they have karaoke and just a place to get a bite. In the neighborhood, but still can say you went out to eat
Good service, Good food. Went to a private event here and had a lovely time. I have been here many times and love the attentive, friendly service and the delicious food. The skillet cornbread is a must, and the southern flair on their dishes is a treat.
A definite favorite!
Cassie was great.. food on point..will definitely go again when in area. Turkey wings fantastic..tender to the bone.. I watched them as they cleared the tables and reset them..with precision..music was nice also..
The food was very expensive and horrible. I had braised short rib greens and sweet potato mash. The sweet potato mash was good and not enough food for the price and nasty food. I also had the honey and hot sauce fried chicken nasty my dog can fry better chicken. The only thing that was worth it was the jazz.
The food was great and our server Robin was very attentive. There's always that one family member that's late to the outing and I was happy that the staff didn't appear to be bothered. We actually catered a past Thanksgiving from Relish so no cap when I say thr food is amazing. The live jazz was just an added bonus. I will say that I wish there were 1 or 2 more hot appetizers for vegetarians.
We were celebrating our Niece's birthday. We all had a enjoyable time. The food was delicious, the ambience enhance the feastive atmosphere and the live band was cool and entertaining.
Don't buy the endless mimosas. They're not endless! Instead of offering a carafe to pour yourself, the server brings them to you as you order, however it was so crowded in the 2 hours out party was there, we only received one glass. The server was nice enough to remove it from our bill. I have been other places that offer this deal and they always provide a carafe. Maybe you guys should try it?!
Went there this past Saturday (9/14/19) and had a good time. Initially, tried to reserve for South, another joint owned by the same owners of Relish and other locations in the city.
Easy reservations. The staff were very accommodating for a party of 8. Rob, in particular, our waiter, was super cool and helpful. Great dude just trying to enjoy work and take care of those he waits on.
The food was seasoned well and good. I ordered stuff salmon. My wife order fried catfish. Both tasted great. The jazz artist, Jaz Jordan and the G2 Band did their thing.
She dedicated 2 songs to myself and my friend (birthdays).
Felt rushed leaving the venue, as they were trying to seat other people. However, that didn’t take away from the vibes.
Exceptional service!!! I got the Saturday Brunch Buffet for $27. Very cozy, laid back, jazzy vibe. The live music was awesome. Food presentation was great. The guy working the omelette station was extremely helpful and suggestive, as was another male staff member. Relish will definitely get more business from me in the future!!! Keep up the great work
I truly had a remarkable time at Relish from the moment I entered the door. The hostess was exceptional. The waiter was fabulous and very attentive. As for the food it was delicious! There was a variety of food to select from the buffet during the Sunday brunch!
Went to see an up & coming artist "Soulful Tee" & The Band" at this location. This young lady was simply sensational. The cornbread mashed potatoes & tilapia was mouth watering. Atmosphere fabulous!
I will always show my support! Great food! Talented entertainment! However, I've been coming here for years and their wait staff could use some training. They've always been polite and nice but let's just say you should order everything at once because who knows when they'll get around to you again. I know they can do better 😉
I've been to Relish MANY of times from the Sunday brunch, to a date night or girls night and the food is ALWAYS delicious (aside from the sweet potato mash). Today I decide to order and take out. It took about 20 minutes (which is expected since they cook your meal to order). And as always very tasty. Again don't order the sweet potato mash 🤢 but order anything else on the menu, your good.
While visiting family in Philadelphia and after church, we went to Relish for brunch. Our waitress was attentive and friendly as was the hostess. The food rates a mixed review. The fried whiting seemed to have been previously frozen. The fried chicken was just OK, the baked chicken was not well seasoned, and the biscuits were hard and cold. On a positive note: the mixed collards and cabbage were perfection, the cooked to order pasta was very good, the sliced potatoes good and the cold salads section had acceptable items. Overall and unfortunately the hot food items were lukewarm.
The food was fantastic. The service was great. We went there to celebrate two birthdays. They brought the cake that we brought out and another cake slice for the other person with candles. It was great. They even cut the cake up. You have to be patient because the wait time can be long when they are busy but nothing really to complain about. Nice spot.
Relish is a restaurant that's been a longtime fixture in West Oak Lane. The atmosphere is elegant and cozy, but just right to have brunch on a Saturday morning/afternoon. Speaking of which, the food selection is amazing! You have your choice of different breakfast foods AND lunch foods, or a combination of the two. There's challah bread French toast, cheesy grits, turkey bacon, home fries; as well as southern fried chicken (yum!), fried whiting, garlic green beans, etc., as well as rolls and biscuits. There's also salads, as well as fruits and veggies if you want to eat healthy. There's also pasta and omelet stations that prepare your food according to what you want based on the ingredients present. There's even one station for waffles where they make them fresh off the griddle. The servers provide the drinks of your choice. Everything was delicious, the staff was great, and I highly recommend it! And the price- about $27-is worth it! Reservations are required, and come early as they start seating before 11 am. Also, Relish is right on the SEPTA 6 bus route, so no car, no problem (that's how I got there); but if you must drive, the parking lot does fill up fast, so come early.
So listen.... the meal I ordered was really good.. I had the catfish, greens & grits an it was really good.. now I was there with 8 other females for a dinner party & my ladies had a few things that they did not like @ all & I didn't even try it cause I was pleased with my food. Now I can say that we did wait a lengthy amount of time waiting on our meals.. also the cornbread is pretty good
This is my BF and I's favorite neighborhood place. I love it. Food is excellent. Service is great. Parking and location good. Excellent!
They usually have a live band playing in the evening. They are actually pretty good. The food is amazing. I had the Deviled eggs with the shrimp on top. Never had deviled eggs with that much flavor. I also had the turkey wings. They were excellent. At the end of the day the staff is friendly, the drinks are really good and the ambiance is very chill. Perfect place to take a date.
Relish has always been that local spot. Nothing compares to it!
The food, drinks, and atmosphere is always on point. The restaurant can get crowded quickly. Especially on the weekend. Reservations are best.
The wait staff is very pleasant and attentive to your needs and requests. They always have something going on.
This is a local treasure that you must try.
Great place to have brunch with the family. The food was delicious, but a bit salty. The staff were incredibly nice! I'd return. I've been here twice for brunch and once for All you can eat crab nights! The crab nights are fantastic. This place can get crowded, be sure to make reservations and arrive early enough to get parking. The on-site parking lot is rather small and on street parking may be hard to find.
I ate here on a Sunday evening a few days before New Year's Day. Apparently the place is often crowded, but it was only moderately busy when I was there. The food was delicious! A buffet with a very diverse menu. Our server was very pleasant and professional.
Would surely recommend visiting this place. Exceptional ambience, flavorful dishes, fantastic service. Kudos.
Freakin' awesome! Our first visit was Easter brunch. Omelet was especially outstanding.
The hot chocolate was made with real milk too!
