How would you rate Gorilla Graphics ?
Very fun place to take the kids or take a date to. It's amazing seeing all the different animals on display. I thing that I have to point out however that littering in the zoo is a obvious problem. When I walked and observed all the animal exhibits i noticed garbage on the ground and in the animal cages. This is very unhealthy for the animals and is not pleasant to look at. I'd wish that there were more trash cans around so there would be less littering.
I love taking my grandchildren to the zoo. I took friends and their grandchildren. We arrived at noon, and after they took our money we were told the zoo was closing at 3:00. I saw no notice of the zoo's closure on the news or in the newspaper. The least they could have done is given us a discount for allowing us 1/3 of the time we paid for.
Not what it used to be, but when I went there with my family my little brother enjoyed himself. There were a lot of exhibits shut down and a lot of animals that are no longer there from when I went a year ago. Still pretty good though.
If you want to see animals go somewhere else! The enclosures are too free roaming for my tastes. All we got to see was a horn or an ear or the twitch of a tail from a long (relatively) distance away. The price is too high for what you get.
We gave five stars because while we refuse to attend any future after zoo hours events, we enjoy the zoo during the normal hours. As far as the night event's or the members only events, we tried them all, and we were miserable every time. They close down 2/3 of the zoo and with the extra foot traffic, it is literally elbow to elbow.
We attended wildlight event recently and we were a little disappointed with the members 2.00 discount (only Sun-Thur BTW). Some people were shoving through the crowds, and one man was actually smoking in the zoo (GROSS!!!). In the indoor playground, some kids were running wild and it was just too busy for parents to properly watch kids. My son was actually pushed down the stairs by the slide (three feet from me) and while he wasn't injured, my heart stopped. A friends one year old was in the crawler area had her hand stepped on by another parent, and some kids were too old to be in there pushing the younger ones around.
The members night had lines that were a joke. We drove an hour and a half to get there with traffic (usually takes 20 minutes), and we were only at the zoo 10 minutes, the only thing to show was wasting gas to get there. Again, 2/3 of the zoo was closed off and we were miserable. While I understand the reasons why the zoo is closed off, and for some the event is fun, it just wasn't for us. Others who don't do well in crowded places should be aware that these events are CROWDED.
During the day, we LOVE the zoo. We are members and it is worth every penny. We go at least once a month, but weekly in the nicer weather. My husband doesn't go as often since my son and I go during the week when he works. We plan on renewing our membership for only myself and son. We don't mind paying half the general admission for my husband since he doesn't go as much.
The information given by the zoo staff is great! I love that they have people set up to answer questions about the animals.
Food is expensive, but there is a lot to pick from in the food court. You can pack a lunch (we do that) and eat it in the picnic areas.
A great experience at this local Columbia City shop.
