How would you rate Welcome Inn Manor Bed & Breakfast?
I had the pleasure of staying at Welcome Inn Manor for several nights in the month of November. I was truly impressed by the level of comfort and hospitality during my stay. The innkeeper (Mel) was friendly and made me feel at home when I arrived. His commitment to making sure that guests have a great stay is what I loved most about Welcome Inn Manor. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast if you wish to stay in the area.
This is a phenomenal and wonderful B&B located on the south side of Chicago. We hosted my sister's wedding party here as well as stayed here for three days and we had a great time. The breakfast was fabulous and the decor was beautiful. The location is somewhat unusual - either be prepared to drive, or to use the conveniently located public transportation to head into the more traditional parts of Chicago tourism. I would highly recommend going here.
Complete satisfaction by the customer and exemplary customer service are the key elements displayed by the proprietors and staff at the Welcome Inn. The warm, welcoming atmosphere made my weekend with friends one I will never forget. My friends and I were completely comfortable and relaxed in this wonderful atmosphere. Barbecued on the deck and just sat around the house enjoying the ambiance and company of the other guests. Just like home! AND, within a very short drive to Lake Michigan and downtown Chicago. I have already recommended the Welcome Inn to several other friends and family. Moreover, their hospitality and ability to help you relax and enjoy the many facets of Chicago is second to none.
We rented the entire 3rd floor and enjoyed it immensely. Nicely decorated with great accents. And with the mini-bar and TV up there were quite comfortable.
From the marvelous home decorations and furnishings to the outstanding breakfast meals, I know that I will be back! BTW, if you want to do anything in Chicago just ask them for advice or recommendations, and you will be impressed with their knowledge.
I came to Chicago on business and stayed at Mell and Angie's Bed and Breakfast for five days. Mell always had a great breakfast and dropped me off in downtown exactly when I needed to be there. In the evening I would take the "L" back to their neighborhood where it was about a three block walk from the station. Next time I go back to Chicago I will certainly stay here again.
Welcome Inn Manor is a WONDERFUL place to stay! The accommodations were incredible, including a luxurious bed, Jacuzzi tub, spa-style shower, and historic decor. The location was perfect, nestled inside a historic neighborhood just a few miles away from all the downtown museums and attractions. Mell cooked a huge, incredible homemade breakfast each morning, according to guests' schedules, and offered complimentary shuttle service to downtown attractions. We really felt more like we were staying with old friends than at a B&B. My husband and I loved the personal feel of Welcome Inn Manor, and we would stay there again in a heartbeat if traveling to Chicago in the future.
Outstanding service from the inn keeper and staff. 5 stars across the board. Very close to the L (Green line stop at 47th Street). Food and friendlyness is top notch. Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Chicago for business or pleasure.
Welcome Inn Manor Bed & Breakfast was amazing! The owners are so so sweet! Very friendly and easy going people. The place was just as beautiful on the inside as the outside. My friends and I felt super comfortable while staying there & of course, the breakfast was delicous! The owners, maintenance guy (Jimmy) and hotel/house itself definitely helped make this vacation enjoyable. & we were also only 15 min from the city and they provided rides, which helped a lot. One of the best vacations so far and Welcome Inn Manor Bed and Breakfast made it that much better! Don't look elsewhere, book here!!
This is a cozy bed and breakfast with a nostalgic Bronzeville feel. Located near public transportation, you are 10 minutes from major attractions and President Obama's home.
I LOVEEEEEEEE this place. My first experience was this weekend for a retreat for my sorority. I stayed here a couple days and Id Absolutely recommend it to others. So clean so homely i cannot think of one bad thing to say. This place is a gem!
Amazing host and homey environment with lots of history.
I thought the manor inn was pretty cool and historic. However, I visited Chicago for medical purposes. I was about to go under a serious 7 hour operation. It says on their page that they give complimentary drop off service to the University of Chicago and other destinations. So we get up at 5 A.M to leave so the guy can take us to the hospital then says "oh you may want to download Uber while you're at the hospital waiting on your son". It's only a 7 minute drive away and they stated that they would provide a shuttle ride prior to our visit so my Mother can be with me during the day. My Mom and I get to our room and I did not even have a bed to sleep in... all that was prepared for me was a couch. I was not returning there after being discharged from the hospital to sleep on a couch before we take a flight back home. I would have never stayed there if I knew I was not going to receive a bed. Nice people but we were very misrepresented.
My husband and I stayed for four nights while I was in town for a conference. The house is a treasure, the food was delicious, the hosts are amazing and hospitable. We will be back the next time we come to Chicago.
Extraordinary place to stay. Well keep historic setting with a high quality staff that provides an unforgettable experience.
Mell, Angie and Jimmy are perfect hosts. This is my second 10 day stay at the Welcome Inn Manor and I couldn't ask for a better place to enjoy Chicago while visiting my daughter and son-in-law. The inn is gorgeous, the breakfasts homemade by Mell are an excellent way to start the day, and the beds are comfortable...what more could you ask for?
This place is Amazing!!! Mell and Angie were very nice. They make you feel welcomed and the atmosphere is so relaxing. Their were very attentive to our needs. The food was very good, something different every morning. The rooms are very detailed to the character of the house We Loved That!!!! We love original woodwork. Everything about this place was lovely. The art work and artefacts are breath taking. We enjoyed every moment and will be returning with more guest. As long as this place is around we will be here. No more hotels lol
This place was fantastic. The history and the atmosphere was amazing
Stay with them and feel like home -
I went to Chicago due to a business trip and stayed for 4 days at the Welcome In Manor B&B. Mell and Jimmy attended to all my needs, they were very attentive. I enjoyed the variety of breakfasts they offered and the free shuttle service in the morning to the convention center was something I appreciated. Mell knows many anecdotes and stories about the city and the neighbourhood.
Best place ever. The owner is wonderful and made you feel right at home.
Very quaint/historical place with an nostalgia of the late 1800's. Great food and hospitality.
Wonderful hosts, nice room, very accommodating.
Great place to stay, owners made amazing breakfast
We held a gathering a here. The attention to detail from space to food was top notch! Book your events, have a staycation, host your retreat or girlfriends gathering. It's an amazing home in a thriving community.
This place is elegant....especially the nat king cole suit.
This is a beautiful place with a kind and engaging proprietor, comfortable accomidations, and good company.
What a pleasure. Very welcoming and comfortable environment.
I was nervous about spending a week in a big city. I am so glad we stayed here
The owner and his son were very attentive. and put us at our ease. If you tell him in advance he will give you a ride downtown or anywhere close immediately after breakfast. There was free parking but we took ubers. The historic house was gorgeous, the whole place is covered in fabulous art, and the gardens were beautiful. The historic neighborhood was nice and safe. Our room was good sized with a big closet, bathroom. separate shower room and a tiny kitchenette.
I think the rooms on the top floor share a bathroom, maybe. We are planning on going back soon.
