Brian was the best! Very professional, very realistic. He didn't use scare tactics with potential updates, just the facts. He was very fair with the inspection and did a thorough job with the post-inspection review. Very happy with the service.
Did such a great job. My inspection was done quickly and they took time to go over the results with me. Very personable
Pillar to Post provided us with outstanding services when purchasing our first home. We couldn't be happier with our decision to work with them and will continue to work with them in the future!
Robert and Nancy were extremely professional and accessible from the first moment we completed an inspection request via the Pillar to Post website. They gladly accommodated our very aggressive scheduling request in advance of a coming snow storm, and made the process incredibly easy. Robert provided a timely, accurate, and incredibly thorough home inspection (premium package) and left us with a detailed, color binder in hand upon completion of the inspection. I highly recommend Pillar to Post for anyone needing a home inspection in the Woodbury MN - Hudson, WI area!
Robert was personable, professional and great to work with. He was straight to the point and explained all issues thoroughly. When we had a few questions, he even took the time to go back to the area of concern to show us exactly what he had discovered so we could better understand. I would absolutely recommend Pillar to Post to anyone looking for a reliable house inspector. Thank you!
We really appreciated the personal and professional service our inspector provided at the home, as well as his willingness to come back to answer questions for us and for the sellers. We also really value the long-term benefits that come with the premium package. We look forward to working with Pillar to Post in the years ahead!
Nice binder for reference once inspection is done, the inspector was very knowledgeable and prompt in his approach. Well worth the money, would recommend to anyone needing a fast and reliable house inspection.
professional, timely and friendly. answered all the questions we had to the best of his ability.
Second time using Pillar to Post. They are very thorough and spend the necessary time. Very pleased! Would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.
Robert was awesome and addressed all of our questions. He was also on time and thorough with our inspection! Would definitely recommend using pillar to post
Excellent service and very detailed. Robert was great and even offered to come back if we had questions on something down the road.
Working with both Nancy and Robert was great. Nancy quickly responded to scheduling requests and made sure that everything was in order for the appointment. Robert was thorough in his inspection and in his explanation of the results. It was truly a pleasure to work with them, and I would recommend them to anyone in need of their services.
Bob was very thorough and honest with the inspection he performed. The report was concise and easy to understand. I will use Pillar to Post the next time I am home shopping!!!
Brian did a great job and didn't nit-pick the little things. He really helped me understand all his notes and recommendations. He very calmly walked me through all my questions and concerns. The staff also explained all the great options available.
Mr. Allender was very professional and pleasant to work with. He took time to explain his detailed findings and made sure we understood what services were preformed. In addition, Robert provided various options on how to handle the findings.
Great service at a great price. Our inspector pointed out some interesting items that we would have missed during our walk through. Thank you for your experience and your service.
Everything was very simple, from booking the appointment to meeting at the home. The book that was given to us at the end is great to reference. We have owned our home for 3 months now and have made a lot of improvements. If it wasn't for the thoroughness of our inspection, we wouldn't have been quite prepared as we were with prioritizing our needs and were not surprised when things broke.
The inspection by Pillar to Post Woodbury failed to meet my expectations. Some of the more significant reasons why I would not use this company again are:
- The Inspector shared my communications with the Realtor without my permission.
- The Inspector failed to disclose that he would not be inspecting the 20+ year old roof due to snow cover when I scheduled the inspection. The inspector did not report on anything pertaining to the roof or roof structure from inside or outside.
- The Inspector's observations were vaguely worded and did not offer good insight to criticality or cost of repair and lacked supporting pictures.
- The inspection report was much lower quality and value than a competitor's product.
- We felt that the Inspector's report failed to reveal the significance of identified issues because it would likely have impacted the potential home purchase.
Very mediocre service. Does not come fully prepared with tools. Does not check everything. Had to be continually reminded to check things thoroughly as he forgot and would move onto other things to simply get things done. Expressed multiple times that he was once retired but is having to go back to work to fund a child through college. Simply took the money and did not advise correctly or fully for radon testing. Report on the house given makes up 1/3 of the binder provided. The remaining 2/3's was coupons and supplemental reading. Would recommend finding a different inspector.
I initially posted a 5 star review based on the initial impression and fancy report. Unfortunately the report was lacking. I am revising my review based on missed items discovered after I moved in that should have been caught by the inspector. One was very significant and very expensive -- downstairs shower leaked as soon as I turned the water on -- had to have the entire thing pulled out and replaced. The inspection report said the water was checked, but there was no way that it was. It immediately leaked all over the floor after I moved in and turned it on. It was a complete design flaw. Gutters and downspouts missing from garage, and a significant concrete design issue next to the garage was not pointed out. No vented soffits contributing to moisture in the attic space. And furnace was improperly vented which had to be fixed. I would not recommend this inspector and would instead suggest homeowners to hire a trained plumber, HVAC and electrician to do a more comprehensive inspection.
Robert Allender was great. He was very meticulous and did a great job explaining how the house works and explaining everything to me. I would highly recommend him.
The biggest issue I have with him is that he inspected the roof furnace vent stack according to his purchase report and found no issue, and as it turns out, the furnace vent stack, flashing, and flue pipe were in need of TOTAL replacement. The degraded state of the furnace vent stack, and flashing was OBVIOUS to the HVAC professionals and roofers who we had check it out. The flue pipe was degraded due to water entry through the damaged flashing. There were holes in the flue pipe meaning carbon monoxide was probably entering the house. Missed signs of water damage around basement ceiling where furnace vent pipe exits ceiling (water was entering the house every time it rained through the damaged flashing).
My wife agrees that we would have asked for a price reduction to below asking if we had known about things he missed. He might be an okay inspector for simple homes that are recently built or townhouses or condos that must built to code, but not for the house we bought. He simply was the wrong inspector for us.
Robert was professional and thorough in his inspection. He took time to clearly explain his findings and made helpful suggestions for correcting minor issues.
Very thorough and explained the results of the inspection clearly .
I hired Robert Allender for a home inspection in early March, 2020. He started a 48 hour Radon test almost immediately after I called and scheduled the inspection to coincide with the end of the 48 hour period, which was super convenient. Robert did an amazing job. He was exactly on the promised schedule, he was super thorough and complete. He noticed even very subtle things, and is clearly quite good at his craft. At the end he walked me through everything he found and highlighted both things that were in good working order and all issues that needed to be addressed. The report he gave me had detailed photos of everything he found that needed to be addressed. I feel confident in the state of my new home thanks to this inspection. I would absolutely recommend Robert Allender to anyone.
Now that we are 1 year out from our inspection and 9 months out from moving into our home after Robert inspected it, we can confidently say that we are very unhappy with our choice to hire Robert from Pillar to Post and would NEVER recommend him. Our realtor recommended him to us, but we regret that we didn't bring in an independent inspector. In the last 9 months we've had numerous issues with our home. Those that we've had come to fix the various issues that have surfaced have all said one resounding thing, "Who was your inspector and how did he not catch this?" They've asked for his info so that they know not to use or recommend. We have been told over and over that he is the expert we hired and he should have been more assertive on our behalf to dig into some of the issues that were vaguely mentioned as possible issue or not mentioned at all. For instance, one of the areas we have had issue was under a step/stairs with water and mold. The previous owners had the space filled from top to bottom with storage and the door was partially blocked by a bed. When he showed us that space, we tried to go in, but he made little effort to make sure that space was inspected or guide us to have the sellers empty that space for him to come back and inspect. This issue has cost us thousands of dollars and of course Robert's response was he warned against damp basements given the age of our house. This was not an issue of dampness, this was water pouring in for longer than the three days we had lived there when this incident occurred. We don't inspect or buy houses frequently which is why we hired an expert to inspect the home and didn't know the extent of which we should have gone to push him for a more thorough inspection or be our advocate in the process. Also, the way the language is written on his contract, he basically absolves himself from all responsibility. I honestly am blown away by the high reviews and would caution you from hiring Robert with Pillar To Post.
Pillar-to-Post does an excellent job and I highly recommend them to my clients and colleagues.
Robert had great information, above & beyond knowledge, and he was very thorough on our inspection. Thank you, thank you!
They were very easy to get ahold of and to schedule with. They were very clear as to what to expect when working with them during this Covid-19 pandemic. Robert contacted us immediately after his inspection and went over everything with us in great detail. We are very happy with their services and would highly recommend!
Was thorough, professional and did a great job putting us at ease with our home purchase. Will use again, if needed in the future.
I used All In One Moving services in November 2014. I had a small studio so I didn't have a lot of items. The move took less than 2 hours. The two movers...read this and 13 more
