How would you rate Historic Virginia Key Beach Park Trust Culture And Eco-Tours?
Enscripted squalleous. Cetaccean of the caribbean.
Preety good quiet place for getaway bit the beach here could be better. Also no water sports or restaurants or anything. Now they started charging $5 car entry fee, even on weekdays.
Peaceful kayaking & biking site. Small, scenic beaches, nature trail.
I sincerely love this beach, just wish overnight parking was allowed
Love this place is perfect for families
Great beach! I would come here with my family when I was a kid and it's still a great place to go! More secluded than the beaches on Miami Beach and the chance to see aquatic life is much better too! 😊
Great park and beaches for every age. A lot to do and explore.
Water/sand can be a bit rocky so be careful where you place your step.
Please take your trash with you!.
The further you go the less people and nicer it gets.
This is my favorite beach in the whole world. It's a natural beach and its amazing to walk along the shore. Theres a clay deposit there too, its lots of fun to play with! The only bad thing is they close at 7ish which is way too early for me, i wish it would be open longer.
I highly recommend visiting.
Not a lot to see until you get there but a cool derelict waterfront theater!
I enjoyed seeing the tallest sand castle! Go see it before it all falls down.
Seriously, beautiful place, gorgeous beach.
Beautiful place, they have a Historic Carousel as well as a Mini train that you can ride for free on the weekends. The have surf boards for rent, cabanas, pavilions to rent for parties, overnight apartments to rent for camping, they sell food, dressing rooms, showers, and the staff are really friendly and nice. Just knowing that i was at a historic beach was so amazing. I loved it. definitely going back.
Nice, quiet beach. Not too expensive. Pretty private place.
This beach is one of South Florida's hidden treasures. It's quiet, clean and beautiful beach. There is a playground for kids, volleyball courts for teens and nice trees to hang hammocks for adults.
Nice quiet beach. Had a great undisturbed nap. Lol
Miami beach is overeted. If you want peace and quiet with some sun and sand. This is the place.
I wouldn't come here to swim. Parking is $10. The water is murky, shallow and full of seaweed, sharp rocks and mud that makes your feet sink. The beach is covered with litter and on most days all the shaded spots are taken. Not sure why people come here except maybe to go boating or take their kids to the playground.
This hidden gem is at the end of Virginia Key. During weekdays it is very tranquil and almost feels private. It can get busy on weekends and holidays. It is located right next to the mountain bike park.
Dat Sun is fantastic, I got a brown within minutes (figure of speech of course)
Very nice beach for your special occasions. Only down which is not the beach fault is the zika filled mosquitoes carry your spray with you.
Truly a diamond in the rough. While we visited Virginia key park beach, I didn't know the history of this naturally beautiful place. At first glance, I wanted to leave and go to another beach. Then I started to feel peaceful, comfort, not care in the world. I really can't explain the feeling, I knew there was something special about this place. My family will be exploring this park/beach again in the near future.
Decent beach. Nothing too amazing. Would have been nice if amusements were operating but website made no mention that they weren't. Cool for its history.
Nice small quite beach. Plenty of free parking. Tables for picnics and a play area for kids.
If you want to unwind... This is the place! You can also bring your dog for a nice walk by the beach
We where here for the Miami boat show, it's a very nice location. Would be a nice place to keep a boat!
This place is a paradise. Only that all parks so far close at Sunset, this people made us leave at 6 pm even when the sunset will be around 7:30 or later, we even had to turn off the barbecue without finishing the food.
We were here for a festival. Great outdoor venue, right on the water. Very mellow atmosphere with great views.
Very hype beach in south Miami very nice boardwalk to stroll around there us pretty good restaurants around the area.
The beach is great! If you get there early you can get a kiosk near the beach!! Bathrooms are good and there's shower at the beach entrance.
on Sunday, beach cleanup was happening. Parking lots are convenient. more a place to run around, bike and kayak.
Completely renovated. New parking lots and walk ways. Very nice.
This area was at one time a "colored beach." Today, it is mostly roadside beach. Great to walk , run, or bike. They have kayak and stand up paddle board rental stations scattered around. Great view.
Relaxing beach with a great view; it has never been too crowded on the days that we've gone there. Bring your own food and drinks since there's no place to purchase them nearby.
This is a really neat area to check out but I wouldn't consider it one of the better beaches. There are definitely some areas that are nice, but there are alot of rocks and shells.
There is no place like home. Home is where the heart is. My heart is here. I'm a water bird. I see and feel the motion and the moods of the ocean. I watch it get excited as we near the weekends and holidays. I see her turn to black ice and become as smooth as glass without some much as the tiniest ripple. I feel her rage and rise up like a disgruntled protestors.
She dances with the wind, and shares her moisture with the sun. And reaps the mighty rains with the vibrations of the thunder.
The activity from the great manatees, dolphins, and the multitude of fish, foul and sea creators is comparable to the living things on land.
She gets a 5 star rating above the awesome view. Its for the thinks she says when she learns to talk to you. Like "I know I stole your heart but welcome home".
Such an amazing place! You see people walking with their backpacks, others cycling while you are there for rowing and paddleball on the beach. That's one of the best places for whom looks for nature in Miami region
We were at the Main Pavilion for a party and it was amazing! it has a great set up and its in a great location in the park. Close to the bathrooms, carousel, train ride, kiddie park, parking lot, concessions, and beach. It is in good condition and also has a spigot - which we used to fill water balloons! Great place for a party!
The beach is not great...but there is so much to do at this park that it wasn't a big deal. If you do decide to go in, the bathrooms are nearby and they have showers with doors down to the floor and hot water as well as changing rooms.
p.s. I'm terrified of lizards and this place is COVERED in iguanas!
The worst beach experience I've ever had in south Florida. The sand felt different from every other beach I've ever been to, it was dirty and a struggle to find parking, the water was not clear and looked nothing like Miami Beach, Halle dale, Fort Lauderdale, or anybeach ive ever encountered between those. I was very disappointed. I got up and left after about 30 minutes.
This is a beautiful place to walk or bike around. There is a historic lighthouse here. If you have the guts to walk to the top it has amazing 360 views. There is a great beach that is much more relaxing and calm than south beach. My choice over SB any day. Plenty of walking trails. There's also a little seafood restaurant and cove where boats tie up if you can find it. Great for families or for a friendly BBQ or picnic. Spend an hour or make a day of it.
Beautiful park & natural preserve! The history beach is inspirational.... I highly recommend that anyone visiting Miami, make it a point to visit this Beach/ Park. The Historic Vriginia Key Beach Park Trust has done a phenomenal job in restoring this historically significant beach.... in a region of many beaches, this truly stands alone.
I know all the beautiful places in miami also restaurants and entertainment 🖒just ask me I'm here
Beautiful place to go, but concert with parking spaces close to water! I didn't feel safe.
Love this beach, you can bring your dog. Great for families. Amazing running path. Just please pick up your trash.
A serene beach to unwind after a stressful day. It doesn't crowded as well as noisy as South Beach. Entry fee is now $5.
Really surprising. A *vast* beach area that has yet to be (re)discovered by most people in Miami, with unique access to the bay and ocean, even with off road biking available at the end of the Key, with astonishing views of the southern tip of South Beach and much of nearby Fisher Island, where you can kayak to easily from this point. Not to be missed, even if a little desolate because so few people visit.
My 5 star rating is based in an afternoon visit after 4pm without the crowds. Beautiful for a walk on the beach with your babe.
Food was not good 2 for 1 happy hour drinks had no alcohol. Avoid this place for a better rated location.
This is my favorite Park to visit in Miami. I love to bring my children here because there are no waves on the beach. It is a clean Beach and sometimes you can see dolphins swimming in the distance. We visited here the last time late at night with a full moon and it was absolutely stunning. I totally recommend making it a point to stop at this park.
Really beautiful spot. Went for a picnic party and my only disappointment is that the beach is not clean, management here should take more care of the park. 🚯
The park and beach area are very nice. The water was clear and cold. This is a historic beach that has been cleaned up nicely. There are several markers highlighting it's history including an old Merry-go-round which still works. I give it 4/5 stars because the day I went, there was some sort of concert going on. We had bikes and had planned on exploring the bicycle trails. Because of the concert and campers alongside the trail, we we're not allowed to go in. Although we we're informed at the entrance gate that there was a concert going on, we we're never told that the bike trail was closed. Instead, we paid the $8 entrance fee and had very limited access to the park.
Go for Progressive Miami International Boat Show set up. It's a wonderful place filled with beautiful people. I highly recommend you visit soon. Preferably during the boat show. Please stop by the Marlow Yachts booth. Tell them John-John sent you. Good Times..
Visited the beach in February of 2018. They were still recovering from the hurricane and a lot of their beach front was not cleaned up yet. Otherwise a lot of the park was still in useable condition.
Best beach ever! I would recommend going. There's a lot of histroy and events there. I would rate 5 stars.
Best part of Miami, I am not a fan of Miami but once you cross the Rickenbacker it is a different world. Clear warm water and beaches greet you as you enjoy the day swimming in calm water. This beach is partially protected so it is usually calmer than South Beach area.
Nice park but too busy for my liking. Can't ever seem to find an area that isn't busy. Only have visited on weekends though. Good place for tourists, not locals. Festivals are here.
Beautiful place, not too crowded. Great place to relax and escape. Remember the park closes at sunset. This beach does offer some shade, there are grills and tables. It has a cool sand bar if you just want to lay in the water and relax.
After 6pm on Sundays it's peacefully and some areas are quiet. You can be with your dog. An excellent therapy for both of us.
Field trip with the school. It was great ad an educational trip that is out of the ordinary, but the area we were in was FULL of sea grass. Not cool if you were planning to just go to the beach, but worked well for our purposes.
Nice place. Shallow waters. A lot of seaweed. Some traffic in the canal, and the current might be tuff. No beach guards the place I was. Might be better more east at the beach.
This place is amazing, very clean, nice beach to enjoy the time. The parking fee to access this park start from 8$ for car. You can rent some installation here and bring events organizer for company picnic or with the family. Or if you want just go around the beach to have an enjoyable time. They have bathroom here, playground for kids and some mechanical horses "carousels". I really recommend this great place. Was a wonderful day.
Great place for private parties. I rented the Dance Pavilion for my daughter's high school graduation party. The pavilion is close to bathrooms and the beach. Rental was a breeze and the price was comparable to most beach venues in Miami. Didn't have any issues with bugs and it is actually quite breezy. There is a parking fee per car even when renting one of the facilities. Overall a great experience.
The beach was clean and has really soft sand. The water was just so nice and warm. It had many different animals which was so cool to see, but the coral and stuff like that hurt when walking inside the water. Other than that it was a beautiful beach plus you might even get to see dophins.
This fun family place. I really can't find a single negative thing to say about my experience. Excellent service. Would definitely recommend people coming here. The family had amazing and it good clean family fun. The rest room was clean and kid friendly. Happy family a happy life
Amazing, relaxing! Anytime that you can find yourself cycling or running over the bridge to the key, definately stop over at Virginia key. The only downside to this is that it has a little funk in the air. Find a spot early, it gets pretty packed. If it gets too busy take a short trip to Bill Baggs park; very relaxing!
Very nice beach. Small shore line due to water erosion, you can see the anchors for the retaining wall that was installed. But, nice beach, went on a Sunday and it wasn't crowded, looked more like a local crowd than a bunch of tourists. Also had a nice playground for kids and plenty of seashells and dried coral if you like collecting those. Water had a good amount of seaweed. Just a nice beach away from the crazy of the main beaches.
Nice beach with lots of palm trees for shade. You can bring your dog as long as it's vaccines, tag, collar and keep the leash on. Pick up the 💩 too, please.
Very clean and relatively quiet compared to Miami Beach. Go early or you're LL wait forever to park.
Excellent service. Would definitely recommend people coming here. Clean and Great place to spend the day. 👍🏼
SPECTACULAR place to watch the sunrise. We arrived about 15 minutes before sunrise and spend about an hour and half at this delightful beach. Other than several bicyclists, we were the only inhabitants on the beach. There were several paddle boarders, and canoes on the water. As the sun started peaking over the horizon we were rewarded with a spectacular vision of amazing colors of nature. The pictures attached barely do justice to the visions of nature. An Incredible place to watch a sunrise.
I loved the little colored beach shacks! Great beach park. Mu girlfriend had her babies birthday party here and it was so nice. Truly a pleasure to be here.
Nice Old Florida beach. Actually a collection of beaches. Can be crowded on weekends, but not during the week. No glass bottles please. Bring swim shoes to protect your feet. Lush nature trails abound. Osprey, Bald eagle, herons, manatee, tarpon( no fishing posted), all visit here. Stiff currents past the rock jetties,
I love this park. It's my favorite. Meeting friends on weekends for game playing and refreshing here can be the best time of the week. Great park in the town. Loved my visit.
Very nice place to visit and relax.
We found ourselves there by accident as we were going somewhere else. Don't regret me using maps to get to where we were going. Virginia key beach was very nice. Too bad we found it a bit late and sundown was just a few minutes away. We did see a very nice sundown.
If you are ever in the area, slow down, stop and see a sunset. You won't regret it.
This place is truly amazing. It's definitely not in it's prime because no concession stands are open and I've never seen the train running. But, it has multiple playgrounds, beach access, BBQ areas, bathrooms, walking/biking trails, soccer fields, cabins to rent, and friendly staff. I highly recommend stopping by and I hope they are able to bring it back to it's full glory because it's such a great place to visit!
Beautiful park! Attended fractal beach music festival and it was an amazing experience on some sacred grounds with a lot of history. Go check this place out! Camping in the little nooks on the beach was so perfect and therapeutic!
Beautiful Park. I was there for the finish line of our race and it was definitely a wonderful way to end the day! Found a cool wooden sculpture. The beach was a sight to see. The water was clear! We had an amazing time. Even met a small kitten! I will definitely be returning here on a day with no race!
The park was beautiful. I was here for a private event and enjoyed the location a lot! We did see some man of war jelly fish so watch out!
The beach is full of insects. So definitely do not go there thinking that you’ll kay down at the beach. Really nice to bike and then stop by there to look at the view that’s amazing.
I have been going to this park for 13 years. It has really become a jewel. I remember going fishing as a child there. It doesn't get five stars because there is not a current fishing area for my kids and I that I noticed.
Speed limits should be enforced a little bit more when passing people on bikes. But this place is amazing. We spent 5 hrs bike riding and sight seeing. We made alot of lifetime memories today
Great beach to relax and play. I love coming to this beautiful beach. Has restrooms facilities. There’s lifeguards usually guarding this area. Great place to bring your kayak or paddle board and launch from the shore. Small parking lot so if you get there early enough you shouldn’t have an issue of finding a spot.
We love this park. Good parking and nice beach right next to parking. Great views of the harbor. I don't know what facilities are available, if any.
I really like this beach! My kids love it.. easy access .. even when it’s difficult the parking.. is cool here.. 💖
Went here for ultra music festival. The place is beautiful but it has only one bridge in and out and once that's crowded the traffic is insane. It took us 45 minutes to go 4 miles. Plus cops had blocked lanes on both sides of the bridge that didn't make things any easier.
Ultra 2019 was an Amazing experience. The location has a very special feel to it. Shows the world how Miami FL is a 1 of 1 city. Great 3 days it was perfect.
Making this note as a creative (mostly photographer).
Haven't been to Virginia Key in awhile, it was nice to be back.
The relentless onslaught of mosquitoes and other beach parasites has not let up. You will be dealing with the bites for days.
For undisturbed, alternative, private photography or filming this is the best public place in metro Miami.
This was a shallow beach good for wading in the water. There is a lot of nature present, including puffer fish, crabs, snails and exotic birds. It was not that busy. There was a not so great smell about the water along with some dead sea life along the beach. There was a great deal of algae too.
This is a very beautiful piece of land. They have events at this location. But there is also access on any regular day. There are places to rent kayaks and long boards, or mountain bikes. There is a small parking lot, and lots of great beaches and paths to walk along. There are also showers, playgrounds and bathrooms on site.
The Park is damn beautiful, it is big and it's pretty comfortable. The park is divided in many areas, the one in the photos is the one designated for swimming. There's a Hammock area and a Bicycle Trail. I love this place. Added to my favorite places list in Florida.
Beautiful area. Doesn't get crazy packed. Parking isn't large bit there's more than enough spots available (whenever I was around).
Always kept clean.
This beach is a tranquil scene if you want it to be or a party scene if that's what you wanna go for on any given day. It lends itself to your interpretation of paradise with its semi-private shores. It's shallow and with lots of seaweed and creatures.
Very nice park to go and relax for a day. The beaches are clean and quiet. Not a lot of people most of the time. You show explore a little and see the light house for sure.
I have visited once with friends, and also for work. Beautiful sights and relaxing areas to beach and chill. The most amazing place to watch a sunset! And no paying for parking👌🏽
This place was amazing! Its shallow and the current is not strong great for the kids to swim in without worry. Has many shades and picnic table with a grill next to it. They also have a changing room with a shower and yes they have Hot Water! Up north you can take your kids to see the iguanas. Parking was $5 and I would recommend giving it a try. I would give this a 5star if there was less seaweed here.
5 holy stars especially in the morning for a great bike ride and views. Not so great when folks wake up and start arriving and driving on the roads. Still the best views of Miami with lots of parking. The beaches are freindly, shallow and good for kids and folks training.
The cove is pristine and quiet. I went to search for sea glass. It was almost deserted because there’s no swimming allowed. I enjoyed the quiet and beauty,
Despite many not liking this place for ULTRA - I thought it was awesome!!! Would love to come back next year. The amount of space was ridiculous - Very nice atmosphere with trails in the middle of what felt were jungles. Liked it.
💕💓😍I love this spot and have been going since 1996! You can bike around and find secluded spots to chill out and appreciate the ocean! Excellent bike trails! One of the best beach spots in Miami in my opinion!
It gives a clear view of tall buildings with backwater. Good place to click photos in the afternoon. You can use free trolly to reach there. People do kayak and paddling as well.. there is a small play area for kids in the corner.
They seem to be constantly updating an improving the biking trails they've improved a lot of the last few years. There's a facility on site to rent bikes, helmets, kayaks etc. There's also a station to wash your bike and there's plenty of parking. It's $6 cash to get in the park though, don't forget your cash.
Very Nice Place to get close to nature....the ocean and to come close to your MAKER.....if you decide to go and meditate about life...family...work... JEHOVAH God...specially Jehovah God....our MAKER.
We are his image and the MIGHTY creation and astonishing design to show the Universe that HE is the Almighty, King of kings and the Sovereign in the whole Universe!!!
The Rustic Pelican has been a staple of Miami for the last 30+ years. The food was good and the ambiance is excellent. God bless😊🙏🙏🙏
Hidden Jewel in Miami. Beach with palms, free umbrellas and picnic tables with lots of shade. Beautiful mountain bike trails too!
Visited here for the Miami international boat show last year. Area feels like it’s getting a tad old now. Although with that said it is still. Very clean and very popular area. Beaches were nice and clean. Lots of attractions in the area to suit all sorts of people. We got lucky with the weather at the time of year we went. Overall was a great experience visiting and would be more than happy to return to the area in the future. Highly recommended if you wish to see more areas of Miami Florida United States of America’s!
Went there for a small festival. You probably won't see the horse with pink hair on its main. There was food and drink for the festival, but it might be a quiet place to stop by and just enjoy the beach and water.
Baymax first time in the beach. He had a lovely time and eventually got into the water. Lots of parking and clean beach. Great place!
I attended the Vegandale Festival here with friends. Great beach cleaner and less crowded. I was able to take a quick nap under the tree without any issues. Then I ride my bike home. Very relaxing and comfortable beach. Great spot for larger families.
It was really calm. The water was nice and it was relatively clean. It's a great place to calmly relax and get in and get out quickly. Great for dogs and young families.
Great beach, mild waves, very limited parking. But not crowded as Miami Beach. Food options are mostly food trucks, so bring your own.
Beautiful piece of beach with splendid view on Miami downtown. Very narrow part of sand limited by palm trees and (free!) parking. After some time spent there, we had delicious lunch in Rusted Pelican. Highly recommended both places
Had an awesome time donating my time and toys from my jobs Christmas toy drive that we do every year called "Toys for Kids" We collect new toys for underprivileged kids and families at all MIAMI DADE FIRE RESCUE STATIONS from November - December and all the left over toys that weren't given to families throughout the community we gave away at an event held here for Adopted and Foster children. Truly a blessing
Awesome scenic park overlooking the water. Great for outside activities; canoeing, great biking trails and family picnics. Check it out!
Great alternative to the other beaches in Key Biscayne. Very nice area full of grills, tables, etc. The view on a nice day is spectacular. Easy to park, $8 per car to get in. The only bad thing was the restroom 🤢 super dirty and it was only 12pm when we arrived... please keep them cleaner!
I took my niece to the kayaks to see the manatees, we took public transport so we walk the mile and a half under the sun to get there from the entrance, on the way back we were very tired but started walking, the park ranger pass in his pickup and offered to give us a ride to the door, we told him we were taking the bus, he took us to the bus station!!! We had a unforgettable time we will never forget. Thank you park ranger you are the BEST!!!
Nice beach spot that doesn't get overcrowded like many other areas in Miami. Plenty of parking and nice bike/ walking trails. There's also quite a few sheltered areas for large groups. You can also rent bikes, chairs and umbrellas. And if you get hungry there is a restaurant. My only thing is I think the bathrooms could be maintained a little better.
Nice free Beach with amazing views of the ocean. Even in the afternoon, we were able to see fish soon around us and even saw a sea cucumber on through the water. Only negative thing was a person smoking cigars, which carried over thru the air, and some people not distancing enough, and small amounts of old litter on the sand. There were no changing rooms near us either but maybe that's the way it is... We'll plan better next time.
Crocodiles live there! Take bug spray! Disc golfers prepare to lose a disc. But still easily one of the most amazing scenic parks offered .
Seems like a nice little park although the facilities looked older from the exterior. I went during a weekday and just walked around for 15 minutes. It was during the pandemic so I didn't have to pay to get in.
The beach is on the way to the beautiful Key Biscayne. Beach with a natural environment, suitable for relaxing and excellent for water sports. Its waters are very hot and full of seaweed. Beautiful view over Miami (downtown). Note that there is a toll on the way ($ 3).
The beach is perfectly quiet. The walking trails are fresh break from the city. If you have a bike that goes off road, you'll love this place just as much. Make sure you bring a helmet.
Love this place for subset pictures. I'm a photographer and always recommend this spot to my clients.
The beach is nice. There are vendors conveniently placed for food, chairs, umbrellas, etc. The problem was the area where I was smelled like feces. Every time the wind shifted it brought the smell. Overall a nice experience though and my child had a blast!
A magnificent jewel for Miami. How this park came about is a testament to all, especially the black community for their perseverance in overcoming racial divides.
