How would you rate Mardi Gras on Madison?
I am the daughter of the owners of this restaurant and I've got to say I love their food. All y'all complainin about how we r never open, but that's bc we have no staff to clean, cook ,or wait tables. My parents are sweet people, whenever someone comes in my mother says "hello!! How may we help you today!" And when someone leaves she says "thank you for coming have a great night!" I highly recommend going to my parents restaurant Mardi Gras On Madison
My first taste of Cajun food. I can't put the experience in words. I had quite a few food firsts here. Follow them on Facebook to see when they are open. I believe they are a pop up or something like that. You will be happy you tried them.
Never open, have to use facebook to confirm the stars are aligned and M.G.O.M. is open. That being said i've had the best catfish of my life at this place. Get spicy honey on everything you are allowed to.
This place has strange hours so you do need to check their Facebook to see if they open that day. But I'm still going to give them 4 stars because the food was amazing. It is hard to find seafood in Ohio because it's in the Midwest. I had the spicy po boy. The waitress told me this is their most popular item and I can see why
Very friendly and the event vinyl night was awesome.
Spicy , delicious and plentiful just as one would expect from NOLA people. Price was a bit high, but not unreasonable.
Food and service great. First time for my lady and she loved it.
Best oysters ever! Lunch was great.
The best food in the city in my opinion. I'd eat every meal there if I could! Everything they make is phenomenal...my favs: Shrimp Po Boys, Catfish & Etouffee. I go to New Orleans a lot and this is as authentic as you'll get in Cincinnati and it would be a top pick place even in New Orleans. Follow them on Facebook to see when they open...it is worth the extra effort!
The food is the bomb diggity... I try to watch what I eat on most days...but this is one of my favorite restaurants to go to for a splurge. It's one of the few places where the food is worth it and the prices are reasonable for what you get...YUMMY.
Great time.. Preparing menu for my dad repass. Great Services. Thanks you
This place is like a pop-up shop.. Follow them on social media and they will tell you when they are open. They stay open till food lasts. Because the food is excellent.. It's worth the hassle.
I was in Mardi Gras on December 23 for the first time and I really enjoyed myself along with my family and friends. I can’t wait to take my girlfriend
Excellent food- catfish, greens (I ate 3 helpings) and pecan pie. Great place for a meeting!
Can't get enough. Staff is welcoming and friendly. Food is delicious! Spicy honey shrimp po boy is a must.
Authentic New Orleans food! Plates over flowing. Enough food for more than 1 meal. Down home atmosphere. Get there early cause it sells out quickly.
Best food ever!!! The corn bread and spicey honey drizzle was to die for!!!
Extremely gracious host, tasty food, awesome vives, and an incredibly good dancer. Yeah it's hard to find the times to go here, because the literally whenever they decide to open, but if they're open and you're passing by get yourself in there, the food is delicious
Food was raw and the service was as bad as the Patio Tree House Patio Bar.
I love the food and the selection they have there. It's great for the money.
Omg! I lived in Louisiana and this food is everything as my wife would say. The fish...the m%fdsjh fish is amazing!
I feel at home at Mardi Gras on Madison! The food is ALWAYS great and the hospitality is even better! Ms. Toya, Mr. Randy and their crew are great people!
Love it. Great customer service. Authentic cuisine.
Fantastic food and service! We got jambalaya and corn bread catered for a UC Football tailgate party. The whole group ranted and raved about that food. Job well done.
It's a it's a perfect little out-of-the-way place that you can rent for functions
Food was excellent. I shall be returning.
The service and food is AWESOME! I can't eat the seafood due to allergies but I indulge in everything else. My absolute favorite is signature spicey honey wings, no napkin needed.
This place is AMAZING!!! The food is EXCELLENT! Such a shame they are only open for special events.
Bisque and shrimp po boy are incredible! Some of the best food in the city, with large portion sizes. Extremely friendly staff, awesome atmosphere, great for an event
They are always so gracious and accommodating whenever my group comes in! Delicious food, too!
The best New Oleans style cooking in Cincinnati. Great Atmosphere, Great Service, but most of all, Great FOOD.
Whether we go during open hours, or have a private catered gathering, the food and service is second to none! Toya brings authentic New Orleans cuisine to Ohio and she NEVER disappoints.
First off let me start by saying their food is delicious! Everything I have had there has been superb. With that being said it isn't without its flaws and unfortunately there some major flaws.
1. This place seriously needs to decide what type of food business it wants to be. Catering, food truck, or an actual restaurant. This whole being a popup food place is just infuriating at times and hurts them in my opinion. Many months back they kept dropping hints like they were actually going to officially stay open with regular hours or at the very least begin offering more opportunities to get their food but I have yet to see any of that happen. In fact, they have been open less now than ever. Whatever these big plans of theirs they were promising clearly aren't related to making their food more available.
2. Kind of already got into it in my last point but yeah it is hardly ever open even though they have a perfect establishment to operate out of. For a while they were consistently opening for lunch 3 times a week, but would sell out within a few hours. This made it very difficult to ever be able to eat there. Really the only reliable way you are going to be able to try it is by going through their catering service. Their catering may be great, but for the average person who just wants lunch/dinner without having to order a minimum quantity that could feed an army a month in advance it just isn't feasible.
2. Their prices are outrageously high! If you are lucky enough to go when they are open expect to spend at least $20 and that's usually just for a poboy sandwich and a drink. It gets even higher if you want to add any sides or get something more than a sandwich. That can be pretty steep in my opinion if you are just trying to get lunch, which when they are open is usually for lunch time hours. Every now and then they will be available on grubhub/doordash, but after all the extra fees get put in you are spending close to $30 for a meal that gets delivered in a Styrofoam to go box. I just laughed when I saw that price and closed the app.
3. Since the only way to know if they are open is through facebook you essentially have to have facebook notify you anytime they post anything to their page, which 90% of the time is just food pic posts and stuff going on in their lives. I'm close to unfollowing them honestly. Another thing that they have tried is taking orders in advance and then you pick them up on the day that they set. Not a bad idea but the problem was you were placing an order for almost a month in advance. There's no way I can commit to being able to go pick up an order that far in advance. Now if it was maybe a week in advance then maybe I could plan for that. Definitely not a month out though.
Hopefully, they will decide what direction they want to take their business in the near future. I feel like most likely it will be catering seeing how I don't believe they have had the restaurant open to the public since late last year. Without these major flaws I would gladly give this place a 5/5. Unfortunately it is just poorly ran.
Cajun food and the setting at this location is excellent. It has a great interior. They have a lot of good reviews for a reason.
The food is all homemade and it is phenomenal! I have had there hot jambalaya and chicken gumbo. It is new orleans-style food! Top-notch!
Cajun food, mmm, excellent. dropped in on tues. i'll return with my friends. prices were decent.
Authentic down home New Orleans cuisine...devine!
Whoa! The Po' Boy Spicy Catfish... Amazing!
Food is terrific! There was a wait and a little confusion with orders but well worth the wait!
I'm in love with the people here and the food. This place is to die for.
Great New Orleans cuisine. I have been satisfied with everything I've tried so far. FYI whenever you have to follow them on social media to know when you can get food since they mainly are catering and pop-up style.
Followed the great folks from food truck to Blue Ash to current location. Food is amazing. Its authentic Louisiana home cooking +. I've had over 100 poboys in my life and the 30 or so they've served me are the top 30
Because they are only open when they feel like cooking, and stock very little to only run out an hour into opening. I hear it's good, though. Hence, the 2nd star.
The food is delicious!!!! Catfish po boy, Hennessy sweet potatoes, spoon bread which to me is like a dessert and Zapp's chips!! Very good New Orleans cuisine!!
We had the New Orleans to go food truck at our event and it was a HUGE hit! Incredible, authentic, NOLA eats, can't recommend them enough! Their whole operation is family run and a joy to work with.
AMAZING food, AMAZING Hospitality, New Orleans Soul at it Best‼️ Love ... Pure Love the owner has for EVERYONE 💖 CATERING IS BEYOND AMAZING 👌🏾 TRY IT ONCE, I PROMISE YOU'LL BE BACK FOR MORE💯
They are a family restaurant with no backup chef, so they are only open when they say on Facebook (and probably Twitter). I don't always catch when or where they will be operating. This is almost a good thing, the food is so good, but a real indulgence, I might not think to go there. When I do see them open you can hardly pass it up. You can't beat their generous catfish po'boy They do catfish right, then the spicy honey sauce makes it out of this world. The other specialty dishes have also been worth the cost, when they haven't sold out. Get there early when you have the chance.
This is a unique pop up shop in the heart of East Walnut hills that creates authentic and delicious New Orlean favorites !
It's a tradition for my friend and I to eat a crawfish boil on Fat Tuesday every year. This year we had one place tell us that they weren't in season, and...read this and 122 more
