How would you rate Gallery Guichard?
Gallery Guichard is the premier art gallery for African American and Black Art. The gallery is owned and run by Andre Guichard and Frances Guichard who are husband and wife. The Famous Andre Guichard is available by appointment only.
I finally went to visit the new location of Gallery Guichard. It was formerly located at 35th & King Dr. It has moved to 47th & Vincennes which one block east of King Drive. The new gallery is spacious. I had to just sit on one of their comfy sofa and take it all in. You can meander there admiring art and still not see everything. Andre and his wife Frances have truly uplifted Bronzeville with inspirational art center.
One of Chicago's hidden gems, this multilevel art gallery is a must for visiting and local art collectors alike.
Often the host of lively social events like their annual White Linen night in late summer, it is the home of the best art of the diaspora in Chicago, if not the U.S.
I've been here for the Bombay Sapphire art contests and it was pretty cool. For larger events, it can be cramped but the space is nice and divided over multiple floors.
The art is very nice. The space is very nice. I've been to both public and private events here. Very nice space to rent and hold fly events.
It was great to see the local artists being supported here. There was a wonderful array of black art styles that were inspiring. And as an Native /Black/American Artist, that's a resident in the bronzville area I can walk for blocks and be there so wonderful. Keep up the great work gallery guichard.
Ti-Rock , a white woman artist for New Orleans is displaying a three dimensional image of Mike Browns Body. Andre Guichard and the artist are praised as courageous for this non artistic lifesized diorama. I hear folks here in Ferguson say this is disrespectful and for this to be about "conversations" and "healing" are horrifically misguided. Is there time for you to reconsider this exhibit? #shutitdown #really Ms Leslie, who remains unnamed as Mike Brown's Mother, is expected to see this? Please take a look at white supremacy is and see if your co-opting of this artistic "opportunity" fits under any semblance of appropriate behavior. I realize the Guichards are Black. #whitesupremacy ensares all of us in a system, a system where it is ok for a white woman to attempt to lead conversations on matters that she cannot possibly speak authentically, think Rachel Dolezol most recently. #erasure and disrespect of the black experience fall under this supremacy
Amazing collection of work from resident artist, although a temporary exhibit brought me to Gallery Guichard. A gem nestled right in Bronzeville.
Wonderful art work. Very nice settings for art and knowledgeable staff.
Beautiful artwork and the Guichard's are a lovely couple. Great atmosphere for a party.
Shala's Solar Pyramid is incredible.
Great place to explore and discover new artists and works.
Excellent powerful & provacative art.
This gallery is truly a hidden gem on the south side of Chicago. It has a great atmosphere and beautiful mind invoking artwork. My visits have always left me inspired.
To the writer of the one bad review I see here, I must say. Do some research on Ti-Rock and her accomplishments, Go read her statement.
I applaud her. She stands for unity between the races.
If you're not part of the solution...
Good place for art exhibition, with great compilation of art works. Perfect place for party! Nappi hour was lit
NIU alum with fantastic art in the heart of Bronzeville. African American small business entrepreneur.
The art displayed is wonderful. The place is designed well.
This gallery is amazing. The pieces are so beautiful and it's a wonderful venue for events.
Some of the most beautiful artistry by great artists and a wondrous ambiance that's available to rent for parties and private events!
One the best local galleries in Chicago! Great experience in a historic community.
Wow! Very nice art work displayed...
We came here to celebrate a sister having a cd release party! The actual venue was small but full of energy and beautiful artwork. The party was held on their rooftop, it's only 2 stories so it's not to bad for the people afraid of heights. You do have to get buzzed in and be quick enough to open both doors or at least make sure you have another person with you. I definitely suggest people visit this gallery and that they have more events to bring more attention to this stunning atmosphere of a place. Lastly but not least, Analogsoul was beautiful, amazingly phenomenal and did a fantastic show!
What can I say. It is a jewel in the heart of Bronzeville. They feature not only prestigious artists, they also showcase locals. And have the best urban fare at their events. DJ included. Its small, effecient and classy.
I like the gallery I have been there a few times now. Connect to their website for events free and paid. They both are great.i also like and love the concept of living space above the gallery for artist.but the floors in the above apts are not suited for a working artist. They are too nice.
A very beautiful art gallery I spoke with the owner very nice person a great place to throw any type of event
Took my Boo Thang to see "Nigerian Connection" and had an amazing time! The artwork and hospitality is always on point!

The area is benefiting from the Gallery Guichard being there.

Great show today featuring Charity White! Super nice conversation with Frances Guichard!
Very nice and comfortable, the pantings were amazing.Nice venue for a party.
One of my favorite Bronzeville spots! Supporting local talent in a nicely crafted space is a win-win. You can also host private events here in which the ambience makes for the perfect setting for those laced with class.
Great black owned venue. I've attended a few events here. Very spacious and showcasing some of the best African American artists the city has to offer. The location is a great choice in the sense that it makes art and the art community easily accessible to the south side residents ; an effort to be more inclusive.
Great gallery, my Daughters K.Si'mone's art was in the Gallery DST event
Great place to take your spouse very lovely art work will come again!
Amazing art. I love Andre the owner. He is unbelievable as far as community organization and giving back to the community and community involvement. There is also an outside space that you really have to see to believe.it is definitely worth the trip down to 47th Street
