How would you rate Miguel's Groom's Corner at Maya Couture?
Excellent service! Found styles of dresses that couldn't be found anywhere else. Relaxed environment and extremely helpful staff. Would recommend any day.
They were amazing. They took the time to ask what I wanted, pick out dresses that I might like and even offer me and my mom a glass of wine! They are honest on their website about price range. I ended up falling in love with 2 dresses and Stephanie who helped me loved the cheaper one on me. It felt great knowing she wasn't just trying to make a sell, because the one she loved was the one me and my mother loved also. You can tell these women love their jobs!
There were couches everywhere with plenty of seating for everyone. There were big dressing rooms - i was trying on ball gowns and we had easily 8 or 9 in the room with us with more room to spare! I highly recommend them! Skip davids bridal...its the walmart of dress shopping, go straight here!!! You won't be sorry! :) I will be returning soon to try on that dress we love again and probably a few more! Im so happy with my experience there!
I had a terrible experience here. The consultant was non-responsive and not helpful at all. I ended up leaving disappointed. I had a much better consultant and experience at David's Bridal. For the amount of money I would be spending here, I would prefer is I actually had someone to help me.
Maya Couture wasn't terrible, but it wasn't my best bridal experience either. They had a nice selection of gowns for many different budgets, but the consultant was not respectful of my price point and put me in dresses that were way over budget. She found one dress in my budget that I liked but I wasn't completely sold so I didn't buy. I ended up finding my dress elsewhere, but decided to have alterations done at Maya. I have tried for several weeks now to set up an alterations appointment and no one has called or emailed me back. I will be taking my dress elsewhere for alterations.
Although I did not buy my wedding dress from Maya Couture, I was assured that my alterations would be done by professionals. The first fitting that I went to the seamstress was pushy and did not listen to what I wanted. Although I went through with using them, when I showed up for my 2nd fitting with my mother Not ONE person greeted us, we walked back to alterations where again NO ONE asked if we needed help or had an appointment. It took them 15 min to find my dress.
When I put the dress on the top of the dress that I had thought was to be made into a sweetheart top was awful! The alterations lady then bust into the room and said “I knew that I was not going to be able to get the dress to look like what you wanted". I wonder why when spending good money they did not call and ask me to come in to discuss other options to obtain the look I wanted, and just proceeded to do irreversible damage to the dress.
I will say that the way that she took it in on the sides and the darts in the back of the dress looked fine, but the part that everyone will see is a disaster. No one offered to help, or attempt to redo it. I would never tell anyone to go here again. I am now stuck with finding a way to cover up a chop job on my dress with a rather short amount of time before the wedding.
Oh and P.S. be ready to be half naked and have the alterations lady just open the curtain wide open to talk to you.
My consultant Abby was awesome. Literally everything she brought me i liked, about 4 of them i really liked and i had to make the hard decision between two that i loved! She was helpful and honest. She gave me real feedback and not just the "oh you look gorgeous in everything" answer for everything. She was right on point with everything and I would recommend Maya to everyone. The only thing I didn't like was the mens formal wear pitch at the end,not done by Maya staff, but of their affiliates.
I have had the worst experience here. I paid extra to have alterations done on my dress and they did not do them. I order the dress back in Aug and now it is April and I am still waiting for my dress. It took multiple calls to even get them to agree to send me my dress. I am in the military and they acted like I was inconveniencing them. I'm just hoping I have my dress in time. They are terrible!!!!! So disappointed...
I wish I would have bought my dress somewhere else. After being measured wrong for my bridal gown, they rejected a shipment of my groomsmen ties after a business partner (Miguel's formal wear) was kicked out of Maya's rental space. We are now trying to track down our ties, somewhere within fedex, because Maya doesn't value business or relational partnerships. Oh and I get married next week. Miguel's Formal Wear has handled everything with grace! Go to him for all of your suit needs- he has everything from tux rentals to custom made suits.
Worse bridal shop ever!!! RUN...DO NOT WALK from this place. Weddings are stressful enough and the most important thing to a bride is her dress. Irresponsible, broken promises, lousy customer service. Might as well drive by and throw your money on the street! The only good reviews you'll read are the ones they post for themselves!
The girls there were wonderful and judgement free! My friends and I had the best time dress hunting, and I was even able to find "the one" on my first visit. Claire was my assistant, and I could not have asked for a better personality fit to help me find my dress. She went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and knew just by my facial expressions that I'd found the dress! I'll be buying with maya couture for the rest of my bridal needs from here on out.
Honestly, I couldn't have picked a better place to find the dress of my dreams. I walked in there and it was just a great atmosphere. I had the pleasure of working with Claire and she was just absolutely amazing. She kept my spirits high and helped me find the perfect dress! Thank you so much for everything, I cannot wait to pick up my dress in a couple months :D
Claire made my experience such a good one. She was not forceful on what dresses to try on and was so helpful when picking them out and supportive while giving me great advice on ones that would look great on me.she never rushed me and did everything in her power to make sure my bridal shopping was a wonderful experience! I am hoping o go back to her and have her help me with brides maids dresses! Definetly recommend Claire!
This was my first stop, shopping for a bridal gown. I was recommended by a coworker. I am a size 12, curvy, and nice size rear end. Soon as I walked through the the door, I scanned and looked around a little, still no one to greet me. After looking around, and puzzled about should I go further, a lady beckons me from a desk, waving her hands for me to come to her. She asked how could she help me. I explained the kind of dress I'm looking for and showed her a picture. She then said well let me give you a tour and walked me around, asking what size
Did I wear. I told her and she stopped to this one section and said you can touch and feel through here( none of the dresses were what I told her, or showed her). She didn't ask, so I told her the price range I was interested in and she said o well we DNT have that here let me call a sister store. She asked when did I need it, and I told her the wedding it a few months away, which really prompted her to get on the phone. She came back and said the sister store she called had some 12s(wrong size) but not the color I wanted , gave me a book, and sent me in my way. Overall, the atmosphere was not very welcoming, and the consultant didn't seem to be energetic, or customer friendly. It was a happy, sweet, smiling, congratulations, time there. I was glad to leave
Dress shopping with Claire's assistance was honestly like shopping with my best friend. She was sweet, kind, totally listened to me and what I wanted and I loved working with her! I'd work with her all over again and loved Maya Couture :)
Maya Couture Bridal Salon was the best decision I made towards finding my gown! I went to three other shops before finding Maya and none of them provided the same quality service as I experienced at this location. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. I never felt pressured. I was able to take my time and really felt comfortable which is instrumental when making such a major decision. The selection is vast and ranges on price points to accommodate for everyone. With a little guidance and much needed wisdom I found the perfect dress! Thank you so much Maya!
I can't wait to come back for alterations so I can wear it again!
I went to Maya Couture for the Brides Across America event. Not only was I greeted & welcomed by the staff at the door, but everyone there smiled & spoke. I had to pleasure of being assisted by Ms. Patsy. Saying that she was the best would be an understatement. She assisted me from beginning to end. After trying on 2 dresses, I found the perfect match for me. She was happy for me & made me feel as if everything was about me. I will definitely be returning to complete my wedding party's attire.
I had Claire as my consultant. She was sweet, personable, and very knowledgeable. I know I'm not the smallest of girls , that being said when going to try on any clothing especially a wedding dress it can produce major insecurities. She went above and beyond to make me feel special as well as beautiful even though some tugging and pulling were in order. I couldn't have asked for better. When you choose maya couture choose Claire!!
I highly recommend going to Maya Couture for bridal gowns. They have a huge and beautiful selection, at reasonable costs. I had a wonderful experience shopping, as stylists Emily and Claire welcomed my mom, future mother-in-law and I. They listened to what styles of dresses I'd tried on previously, and encouraged me to explore through the racks for whatever caught my interest. Unfortunately, Emily had to leave for a family emergency, but Claire took over like a champ. If you're looking for a fun stylist for makes silly sound effects as you're slipping on gorgeous dresses, Claire is your girl, and is the best for it. What I found at Maya Couture is that the stylists are never pushy and don't rush you. They listen, wait, gauge your reactions, and make thoughtful suggestions. You'll feel amazing in their selection of dresses, and you'll feel comfortable with their caring stylists. Really, you can't go wrong here. I'm so pleased to say that I bought my wedding gown with them, and can't wait to wear it for my wedding in September.
I signed up for the Brides Across America event which Maya Couture was a part of, I was absolutely blown away from the moment I wanted in the door. My bridal consultant, Sarah, was wonderful!!! She greeted me, my mom, and my matron of honor immediately with a warm welcoming smile and made us all feel right at home. Sarah knew the right questions to ask to figure out my style and what I was looking for (because honestly, if you've never tried on a wedding dress before how can you know what to look for?!) within a few dresses and me letting her know "I like this, but not that so much" Sarah said, "I think I know your dress" she grabbed another stylist to find the exact dress she had in her head. As soon as I saw it I was floored. I put it on and immediately knew that was my dress. Sarah couldn't have possibly done a better job and listening and understanding my vision. Tears all around as soon as I came out, she made my entire experience wonderful and I am so happy to have chosen Maya as my bridal store!
Once she took us back to alterations, the lady I worked with there was just as welcoming (I have forgotten her name, I was so floored by my dress I couldn't focus on anything else hahah) she was extremely efficient and just from pinning along I could see the dress becoming even more perfect. The entire staff from beginning to end was wonderful & welcoming and made every minute of being there so special.
Their brides across America event was extremely organized and well put together. There were snacks, a photo booth, a photographer, and even a DJ! There wasn't chaos or crowding or rushing which I had expected with this event. Thank you Sarah and the entire team at Maya Couture!!! I can't wait to walk down the aisle in my DREAM DRESS!!!
Maya Couture was hands down the best Bridal shop that I went to to find my wedding dress. The atmosphere was very relaxed and they do not overbook their clients so I was able to get one on one attention. Sarah was my stylist and she was ABSOLUTELY wonderful. She was extremely friendly and sweet as I tried on many dresses. She listened to what I wanted and helped me pick out the perfect dress without going over my budget. Sarah was so patient with me as I tried on many dresses and then retried them on! I definitely recommend going to Maya and asking for Sarah!
My experience here in finding a gown was great. The consultant was very helpful, and I found a gown on the first appt. I came back a few weeks after I initially chose my bridal outfit to change the veil and belt which went smoothly. I drove about 1.5 hours each way to pick up my gown, veil, and belt late December to find out later on that I received the wrong veil. I called the shop and opted to keep the wrong veil and have them refund the difference in price for the veil I paid for. This would save me a 3hr trip and I also needed the veil that weekend. The manager kindly told me the refund would be processed and e-mailed me the receipt of the transaction a few days later. The mix up was a bit of a headache to deal with, but the employees were very apologetic and kind in resolving the issue.
Claire was amazing in helping me at my first dress appointment ever! She is so friendly and personable and helped me find exactly what I wanted. Having never been to a dress appointment before, I was a bit nervous and uncomfortable but she made it fun and made me feel relaxed. We had a great time. Best experience! Thank you again.
Ordered and paid in full for my dress 5-21-2106 from Va. Beach (now Norfolk) store. They said 7-8 months. It's now March, no dress, no explanation, no estimated arrival date. They won't call me back with an update, even left a message with the GM. I'm very sad, hurt, and frustrated. They've ruined the whole wedding dress experience for me already. I'll have little time (if any?) for alterations. I hope they're happy they got my money to help fund their new store. Should I be looking at another dress at this point?!
I may not be so upset if they would apologize or explain themselves at the least, but nothing. What disgraceful customer service and human ethics. Bad people. Bad business. House of Mayhem. I wish I could rewind time and never had gone there. I'm stuck now, all I can do at this point is warn others.
I was a bridesmaid in a wedding party with about 7 other women. We ordered our dresses in August of one year, the dresses did not arrive until February of the following year. This was approximately 5-3 days before the wedding forcing several women to pay large amounts for small alterations due to such a short time frame for turnover, or deal with a dress that may not have fit properly. Lots of the bridesmaids lived around the country and although they did cover the costs to have the dresses over-nighted, the staff did not seem remorseful or apologetic at all. The weekend is all about the bride and I hope that her dress is all she imagined but I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.
Megan was absolutely Amazing!!! I booked a double appointment with my best friend. She was completely invested in getting us both our dream dress. We both got taken care of on a personal level and also as a team. She handled our large shopping part well and had us all laughing and enjoying the experience. She was professional and carefree. No pressure no sales pitches just helpful and informative. She had so many options and discussed different solutions to our concerns & desires. 5 Stars!!!
Let me refrain from my previous comment. First off House of Maya has an excellent variety of dresses. After I had bought my dress however my experience with them for the first month or so was very unpleasant. I bought my dress on rush so as it was I was very stressed. Let's just say long story short I received a lack of customer service. For weeks I was basically hunting down an answer to when my dress was expected to arrive. I left calls with the front desk, emailed with employees and even went into the store to find out answers. It was a mess and it was emotionally draining. Although I was later to find out that it takes 4-6 weeks to receive an expected delivery date (as said in the contract), I was never once told that. Through all the emails and calls, I was told I would get an answer shortly. I was consistently hunting down an answer for over 3 weeks. So when I say I refrain my previous answer it's because 1) It does mention it in the contract. It was my fault not to thoroughly read it, however it does not excuse the lack of customer service I received. And 2) they compensated me for my unpleasant experience and were very apologetic. I also know they are currently undergoing major changes and just moved store location, so I am sure that is a very overwhelming process for all of them. However no what the reason may be, when you spend that kind of money you expect a certain type of service and to be treated as a priority, which I did not feel. But in the end they were very apologic and were all about "making it right" and turning my bad experience into a good one.
I purchased my DREAM dress from House of Maya and I couldn't be any happier with my experience! The dress selection is very impressive. All of the ladies at Pure English (which has now merged into one store, House of Maya) were super helpful. Amanda, in particular, was my consultant and she was patient, honest and friendly. We went through multiple dresses until we found "the one." Her knowledge about each designer and how the dresses fit was very apparent. I'm so thankful she was there to guide me in the right direction. The whole staff was cheering and so excited for me when I had my "say yes to the dress" moment. What an amazing feeling! I cannot wait to wear my gown for my November wedding
A few years ago my husband and I decided to not only to renew our vows but have the wedding that we always dream about it. At that time I also worked at the what use to be Maya Couture. I am not only build amazing friendship but also a beautiful close relationships with my former brides that until this day I treasure. Modeling beautiful bridal gowns, I thought that it will be easy to choose "The One". I was wrong. Knowing that process of taking around 6 months or more from the moment I order the dress to getting ship to the store. I have to found it. With the help of my amazing ladies and Maya, I found the perfect one. Not having my mother that day with me made very hard and emotional. Thanks to my daughters, Maya (for helping to get dress and wiped my tears) Char and all that make our day special, it was a beautiful day.
I have worked with House of Maya since I first entered the wedding industry. Not only is Maya herself one of the most lovely and amazing people that I know but her team is spectacular! These amazing ladies work tirelessly and if something is not right for a bride they work to make it so, even a bride that purchased from somewhere else!!! And when it came time for me to choose my own gown there was no where else that I even considered. My dress arrived ahead of schedule and fit like a glove with only length alterations required. I cannot praise them enough and I know they will again work tirelessly to make it right because that is who they are and who they will always be!
HOM ladies, we love you and believe in you without falter! You got this!
Very disorganized and awful communication with staff. My dress was ordered in the wrong size and came in a month late. Because of the time crunch at that point, I ended up buying a sample dress instead of the beautiful custom gown I had ordered. We reordered the jacket, intending to pick up the jacket and dress and take it somewhere else to be altered. No one called me when it came in. I called repeatedly over the course of several weeks checking on it when someone miraculously "found" it at a different store. Throughout the process I was repeatedly told that a manager would contact me and it never happened. I called and asked repeatedly to speak to a manager and they couldn't make it happen for one reason or another. Awful service, awful communication, and an awful overall experience. They used to be the premier bridal salon of the area, but they definitely are not anymore.
Amanda at Maya Couture was truly a godsend. She made me feel completely at ease, gorgeous, and her #1 priority while she picked out some of the most beautiful, and flattering dresses I've ever seen. Each dress complemented my body well, but the first one she paired with me was my dress. I couldn't believe that I found my dream dress, the one I've been imagining since a little girl on the first try. Everything fell into place and I couldn't be more excited for my wedding day
We ordered our bridesmaid and flower girl dresses in January and were given a estimated delivery time of Early June, which was PLENTY of time for a wedding at the end of July! It is only 15 days till the wedding and one of the bridesmaids still hasn't gotten her dress due to shipping issues. The flower girl dresses have not arrived and there is no communication whatsoever! If you call them expect to either not be helped or be told that they'll call you back in just a few minutes when that really means that aren't going to call you back AT ALL! I would give them 0 stars if I could but that is not an option! DO NOT USE HOUSE OF MAYA!
In the Fall of 2016 I had a formal gala to attend. I was overwhelmed of what type of formal dress to choose. House of Maya made the whole process quick, painless, and most importantly.....fun! The whole process started with their knowledgeable staff sending me pictures of dress concepts to get a feel for what I liked. Then upon my arrival, I had dresses pulled and tucked away in a private dressing room. From colors, to fit, to comfort level, they thought of everything to make my experience customized and enjoyable. Then after the order of the dress, I arrived back for alterations. With zero wait time, I quickly tried on the dress and then just a couple weeks later I had a dress that fit like a glove! Thank you House of Maya for a memorable experience. The gala was fantastic and the dress was stunningly beautiful! A fabulous quality dress, a great staff, a wonderfully fantastic boutique!
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! I would suggest no bride to ever get their wedding dress from this shop. I purchased mine from Pure English (before they combined their shops to Maya) in October 2016 for a April 2017 wedding (in which they told me it would need to be rushed ordered, which was fine I paid the extra money to do that.) They let me know my dress was arriving mid-February. Then started my calling, I started to call mid-February to inquire about my dress as any bride would. I called not excessively but a few times in February, then March and basically called every week WITH NO RESPONSE. Every time they would say Diana was who I needed to talk with every time Diana giving me the run around. I eventually had to visit the store in March with my mother, they then told us there would be a tracking number by a certain date, NEVER happened. I had to go back AGAIN two weeks before my wedding requesting a tracking number, the best is that I was waiting 15 minutes in the walk in area with the receptionist rolling her eyes at the customers calling inquiring about THEIR DRESSES- I was not the one this happened too!! The receptionist forwarded a call saying "i have and irate father on the phone looking for his daughters wedding dress." My dress didn't come in until the week before my wedding needing alterations. The experience and customer service was awful- considering how much you pay and having this be your wedding you would think they would be a little more helpful very disappointing and I have many friends getting married and i will NEVER recommend them to go there.
My coworker went to this bridal shop and she has had nothing but issues. she chose her dress, veil and belt. 2 weeks from her wedding they tell her that her choice in veil and belt will not arrive. Her guess is that they never ordered it. and now today a week before her wedding they are stating that the alterations(just hem) will not be finished til Wednesday, just a couple days before her wedding. this location has been such a disappointment when its supposed to be her happiest time. and because all sales are final they will not refund her the cost of her veil or belt(totaled $600). this place is a total rip off! i DO NOT recommended this business. I will be getting married in 2 yrs and this location will not receive my money.
I had an amazing experience working with House of Maya. Back in October when I found my dream dress I had an appointment at their store. The day before my appointment they called me to find out some information about me in order to pull some dresses when I got there. When I showed up to my appointment, the most beautiful dress was already in my dressing room. This dress was exactly what I had envisioned. Not only did I purchase my wedding dress at House of Maya, I purchased my bridesmaids dresses, and had my alterations done by them. I am so thankful for the personalized experience and the quality of service, I would highly recommend House of Maya Bridal!
My daughter in law got her dress from here a couple of years ago, and had a good experience. We visited the store in February of this year and ordered my daughter's wedding gown at that time. The experience was fine, but the communication and follow-up since then has been non-existent. Everything they gave us a timeline on hasn't been done. Even after numerous conversations. It has now been over three weeks since I have spoken with anyone. Three weeks ago, I was told they have been unable to reach the designer, but would continue to follow up. The owner gave me her cell, I called, no response. I have left messages with customer service (?), no response. This has caused extra stress that shouldn't be there. Every day that passes, I'm losing confidence that my daughter will receive her gown in time for alterations to be done, if she receives it at all. Very disappointed in this experience and would not recommend this store to anyone.
I would not recommend Maya Salon to any bride who wants peace of mind about her wedding dress. The amount of dresses in stock was incredible and the sales experience was great but the follow through was not there. I ordered my dress at the beginning of October, it was projected to come in around March but it was May before it got here (my wedding was in June). The workers at Maya bridal could not give me accurate information about when it would be here, they told me it was in a shipment multiple times but when I called to check in it wasn't there. When I finally did go in for my fitting they didn't have the veil I purchased (which is made in house), then they didn't have it at my re-fitting. My dress needed tweaks so when we finally picked it up 5 days before my wedding they finally had a veil that was close but not exact to what I had originally tried on. Everything turned out alright but it added ALOT of extra stress to an already stressful time.
By far the best rental experience I've had. The owner takes pride in not only the experience for the groom but also the fashion. And it shows through his...read this and 15 more
