How would you rate Hilton Garden Inn Chicago/Midway Airport?
Thank you for a nice stay! Neutrogena products in the bathroom and a keurig, fridge and microwave in the room included. Friendly staff and clean room/bathroom. The airport is super close and there are some restaurants within walking distance.
Nice, personnel made us feel at home
I stayed here during a recent business trip and the hotel is very clean and comfortable. Not much around the area. Definitely get a rental car and exlpore the city.
I went there for a night with the wife and kids and had a great time, the kids really enjoy the pool area the rooms was great very clean and service was excellent Manny very helpful
Hotel is clean
Close to the airport. Recently renovated. Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean. Lots of air traffic noise due to proximity to the airport. Nice business center and good WiFi.

Hotel was about five minutes from airport. Room was fine. Gave us free parking for Christmas.
No issues. Breakfast was delicious. They had a bottle of Laphraoig at the bar.
Nice hotel. If you are coming from the airport the shuttle can get full quickly because of all the hotels it services.
Was there in sept 2015 very clean loved the food but disappointed no Miller lite at bar but other wise than that the bed was so comfortable..

Nice hotel, friendly staff, well appointed room with fridge and microwave. Fast wifi. The airport is audible depending on your room and which runways they're using, but it's not bad. Nice workout room with machines and free weights.

Way to expensive to not have complimentary breakfast, and the breakfast was subpar so if you must eat there get milk and cereal... which was also expensive. Rooms were clean and a great bathroom. A lot of missed communication with the hotel. Our rooms weren't what we needed and we had to inquire why too many times, even though we had scheduled this 2 months in a advance. Rooms were good but the way we were downgraded to a one bed when we needed 2 beds unexpectedly because as i was told "we had gotten busy" like that was my problem in any way and then having to haggle was unnecessary. We weren't even offered money back, just kind of a shoulder shrug. Oh yeah, who has people pay for parking at your place too... al things considered i can definitely find a better deal all around.
I stayed here last week went to breakfast. My boyfriend and I were eating when two younger kids sat next to us. (No big deal right) went to the restroom came back now there are 5 guys. (No big deal) they ask if they can just get a side of bacon and they are told no they would need to pay for the whole buffet. So the boys get up and leave. As they are walking out an older woman from the restaurant. Who was clearing tables and taking orders approaches my boyfriend and I. She says and I quote, "Do you guys like those guys? I don't these guys aren't good guys.!" I'm actually in shock I don't say anything. My boyfriend I think is taken back a little but maybe not as much as me and he laughs her off. However she takes the laugh as a go on. And she says "ya know we have to protect our customers and those guys were just not good guys. They are not even guest here" Now my boyfriend and I are both mixed we have fair skin curly hair but we both have a black parent 😑. I'm pretty sure the complexion of our skin made her feel like she could come over and say that and maybe we would agree. However it made myself and my boyfriend VERY uncomfortable to stay. Those boys never were disrespectful to her never said anything offensive. They all had on clean clothes and 2 of the 5 boys actually were guest at the hotel because I kept seeing them. The only exchange of conversation was the price for a side order of bacon. We were there for 4 days that happen the first morning. I didn't tip that lady she actually told me I could leave her a tip but I kept walking on her we normally tip great. But I refused to tip someone who would generalize a group of KIDS(16 and younger) as not being good guys. But the Hilton employed her and therefore I would never go back to any Hilton. Complete waste of money ! And if someone reads this from Hilton it was an older Hispanic lady with a ponytail..
Walked into our room and there is a mini fridge with a microwave on top in the middle of the room plugged in to a powerstrip. As a Bluecard member - if I'm paying close to $200 a night I expect my room to look nice. Not trashy. This is ridiculous. Wish I could post the picture on here.
RRoms are nice. Keurig coffee makers in every room which is awesome. Only downside is the noise from the trainyard.
The lobby was very welcoming and modern. The room was large and clean. The pool was average. The pool room was too cold. The deck was very slippery around the pool.
Efficient front desk, comfortable quiet rooms. Bring something to keep heavy curtain closed the outside light is bright. Breakfast is excellent just allow enough time.

Was not informed that breakfast was not complimentary, the waitress only charged us for one meal to make up for that. Otherwise was a nice hotel.

After a flight debacle this hotel was more than accommodating! They have me a razor, shaving cream, tooth brush, toothpaste, as deodorant! The service was just awesome! Plus the room was clean and comfortable
This was a great hotel with a great view. Loved the room and accommodations. However we were disappointed with breakfast. It was not included in the price of the room, which is fine, yet there were no signs up in the breakfast area alerting guests that this was not covered. We, as well as several other guests, were unaware of this. Many guests seemed trapped after they had begun eating because no one and no sign told them so. No one mentioned this to us at check in. In fact, we found out the price of the buffet after listening to a nearby table. Although this is sometimes common for many hotels, it still feels a little shady and deceitful. Most Americans are used to a "continental" breakfast and assume that it is included, regardless of the fine print. It would be better to advertise breakfast upfront with the price included than to seemingly try to trick your guests into eating, then asking them to pay.
Rooms are clean, nice, and comfortable. Shuttle available to get to Midway Airport. Free cookies in the lobby when we checked in. Be aware that it is behind a bunch of other hotels in the area. It isn't visible from the main road.
Good location, relative to MDW. Front desk and all other staff were friendly and courteous. Good breakfast and other dining options nearby. Free 24-hour Midway shuttle bus.
It's a good hotel in a hotel mill block of places. The hotel van situation sucks for the hotels here. Drivers not responsive and you're better off taking alternative transportation. Other than that it's a good place.
Very nice hotel. One of the better garden inns. Close to myself obviously. Good sized rooms. Nice bathrooms. Bar could be bigger but bar stead very attentive.
This was a great hotel. Extremely clean linen and carpet, odor free, with complementary refreshments and wine. I was extremely impressed. My family wanted to do a stay -cation to celebrate my sister's birthday and this was the perfect location with a pool.
Checking was effecient but not friendly. Room was fine. Breakfast was $12 instead of the usual free. Wouldn't have stayed there if I weren't stranded overnight at Midway
Charge you 20 bucks to park, pillows are bad, tv is bad, overpriced. Not bad for a one night stay, however the area stinks like literally smells bad.
This hotel seems fairly new. The room was nice and spacious and of course clean. It had a mini fridge, a microwave, a coffeemaker a desk, and various nice furnishings for said appliances as well as the TV. There was also a chair with an ottoman. The hotel also has a noise curfew which can be invoked if the room next door is too rowdy. The on hotel restaurant was pretty complete as a hybrid of buffet and made-to-order, which is primarily highlighted for omelettes.
Nice place to stay near airport with on call shuttle. Does not have a hot tub. Also, fitness room is not 24 hour. Got a good night sleep. Didn't eat breakfast since it would cost $12. Used hot wire app to get a room here.
Room was clean and spacious. The Hotel complex was a little difficult to navigate to actually find the hotel, but that isn't the fault of the Hilton. Staff was extremely friendly. Walls seemed a little thin, however our neighbors were a room full of unattended children that we're yelling and screaming and bouncing off the walls until 1am, so I'm not sure it was the insulation level of the walls, or the decibel level of the neighbors that was the issue.
Clean. Quiet. Cheap. Plus free cookies and lemonade and coffee at the entrance. Pool looks not great, but nice outdoor seating. The restaurant/bar is convenient and not bad.
Uses a 24hr shuttle to the airport, but call to see when it arrives if getting in at odd hours.
Nice hotel. Nice work out facilities. Nice rooms. Breakfast was very busy, but never got waited on or asked for a coffee refill. Had to get my own eggs, bacon and coffee. 5 stars other than that....
No complaints. Room ok. One of few suites in area. Parking plentiful. Starbucks nearby. Staff merely useful. Food mediocre but plentiful.
Location for south side staging is perfect.

As always HGI is consistent. Friendly staff, clean room. Gym was good. Had the salmon for dinner at the restaurant and it was delicious
WE HAD FUN THEIR EVERYDAY..BUT THEN THERE WAS SOMETHING BLIND WHEN ALL THE MUSIC HIT ACROSS OUR FACE THAT'S WHEN SHE RUSHED OUT OF THE ROOM AND THEIR WAS A HELL OF A FIGHT NIGHT.
A few of us stayed overnight one night for a layover. The staff was very hospitable and accommodating. I would happily stay again.

Staff was nice but as far as amenities, it was lacking for the price. Im not used to having hotels actually charge premium price for breakfast as well. The bed was too hard for me, but they have great Neutrogena bath products. Overall, it was ok.
I had a very bad experience with this hotel. I was trying to reach a guest, I called and I ask to be connected to the room. Some weird lady answered and was asking me all kinds of strange questions. What do I need in the room why im calling and my last name . I refuse to deal with this interogation and I am simply reporting her outrageous behavior to the top management. She needs to be fired.
Customer service could be improved. When checking in to my room the lady didn't even make eye contact and asked what I needed. The bed was comfortable and the room size was great. I could hardly hear any of the neighbors, a toilet flush here and there. The shower was a great size compared to another hotel I stayed at the previous night. 11.95 breakfast is a bit pricey if you don't eat much so I suggest going out for coffee and a bagel if that's all you eat in the morning. Overall great place to stay compared to other hotels!
We had been moved to Garden Inn after an awful experience at a different hotel. We arrived in the early evening, our room was ready and the staff was very attentive. The room itself was exceptionally clean, comfy bed, decent towels. The shuttle and access to MDW is super easy. We spent 2 days in downtown Chicago via the orange line, which the staff also helped us with. Once we checked out, the happily held our bags until our flight.
Only negatives, the breakfast was average and the tub/shower was kind of small.
For an average 3-star hotel, this one definitely goes above and beyond. Especially the staff.

It's a great hotel with quick access to the airport and free parking. The staff are friendly and helpful. Watch out if you are flying in as the buses are picking up in departures due to construction but there are no signs.
Staff very friendly and have excellent customer service skills! Food and drinks are good. Hotel location is a bit far from shops. But right infront of the MDW airport, shuttle bus is available!
Hot breakfast,The front desk clerk Nokia was extremely helpful make sure we had everything that we needed it was a group of six of us she went out of her way.
I would like to say thank you for such a wonderful stay! Everything from checking in the hotel with Gismerait Hernandez assisting us, making sure we were absolutely happy was such excellent customer service. She had such a nice smile and we really felt welcomed. Breakfast was absolutely perfect!! Good job Hilton staff and thank you!!
Staff was very nice on Saturday. Thank you Paris for being so kind to us. We arrived at the hotel and were treated very kind on Saturday. We were suppose to have gotten an AARP discount. That did not happen (we found out on Sunday) We were also told on Saturday afternoon that our Sunday breakfast was going to be complimentary.
Also the receptionist at the front desk was very snotty to say the least on Sunday. She also locked us out of our room and said that our credit card did not work. I had a handicapped daughter in the room at the time. She finally gave us another card so that we could get back in.( Well, why did the card work on Saturday?).
The lines of communication need to be open at all times between shifts.
Hard to rate a hotel under renovation. My room just seemed a little older and not fresh. Everything was fine but nothing seemed great. Don't get me wrong, I would stay there again.
Average hotel. Front desk staff were friendly but the staff who handled the dining certainly we're not. We had a group of 75 with us and they still didn't treat us well. I think ownership needs to think about who they have in charge and how they treat there guest.
Also found a few bugs in our room. Not pleasant at all. They also decided to repave the whole complex on a Friday and Saturday when most guests are at the hotel. Didn't make much sense and was definitely an inconvenience.
Really nice property. Centrally located great amenities and less than 10 minutes from the airport. Oh, and super friendly staff.

Very conveniently located to Chicago/Midway airport. Less than 10 minute drive. Shuttles available. Several options available for dining within walking distance. Very clean and well maintained. Buffet style breakfast with made to order selections daily for $11.95 per person. Overall, I was pleased and would stay again.
This hotel has good rooms and good beds. The pillows leave something to be desired. It's right next to the airport which is great for me but maybe not those looking for a weekend getaway. Breakfast is always good at a garden inn however it is not free. I always stay here when flying out of MDW.
Convenient location to midway airport. Basic Hilton garden layout with a decent amount of amenities. Superb king suite rooms!
Only stayed two nights and not much time in the room but bed was nice and room was spacious. Employees were all very nice. No complaints
Unbelievably terrible customer service. Needed assistance with coffee creamer gone bad ruining both Kcup coffees in my room. No one could bring new coffees or fresh creamers to my room. For over $200.00 a night, you would think they could provide better service
10 minutes from Chicago Midway Airport and shuttles run every 15 to 20 minutes intervals. Rooms are clean and beds are comfy. Quiet rooms considering close proximity to the airport. Good sized room and 2 queen beds are available for family of four. Not so fancy but for overnight guests with car looking for few nights near Chicago downtown area is an ideal hotel as property have ample free parking spaces. Inexpensive breakfast buffet has cook to order from the kitchen hot items and has other pastry varieties at the bar. Reasonable room rates worthy of returning.
Hotel is very nice but the rooms come with 2 beds and do not allow roll aways which makes staying with a family of 5 tough
We stayed here for the Park and Fly option and I'm Hilton diamond. Rooms are standard HGI. Pool was clean but no hot tub. Standard HGI fitness center with a couple cardio, dumbbells, bench and multi strength unit breakfast was fine but they started breaking it down at 9:58. Clean. Best part is that the shuttle runs every 15-20. If you arrive after 10pm at the airport, you need to call. It's one bus for all the hotels in the complex but outs still quick. The shuttle picks up on the upper level of the airport. Two escalator rides up from baggage claim go out 2UL door--the UL is important.
No problems. Convenient to Midway Airport and many local industries. Comfortable room with great climate control. Shower had great pressure and drain.

Rooms are decent. They charge for parking FYI. I thought was expensive for an airport hotel. That is only reason 3 star, but wouldn’t say anything bad if just want to have a nice place to sleep.
When checking in I asked if I could pay cash for my parking .With money in my hand ,I was informed that I could pay at check out . However an hour later the funds were added tomy credit card without my consent. When I inquired I was told it was a bank hold and it would be 3 to 4 business day before it would be returned if I still wanted to pay cash . This was an unauthorized purchase.
I always try and stay at the Hilton Gardens, no matter where I travel. Fantastic hotels in and around the Chicagoland area! Thanks for getting me a nice quiet room near Midway!!
Watch out! The price may look good, but then you need to pay $20 per night to park your car. Breakfast is NOT included. It is an additional $13.00. The chair has stains. There are 10 hotels in one square block surrounded by a 6 foot gate. Look around.
As always, Hilton finds a way to nickel and dime you to death. Watch out for the extra charge to park your car. $17.00 plus $2.50 tax. This is somehow justified because the can’t control their parking near a airport. I don’t understand why they needed to charge this fee. Greedy stinkers. Last time I’ll stay here.
I had 2 rooms, one I checked in Friday and then the other Saturday and both days the front desk staff were rude and unfriendly, any questions I had they were short with me. Makes me not want to stay again. I have stayed at Marriott right next to this hotel and loved it the desk staff were very welcoming and friendly.
The facility isn't bad,customer service is good. However my complaint is about the parking, "incidental" fee and they don't take cash. It's $17 per night to park which I feel it's ridiculous to charge customers for parking on a motel type set up. Through all of my hotel experiences including the Hilton - in areas such as this or in the suburbs (away from the city), parking is always free, but not here, very disappointing. Also there's a $150 incidental charge. I've never paid more than $75 at the best(high-end) hotels.
Great first impression when you walk in. Carried forward by clean and tidy rooms, well laid out design, and quality staff. The hotel bar has drinks that are not too overpriced so that's good. Has an indoor pool, and a great outdoor sitting area.
Nice location with a prompt shuttle. Staff seems to be attentive. It's a typical Garden inn. Decent pizza within walking distance. Full bar in lobby. Dunkin Donuts, white Castle, and a few other fast food spots within 3 blocks. First shuttle out is like 5 am
1st visit was actually impressed with the set up and all things offered. Check-in went smoother than usual so that was a check ➕! 😊 Many nice restaurants, stores and helpful staff 👍👌
The rooms are nice. Housing right into the pillows. Coupled with Chicago pizza it's near perfect.

My flight was cancelled due to the weather in Chicago. Last minute reseveration made at the Hilton Garden Inn Airport, Cierra has exceptional customer service skills, she was amazing I really appreciated how patient she was. My room was very clean, bed was comfortable. I had a great night rest! Looking forward to visiting another Hilton Hotel real soon.😀
Close to the airport and nice staff. The rooms are old and outdated. The fitness center is very limited and outdated as well.

I liked this place for many reasons. The staff is very friendly and helpful, also knowledgeable in their trade. The breakfast buffet is top notch and well worth the price. Accommodations are clean and up to date. There is no real negatives, except for the one elevator...there are two, but just one is functioning and the running joke with fellow guests were how slow the elevator was. Made for humorous conversations in the elevator. Besides the latter, great stay and well recommended.
Guest accommodations cannot afford to have a broken elevator for a week or more. This is further heightened when the only other elevator fails also. It was a great discomfort and inconvenience to descend five flights with a spinal issue.
This is my second visit to this property this year and there was a broken elevator the first time also.
The management needs to be more reactive to such a major inconvenience for guests. One working elevator for approximately 170 guest rooms is not sufficient. Time to spend some money to deal with the problem.
I will not stay here again.
I haven't even mentioned the breakfast service.
The rooms were fine and the staff were good. One of my coworkers did not have WiFi in her room. After talking to their IT, she was finally told by staff that “some rooms do not have a WiFi signal.” They were very kind and re-accommodated her to another room, but how is that possible at a mature property that’s been around a while?
Given our group is debating staying with Hilton or switching to Marriott properties, this experience in the context of a business traveler does not help the hhonors’ cause.

This is a very nice Hilton property close to Midway Airport. Excellent area with great dining options. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Hotel was nice and clean. Wasn't happy with how it doesn't say on the booking site that they charge you $30 to park your car at the hotel while you sleep there. Also they told me a $50 deposit, but they held $100 instead. Was also disappointed they didn't have breakfast included but if you want the buffet it's $13.50 a person. I've been to 4 of the other hotels right in that circle and I'll choose one of them again before I'd come back to this one. It's clean but not worth the money
Everything was nice except for the parking fee. $18 plus a 3.99 tax for 1 night? I ended up just taking my rental car back at 10 PM and catching the shuttle back to the hotel, I refuse to pay such an outrageous charge.

TV was not available when we first checked in. Got it reset. 1 hour later it was out again.
Refrigerator in the room did not work. We thought it was working and out perishable food in it but in the morning it was not cold at all.
Management offered “points” instead of a cash discount.

Clean rooms and great staff
Management gave me 10,000 Hilton points but you need 20,000 points per night to stay here. I was then transferred to another room that the supervisor inspected and to her credit it was very clean. But after the supervisor left I realized the AC was busted and made a terribly loud sound while operating, as well as the refrigerator.
So I’m up at 2:30AM writing this and looking for different hotels.
Nobody but the staff wears masks here and with it advertising COVID-19 first responder rooms that seems horribly irresponsible.
There were used tissues under my bed as well as some other junk left by a previous guest.
One of my towels had weird stains on it as well as some long hair so I assume nobody even cleaned my room.
This place is absolutely disgusting.
Man, like everyone says, it's an airport that isn't in the best weather location. Chicago can get pretty bad and flights were getting delayed a lot. Ours...read this and 3101 more
