How would you rate Holcombe Rucker Park?
I used to go to the Rucker a lot in the summer of 06 when I lived in New York. One day, I saw Fat Joe's team beat fat Jadakiss' team (Jadakiss was way fatter than I expected); I watched Joe Forte and JR Smith play like complete amateurs, and the hype-men dogging on them while joking around with the "40+" crew behind the basket. Always a fun time.
Anyone living in or visiting New York in the summer, seeing a game at the rucker would be in my top 5 must-do activities.
Base heads, hope you got all day to wait for a game, everytime i was gonna play a dude with a name talking bout he got next, filthy bathrooms, and theres a blind guy who yells at you. Bunch of crack heads.
We visited on a Saturday midday and my 15 year old son was able to put up a few shots on this famous court. Just so historic. Later, we watched a high school level league game, attended by families and neighbors, all of whom were friendly and courteous. A great way to spend an afternoon. Definitely, we LOVED it!
The neighborhood surrounding the park seemed very accessible; I didn't see anything about it that would be considered objectionable. I say this because we spoke to a lady visitor in another part of Harlem who was from the midwest; she seemed very nervous about going to the Rucker alone. I would say I saw no reason to be nervous in the full daylight. After dark, events might not be so family-friendly, I don't know. Rucker Park is pleasant and the attraction is mainly the tournaments that are held there during the summer, and the games played there by local athletes. Worthwhile making a trip.
I was one on 3 people on the court, and I took one shot, so from now until forever, I will always be 1-1, 100% career at Rucker Park!! Great to finally get over there! The area gets a bad rep, it was not bad. Have fun
nice park. in the summer it is a great scene to enjoy harlem landscape. the main event is rucker park basketball tounament, sometimes you may catch a celebrity or two enjoying the games. also up and coming basketball talent
real good. from Puerto Rico
Great experience going to The Rucker Park. A lot of great basketball players have played at Rucker before.
Lefendary basket-ball court where some of the greatest played. There will always be a few pick up games around here at any time. The court did seem a big run down when we came by.
Cuz lil durk
Great court. Saw Obama play here w/o any Secret Service. He was cool.
I drop 36 up dere in a tourment
Always great games at Rucker park
Being way from cali it was cool seeing Rucker Park. There was some games going on. I consider myself an ok player (maybe juco or d2 level) when in shape, however most of the guys playing seemed weak. Some were good but I expected to only see hoopers at Rucker. Maybe I came on a bad day. Walking around Harlem was awesome though, it was like tv and you could feel the history.
Great place to watch some pickup games in a legendary park, but even better if you get to play.
I was glad to have seen the Legendary Rucker. Sucks that my phone was dead. You have to stop by sometime.
It's fun during labor weekend for the west indian festivities
The holy Rucker. Legends were born here. Best Basketball Court on the whole planet.
I grew up there! The building adjacent to it was once an elementary school. The park now has a grass field for turf sports.
So many people be there.I love it
Cancha que todo amante del streetball debe de visitar!
There is always a cool breeze, there is a water fountain and best of all the view of the whitecomb bridge underside and the flowing highspeed traffic make it perfect place for any unwanted children to go play.
terrible customer service, never pick up there phone, very expensive.... not worth the headach
Lefendary basket-ball court where some of the greatest played. There will always be a few pick up games around here at any time.
Best chance to see some great basketball and by some of the elite basketball players in the league and around the world

One of Harlem's historic landmark. Top balers have had the pleasure to drop buckets in this park, you might catch your favorite balling during the summer.
The famous Rucker. Go see for yourself what the hype is all about.
Nice park to. Enjoy the day.to read.
Entertainment Basketball Classic every summer for about the last 25 years. An iconic and historic venue which still has the country's best amateurs and some professionals.
Lace up them Air's & Like Nike "Just do it" after you play a few court games your Heart will think you later by still functioning lol.
OMGGGGGGGGGGGG...So bad in the summer! It's loud and crowded because of the basketball games. The kids are rude and so are their mother's!
One of the most legendary basketball courts in the United States. Many greats in the sport of basketball had their start here, developing and honing their immense talent/skills including Kareem Abdul-Jabber, Wilt Chamberlin, Metta World Peace (lol), Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant. There have been many tournaments featured in the park and famous NBA players that have visited the park. On any given day, you can find multiple games of pick up. Players travel from all over to get the chance to play on this iconic court. It's a place for ballers to gain respect in the sport. If you're a basketball player or fan, make your way up town to Rucker Park and bring your shoes!
This is the world famous RUCKER park. Local legends, future prospects, current pros. Make this a great place to visit. You just never know who's going to pop up. Very high police presence.
Rucker park is a nice place to sit and enjoy the breeze. You can bring your kids to play in the park. They host great basketball games and other events at the park.
Excellent Ball Players Park. You Can See Up & Comers & Already Established "ICONS". When You Get A Chance Stop By Rucker Park Where Legends Are Made.
Great basketball tournaments in the summertime given by EBC (Entertainers Basketball Classic) see, NBA players, college ballers, street ballers, entertainers, musiclegends, and the like ,play ball or drop by to check out a game or too.
Legendary playground that graced the shoes of Dr j, Kobe, KD, and countless others! (And a bucket list place for me happily fulfilled)...regulars couldn't have been nicer...won a few games...lost a few others.. ran into a few guys from Chicago(like me)who ventured here to fulfill a dream.... could have let the magic of this place keep me here all day (yet the fatigue let me succumb after 4hours)...to play...or just to watch...any true hoops fan should see one of the few remaining playground meccas left...
The park had good security this summer for The games. Actually enjoyed myself
Place were street ball became street ball. It's a historic land mark in Harlem.
The most legendary iconic park you can ever go to...... shout out to all the greats ...

There is a good view of the river. But it could use some more updating

I agree. It's a nice park to have in with family and friends.
Attended a birthday party for my girlfriend's daughter friend, the kids had a ball, food was great and the atmosphere enjoyable and lively! A very nice park to play in!
Free basketball games in the summer. Police presence. Pat down to gain entry. Some streetball legends may be in attendance. Funny announcers. A lot of stray people on the court at various times. Great talent
I WAS IN ATTENDANCE AS THE DJS EQUIPMENT MOVER..KOOL DJ DEE AND TYRONE THE MIXOLOGIST...
Me, my wife and kids enjoyed our brief time there....
I live across the street nice to see the games
Very clean, and my grandsons enjoyed playing on the court... where the movie Uncle Drew was filmed, and many now basketball greats have played... Thanks for a wonderful memory! 🏀🏀🏀
It's in harlem one of the best places in the world. I'm born and raised here only thing I feel is that it should be more safe.
It was worth the trip from Albany to the Mecca of playground basketball just to be able watch my son play pickup on the same court as some legends of the past and present.
Lots of basketball games in the summer for my daughter. Nice park
On the set of NBA Street Vol. 2. I could hear "T.R.OY." by Pete Rock and CL Smooth. I just got crossed up. Just kidding. I slipped on a wet leaf.
World famous basketball courts, history is what it is! It's also my home for the last 25 years. Wow time flies!
Some of the National Basketball association's best players to come out of this park
bustling with excitement during the summer games
park with showers for the little ones
Interesting place. Basketball history.
Rucker speaks for itself. I mean, this is where the greatest have played. Took my 9 year old son up there for a shoot around and we had a blast! Well kept park and enjoyed the experience.
Back in the day basketball players from all over NYC would come here and play in a tournament Brooklyn Queens Bronx Harlem and sometimes Staten. Back when we had real communities not the gentrified mess of a city we have today.
❤😘 Love the excitement and the family get together 😎🤗
Family park. Great for kids to explore
This Rucker park looks very nice it would be even nicer if they have basketball pumps too so they could pump it up. Also I like how it looks this is Jermaine Hyde and I love that park. Very clean too i could spend all day and night over there.
Basketball! Music! Plenty of neighborhood entertainment and entertainers. Big fun. Still miss the guy that sold that great Crab Salad.
good place to play b-ball at and i like how uncle drew was film there. great place.
Legendary place to visit. A real New York Vibe and experience!
There are usually nets and its single rims. Which is the best part. There are great games but you can also play solo sometimes. The earlier, the better.
We love the fact that there's a huge baseball park all the way in the back of the park, which is completely fenced in therefore our German Shepherd can get in all the playtime and laps she can handle, and there's no need for a leash, because it's completely gated. It's especially fun when the other pet owners bring their dogs too, and coincidentally, there's 3 more Shepherd owners in this neighborhood. There's something for everyone here, tennis, basketball (not to mention that Rutgers basketball tournaments are Poppin all summer long. What's not to love 😎😍😎
Very calming. Great path that leads to the pedestrian bridge that connects the Bronx to Upper Manhattan (Washington Heights)
The park was very nice especially for your toddler. Is very clean and Is near everything. There's a convenience store, McDonald's, and dinners just walking distance. I recommend this place for children, family and friends. If you just want to enjoy a beautiful day or bbq.
Such an amazing, historic park. There's a playground for kids, sprinklers which are great for hot summer days, and an amazing basketball court. We went during some school tournament event, and it was great to see young kids play their hearts out and win. Such a great experience, I'm glad I came here!
Loved the movie Uncle Drew, had to see the park for myself. I loved the experience I had. This is a part of basketball culture in New York like the Mecca next to Madison Square garden.
We are a basketball family. Wish they had more parking. It worked out and we were so excited to play on the famous court.
Although is not my favorite park to visit, I was in the neighborhood to check on someone and stop there for a few minutes. I saw what seems to be several families with kids having a good time.
You HAVE to visit this place if you love basketball.
Tiny Archibald, Dr. J, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson--these men have all graced this court and dominated.
If you go with anyone who doesn't understand, the spectacle may be dimmed, but for those who love the sport of basketball, this is Mecca: a necessary pilgrimage!
Kept beautiful regardless of the men's shelter next to it. Due in large to the basketball tournament that's been run their the past half century. Great basketball players now in and out of the league play in this tournament, famously called Holcombe Rucker.
What a surprising little gem in the Bronx eye was a little surprised to see such a well-maintained and beautiful Park in this location satin had lunch and it was very peaceful and calm and most of all clean
The glorious history of this place is long gone. Depending on the time of the day it could look rather shabby. The basketball court is still kept in good...read this and 8 more
