How would you rate Duke Ellington Memorial?
The one problem I have with this school is what it did to my friend. She is a senior in high school. She had rightfully earned a spot at NYU. A few months later she has recently learned that NYU took away her acceptance and gave someone else her spot. To me that is ridiculous and unfair. She rightfully earned her spot and that school has made a huge mistake by changing their minds. My friend is an amazing student and dancer. I hope they realize what the y did was wrong.
Essentially, NYU is an ambitious school with greedy corporate intentions first and educating privileged and wealthy students second. Why ambitious and greedy? NYU seeks to build an empire around the world by establishing campuses in Shanghai and Abu Dhabi and sites around the world by charging high tuition rates and offering low financial aid to talented students who need it most. To mention some of the good things, there are some good individuals with good intentions, including some professors who genuinely care about the education of the students.
I had the best experience attending the MSW program at NYU. The Professors were wonderful! I still value my education and experience I had there 22years ago.
From an academic standpoint, this school is top notch. Some professors are lacking, but most are very knowledgeable and will offer to help. It's just that most of the faculty I've encountered are either leaders in their field or those who are engaging in other work and both types of people don't want to be bothered by stupid freshmen and sophomores who didn't bother trying to learn anything on their own. I'm pretty sure college is supposed to give you, if nothing else, the ability to be a self-starter, i.e. on who can learn things on their own. NYU excels in that respect. There's also an amazing city that every 21-year old and student w/a fake can enjoy, which simply pales most other experiences by comparison.
Honestly NYU is fine. Nothing great I enjoy going there. At NYU you will get a good education but you will be around a lot of hipsters. If you do not mind chilling around a lot of hipsters then you will like NYU. If you do mind chilling with hipsters then you will not like NYU. All in all the education is solid though.
Love my alma mater.
Honestly, I don't think I'd ever choose another college over NYU. It simply has everything. You have the whole city at your fingertips. You just have to choose to utilize it in the best way possible for you. New York is big enough for you to find anyone you want, but also large enough that you can just blend in if you want. I can't imagine going to school in a boring old college town. So far I'm loving it.
Great university. One of the best in most fields. It is the best university for international students.
it was amazing i do want people to go there
... the experience was once in a lifetime... the thrill will live with me forever... in the end, i'll miss you all!
Don't let yourself become set on fire by someone else here. The school won't report it for months until they feel like it
i love new york university that a great university to go to can't wait to go to that university in 2 years
25th Annual Latino College Expo Leadership Summit! Great event.! Thank you to Antonio Aponte!
Then began Satan to whisper suggestions to them, bringing openly before their minds all their shame that was hidden from them (before): he said: "Your Lord only forbade you this tree, lest ye should become angels or such beings as live for ever."
The place is awesome or acesome lol.
I've never seen or heard of the school till I heard Nicki & Beyoncé's song, feelin myself. lyrics go, "He say, "Damn, bae, you so little, but you be really takin' that pipe." I say, "Yes, daddy, I do, Gimme brain like NYU."... Must be a pretty cool place.
I love this school! Anything you'd come to New York for is within an arm's reach and that makes it the best place for when you invite family over.
I went here to visit my friend who was on internship, she had an amazing time here! She loved the psychology department and English as well. I'm now I'm attending here and I love this school! I'm studying for psychology and I'm now planning to study in London!
My alma mater. Loved it here. so many memories. Riding my bike and skateboarding to campus. Meeting so many diverse, friendly, awesome people from many different backgrounds all with the same goal: higher education and memories. Great "campus" in the village embowering beautiful Washington Square Park. :)
My experience was excellent I love the university and the personal that was there at the time I attended.
Great university of the town i have wish to study in New York University in the computer science department. i love this
I love this scholl I do not attend it but I go here all the time to do gigs, they school is big but I been here so much I know my way around, the security guards are nice and the stundents are too. The area is really nice and they have alot of places to shop and eat and also nice parks to chill in.
An expensive, elitist, greedy private university with a famous name and mediocre academics. And it doesn't have a campus. Go to Columbia or any university anywhere else in the nation!
I don't think there's another university I'd choose over NYU. I'm gonna study and live there. New York is where I belong. 🙌🏻
One of the best decisions I made in my adult life. Always NYU👍🏼
Good school, really amazing teachers and classes, but the prices do not match the amount of information I learned.
Me and my cousins wanna be actors and we are practicing really hard and hope we can join with you . And probably sign up during spring break or summer if parts or open
Super awesome and smart college in the most amazing city in the world
As a graduate, I can't complain. They gave me a great education in Nursing.
Wonderful location! Nice facilities! Love the vibe whenever I visit!
Very nice university to enroll in. There are lot of hot girls to gawk at. But the security guards are all fat asses who gets breathless even by walking at normal pace.
This is a nice place to visit. The library is huge with a great books collection. They also have historic manuscripts from some of the works of all renowned authors.
Modern facilities. Top professors (most of the time). Great location. Expensive AF though.
Great real world environment for learning! Very broad with great experiences for undergraduate and graduate students! Biology dept. is amazing!
This is one of the best universities in the world, which seamlessly integrates the dynamic NYC life and the campus environment. Living in Greenwich Village is the best place in Manhattan for me.
Too expensive. About to get my degree though. I give 4 or 5 stars to everything but anything money related. They get negative stars for that if that is possible. They promised me that my financial aid and scholarship wouldn't be affected. It was a big lie. I took classes in Poly, Stern and CAS. Great education.
NYU is my daughters dream school we drove 3 hours for a campus tour and it was the most disappointing thing I've ever been to. We literally saw NOTHING I know less about this school then before I went. The entire tour consisted of yapping around the streets and standing outside buildings or in hallways. We saw not one classroom, school or dorm room, we literally didn't see anything! I'm so annoyed and disappointed. I'm not sure if it's the tour or the tour guide itself that was the problem but it wasn't okay.
i like eggs. eggs are nice. and so is nyu.
ps: im a little fried egg trying to make it in the big vegan world pls send me some buttered bread
My son graduated from NYU Med School. Loved it and the wonderful, beautiful, cosmopolitan area. Carnegie Hall graduation was special. 🤗👍🏻
Finished my masters in social work after transfering from Columbia. Overall good experience as a student veteran (ex military) and administration very helpful on answering questions and providing direction.
Lynne McVeigh Molly Fermaglich Sharon Badal the female filmmaking staff at this school is probably responsible for me being named 1 in 6 female filmmakers to watch by Indiewire and Sydney Levine.
I am poor Indian please accept me to your school. I give you 5 star. Allah be with you.
Pretty awesome location, good education standards, good facilities, good commitment to international students, a direct presence in major cities in the planet and a definitely top of the line overall experience. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because it is too expensive for the average student and the space of the New York campus is small, regardless of its awesome location
my name Pierce Jackson
nice meet to you
i am good player strong basketball on future
we bless of new york university safe way
Watch out NY University cause i m coming to this school in 5-6 years and i m gonna be a an actor and be famous.
heard its cool there i would tranfer my scholorship
I was into street performing. I used to juggle carrots, 2 bananas and a parrot, but things got bad and so I had to eat the act.
My big brother went there, and now he works as a transplant surgeon! The reason why there isn't 5 stars is because of the cost. Really expensive. Otherwise, the graduation ceremony was great, and I plan on going there too!
haha watch out 'cause me and my best friend are coming and we'll probably blow up the whole place...so i'm just going to apologize in advance
amazing school to go to.
someone stepped on my timbs
I love the school, and it's somewhere I want to go, but my rating is more on my campus tour experience. They probably talked about academics for a total of 10 minutes the entirety of the tour, and maybe dedicated 45 minutes to their study-abroad program. My entire tour was spent hearing about how amazing NYC is, how diverse NYC is, how "NYC is your campus," and how they have campuses in two other countries. I learned nothing that wasn't common knowledge or I could get from a quick google search of the school. I didn't get to see a dorm room, only saw one classroom, didn't get to see the library(although we did get to go inside of the hall leading up to the library as if that means anything), didn't even get to see a dining hall. I understand that the diversity, culture, and big city/big apple experience is an important selling point for the school, but it's also important to inform the people who went out of their way to visit your campus about clubs, ACADEMICS, teachers, dorms, and the things that actually matter. I went to that tour to become more informed so that I'd finally be able to 100% say that this is the school I want, but I left more confused, with a bunch of subjective "facts" of importance.
20 years ago NYU was cutting edge,...recently I returned to support my daughter's enrollment process and was speechless. My daughter is a very respectful, quiet and educated student. The university serves somewhat an opposite agenda.
I had faith in the quality I once knew yet, my daughter was apprehensive. After we had lunch and went to a movie she decided the violence and inequality was overbearing. Sorry NYU, there seems to be an integrity shift.
If madison Tart doesnt get in, then this place sux.
My daughter is attending NYU, class of 2020, as parents we are very much convinced that this is an awesome school worth every penny. The professors and staff are wonderful and as per tuition it may be expensive but my daughters education is worth every penny. If there is one thing you can give your children in life is a good education which is why NYU is the school for us.
I am Farrah Lv. I am an artist almost graduate from NYU. I love the city and the school. I love Italian food. Such a nice environment, I hang out with my cute boy friend every week. My dorm in near Union Square, feel free to visit. I am lonely when my boy friend is not around.
I studied here and don't regret the invested time and money at all. Am still in touch with some classmates and exchange ideas or just stories. A great range of courses for everyone.
Awesome school with a great alumni through the world. Expensive but all worth it if you have some internships.
The value of the education one receives at NYU extends beyond the classroom or the degree earned. The network one buys into by competing their studies here is invaluable.
The campus environment compliments the vibrant city that is New York. All around the world the Violet torch is a beacon of prestige.
gr8 collage m8 r8 8/8 would learn again but it was a bit hard to get into
Top University. Dream College to me. College of Dentistry is the best.
Not too shabby at all. Keep up the great work NYU!
One of the best schools in the world in arguably the best city on the planet. They have a wide range of classes and the campus is unlike almost any other in the country. If you get accepted, go here!
I am so lucky to be a student here. I love this school and the students here are the best.
It became one of the nation's largest universities, with an enrollment of 9,300 in 1917. NYU had its Washington Square campus since its founding. The university purchased a campus at University Heights in the Bronx because of overcrowding on the old campus. NYU also had a desire to follow New York City's development further uptown. NYU's move to the Bronx occurred in 1894, spearheaded by the efforts of Chancellor Henry Mitchell MacCracken. The University Heights campus was far more spacious than its predecessor was. As a result, most of the university's operations along with the undergraduate College of Arts and Science and School of Engineering were housed there. NYU's administrative operations were moved to the new campus, but the graduate schools of the university remained at Washington Square. In 1914, Washington Square College was founded as the downtown undergraduate college of NYU. In 1935, NYU opened the "Nassau College-Hofstra Memorial of New York University at Hempstead, Long Island". This extension would later become a fully independent Hofstra University.
In 1950, NYU was elected to the Association of American Universities, a nonprofit organization of leading public and private research universities.
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, financial crisis gripped the New York City government and the troubles spread to the city's institutions, including NYU. Feeling the pressures of imminent bankruptcy, NYU President James McNaughton Hester negotiated the sale of the University Heights campus to the City University of New York, which occurred in 1973. In 1973, the New York University School of Engineering and Science merged into Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, which eventually merged into NYU in 2014 forming the present Tandon School of Engineering. After the sale of the Bronx campus, University College merged with Washington Square College. In the 1980s, under the leadership of President John Brademas, NYU launched a billion-dollar campaign that was spent almost entirely on updating facilities. The campaign was set to complete in 15 years, but ended up being completed in 10. In 2003 President John Sexton launched a $2.5 billion campaign for funds to be spent especially on faculty and financial aid resources.
In 2009, the university responded to a series of New York Times interviews that showed a pattern of labor abuses in its fledgling Abu Dhabi location, creating a statement of labor values for Abu Dhabi campus workers. A 2014 follow-up article found that while some conditions had improved, contractors for the multibillion-endowment university were still frequently subjecting their workers to third-world labor conditions. The article documented that these conditions included confiscation of worker passports, forced overtime, recruitment fees and cockroach-filled dorms where workers had to sleep under beds. According to the article, workers who attempted to protest the NYU contractors' conditions were promptly arrested. The university responded the day of the article with an apology to the workers. Another report was published and it maintains that those who were on strike were arrested by police who then promptly abused them in a police station. Many of those who were not local were then deported to their country. In 2015, NYU compensated thousands of migrant workers on its Abu Dhabi complex.
Great educational institution helping emerging minds achieve their greatest potential! You can’t beat the vibe, location and potential when attending this school, despite the high cost of tuition and housing.

I am so sorry I did not go to college. I have been praying for my girl to get in for the coming September. Her dream is to attend NYU, and her passion for the arts is sincere and well desrving of the best educational experience possible for a person who has the talent in dance, singing, songwriting, acting, and the ability to play several instruments without any professional training. I have to keep the positive thoughts flowing...prayers going, and I believe that she is going to make it. She's always been my miracle....Please God, grant her this one.
They hire people who openly call for the genocide of white people. New York University is sick and twisted. History will not look kindly on this feminist indoctrination camp and those who helped try to commit the genocide.
I got in and I'm sure it's an amazing school, but it's just way too expensive and they weren't too helpful with financial aid for someone with a relatively low income. I have mixed feelings about NYU because it was and still is a dream school of mine, but they don't seem to care too much about people who aren't rich and can actually afford to go here. I'm applying here again for grad school, so hopefully it's a more pleasant experience.
Labor for learning before we grow old ,for learning is better than silver and gold, silver and gold will vanish away ,but a good education will never decay...NYU is the Fort Knox of knowledge..it is the place to learn.
Thinking eCommerce? Think TechIndiaSoftware!
Yes, I have worked with this team for 2 of my premier projects and they delivered beyond expectations on both of them. I am very happy to recommend their services to anyone who is looking to build an ecommerce platform.
In 1831, Albert Gallatin, the distinguished statesman who served as secretary of the treasury under Presidents Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, declared his intention to establish "in this immense and fast-growing city ... a system of rational and practical education fitting for all and graciously opened to all."
Founded in 1831, New York University is now one of the largest private universities in the United States. Of the more than 3,000 colleges and universities in America, New York University is one of only 60 member institutions of the distinguished Association of American Universities. From a student body of 158 during NYU's very first semester, enrollment has grown to more than 50,000 students at three degree-granting campuses in New York City, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai, and at study away sites in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North and South America. Today, students come from every state in the union and from 133 foreign countries.
NYU is an excellent place to get an education. Located in the heart of NYC, the greatest city in the world by far in my opinion, makes it especially desirable. The campus is surrounded by every type of business imaginable. Easy access to the Subway system places the entire city at your feet. The University undergraduate, graduate programs, offer an extensive amount of specialties. My son went to their graduate program and said the professors were engaging and phenomenally bright. Washington Square Park is vibrant. Nightlife is truly amazing. It is the city that never sleeps after all. The school is rather expensive, but the professors and location make it all worth while. It isn't difficult to see why so many dream of getting accepted to NYU.
It is hard to interact with more people that hate their jobs than if you were a student at NYU. The Brooklyn campus is especially egregious, most people in Manhattan at least try to pretend to care at least some of the time.
Also if you are an alumni, NYU spams you with emails that are very hard to unsubscribe from, probably in violation of spam legislation. It is hard to adequately describe how callous, apathetic, inconsiderate many people who work at NYU are.
Professors here are great. Also the facilities are good as well. Located in a busy place, the plus is you can get away from school and go shopping right to Soho, the down side is it's not as quiet as a university should be. Btw, Washington Square Park is a great place to be if you want to get closer to nature and talent musicians. Located in New York City, you have many chances to meet different people and have great opportunities for business and so on, but also you need to bear with crowds and noise etc.
This is the best nursing writing company I have ever used. You saved me when I desperately needed the help. I will use your services in future
Albert Gallatin, Secretary of Treasury under Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, declared his intention to establish "in this immense and fast-growing city ... a system of rational and practical education fitting and graciously opened to all". A three-day-long "literary and scientific convention" held in City Hall in 1830 and attended by over 100 delegates debated the terms of a plan for a new university. These New Yorkers believed the city needed a university designed for young men who would be admitted based upon merit rather than birthright or social class.
On April 18, 1831, an institution was established, with the support of a group of prominent New York City residents from the city's merchants, bankers, and traders.Albert Gallatin was elected as the institution's first president. On April 21, 1831, the new institution received its charter and was incorporated as the University of the City of New York by the New York State Legislature; older documents often refer to it by that name. The university has been popularly known as New York University since its inception and was officially renamed New York University in 1896. In 1832, NYU held its first classes in rented rooms of four-story Clinton Hall, situated near City Hall. In 1835, the School of Law, NYU's first professional school, was established. Although the impetus to found a new school was partly a reaction by evangelicalPresbyterians to what they perceived as the Episcopalianism of Columbia College, NYU was created non-denominational, unlike many American colleges at the time.American Chemical Society was founded in 1876 at NYU.
As an Alumni, I have a special place in my heart for NYU. This is a great school for students that are looking for a top-notch education in a city environment. The campus is definitely a city setting. When you step out of your dorm or classroom buildings, you are on the streets of NYC.
I had the time of my life at New York University. It’s one of the best schools in the country offering an outstanding learning experience with everything you can imagine in New York City. It was an exciting experience living and studying at NYU. I lived on campus in the NYU dormitory on Washington Square Park before moving into my own apartment on Fifth Avenue close to classes at NYU. My father rented a very cool 😎 apartment for me suggesting I should try to find a roommate to help defray expenses. Luckily NYU is full of students in need of housing so I had no difficulty finding a roommate for my absolutely wonderful New York City apartment. After becoming friends with countless foreign students, I became engaged to a math major from another country. He worked at Cartier to supplement his scholarship to NYU, getting a 50% discount from Cartier. He bought me an engagement ring 💍 making me very happy 😊. We enjoyed our lives at New York University, enrolled in different schools and meeting for dinner when we had the time. Local restaurants in New York are absolutely amazing 😉 and can easily tempt you as an NYU student, as can all activities in this fabulous city. We established time restrictions in order to focus on our studies 📖 at NYU because it’s tempting to enjoy the New York City campus all too often. NYU is an excellent university affording a unique 😉 university experience.
It's can locate any time
And I love nyu
Professional coursework is wonderful, especially for travelers/international students with conference style classes and great networking.
NYU is probably not for you. If you took the time to read this and do some research, you are too smart for this money pit. Find a university that enables critical thinking and parity.

Today December 13 , The University of Michigan said Monday it will not renew its agreement with the Confucius Institute ( Chinese Communist ) when the partnership expires in 2019. What about NYU ?
Had a great time... thank you
Great infra. Great Faculty. Great Environment
I think this place is awesome and when I grow up I'll go there
