How would you rate BB's Jazz Blues & Soups?
Home made bread. Six varieties of bbq. Laid back, cool-and-the-gang ambiance, live blues, fantastic staff! Add it all up... Get bbq here, you will pee your pants and go back in time!
Best Music, fun venue! Great Food! What can I say? This place reminds me of the old bars in Germany or France... it has that kind of a flair to it! Shot gun style, its walls steeping with good blues and jazz music, all made right here in St. Louis! The food is simply awesome, and freshly made every time, and the ambiance is family-and-friends.
I think the three $ sign label is too high. I'd say, it should be labeled $$ instead.
Lots of choices on drinks, too! One of the good, almost still a secret, places to explore, just down the street from the baseball stadium.
Super unfriendly to large groups. You'd think they'd be happy to have the business and be accommodating. However, they will bring you one big check and ask you to figure out who had how many cocktails and which entrée and appetizer.
So this was my first time in st Louis and we had a chance to eat at bb'jazz blues soup place food was great.. the fried grits where great very different.. full bellys now a waiting band to come on.
terrific jazz/blues ambience, friendly service, good food, and most of all GREAT MUSIC
This place is everything you want in a jazz bar. Great band and two ladies with the most soulful voices. The bar was clean. The food was good and the staff was friendly. Will be back!!
first time here, food was very good especially the andouille & cabbage soup. ribs were excellent finished with delicious pecan pie and sweet potato pie. Did not know there was a $10 cover charge but live blues was worth it.
BB's was recommended by our hotel and once we got there we knew why. We had a great experience listening to live music, enjoying great food (especially the ribs), great environment, great service, etc. just an all around A++++ experience.
Great food. Music is authentic. Staff very nice. Guests friendly.
This is the best we are haveing fun
Great atmosphere to see live music. Fun, friendly crowd. Good beer selection.
The atmosphere was nice. Small venue with a down home feel. My negative review comes solely based upon the food. I had the gumbo and my wife had the catfish. Neither had any seasoning or taste what so ever. I was shocked. Stunned even. The reviews I read prior to going said the food was wonderful. Gumbo has about 4 or 5 different meats and somehow I couldn't taste anything. I figured it was just my food so I tried my wife's fish. The same! Hopefully the real cooks had the night off and this is not the norm. Sorry to say, we won't be back.
Red beans and rice is spot on. And the service was spectacular. A must visit when in STL.
This place has a great vibe. It isn't grungy, but it's not uptight, either. It's just chill. The music is great and the drinks are affordable.
Great BBQ! Friendly staff and some good jazz music. Not over-priced and welcoming atmosphere!
Bad service. Bad food. Used to be great. Won't go back.
In town for a funeral and the night before family, friends, wife and I came to see LOVE JONES and they had the place rock'n. Had a great time.
Great Blues club. Small and personal. Nice laid back atmosphere.
Great music, delicious food.
Real diamond this one is. Great atmosphere for entertainment and eating. A local favorite of mine and worth the trip.
The MENU is simple but my tilipia special was cooked superbly and my boyfriend really enjoyed his medwell bacon provolone burger. Fries are NOT INCLUDED but the half portion for 3.50 was big enough for three people to share. The MUSIC was great and the crowd is mature. There is a COVER CHARGE which i feel you should be refunded if you order food. The SEATING is definitely not the best and to find seats for dinner may be very difficult on a Friday night. The SERVICE was great but they are definitely busy and one would undoubtedly need to utilize some PATIENCE.
One of the few true, authentic blues bars with a history to back up the BB's part if its name. Bluesy old school atmosphere, nice bartender. Great live music venue, awesome drink selection, and good food to boot.
Extremley expensive and the food wasnt that good. Not bad but i could have went somewhere cheaper for a better burger. Service was fine though
Live music, great food at reasonable rates, and plenty of parking near by. The ribs were done well and had a nice smokey flavor.
Love taking my girl out to a delicious southern meal and great live blues! This place is the best! Live entertainment every evening and the kitchen is open late! Take your sweetheart and or some friends and live it up!
The food is only okay, but what a great place to hear some local blues music!
Fun place with good liquor selection. Live music most nights.
Known for their soup and live blues/jazz music 7 days a week, this place is a don't miss. The ribs here are great. There is table service, but on a Wednesday night, the bartender is also the waiter, so be patient and kind.
Check the photos on the walls, its a blues history museum. Don't forget the upstairs bathroom
The atmosphere and the music were cool; however, the service was less than desirable. It was a struggle to get waited on and the staff was not particularly friendly or helpful. I honestly feel they were very understaffed.
Music was ok. Service sucked donkey balls. Took almost 45 mins to be served. .dont go here
Bad services. Food is terrible. Waitresses expect tips for nothing. Zero security from the trash that comes in. Will never return to this dump again
Awesome atmosphere! Best live blues I've heard since New Orleans! ♡
Great food and music ! One of my favorite off the path places to go !
The music and environment are fantastic. The food is good (best hush puppies ever). However the service is really going down hill. I have visited several times and the moment it starts getting busy good luck getting any service but especially friendly service. I may not go as much now because last night was worst service I had yet (with attitude). As a former waitress I appreciate the increase in stress levels; but if you openly communicate to your customers and at least act like you want to be there it will makeup for a better experience for all.
Nice place to go listen to live music and have a bite to eat. The parking is difficult but the entertainment is good. Nice bar selection with a friendly staff.
I have gone to this club several times when I am in St. Louis and I am never disappointed. It's got a great old time feel and it is right across the street from Busch Stadium, so I can go check out a Cardinals game then walk right to the club. The level of talent that plays here is top notch, and I would say rivals Nashville. I went 2 straight nights on my last visit and both bands were fantastic. I don't know about the food because I've never eaten there, but if you're going there for the music, you found the right place.
Always has the best live blues any night of the week! If you're hungry try the salmon chowder. And substitute fried for the chips.
Loved this place! Great music, great drinks. Good drink specials. Varied selections of beer. We had no issues getting drinks even though they were busy. The crowd was easy going also. All different people of all ages.
Best blues and jazz in town. Great food, great staff, great drinks... provably my favorite bar in the city.
Had the red beans and rice which was really good. Great beer specials! Good live music too.
The service was great. The live music was on point. I came to see the Vinnis Bryant Experience. It's awesome that you still have venues that let you come and see live music up close and personal.
Come here for live music, and not expect good food or service. GREAT BLUES!!!
Baby back rib basket with St.Louis fries was bit too smoky, chicken wings didn't match my taste.
SIX stars for music, and two stars for the food.
There were 8 of us out for a girls night. The oyster bar was over an hour wait. So we walked down here. It was a 5 dollar cover so we weren't thrilled but the music ended up being good. The lady at the front said there was a table for all 8 of us. We'll the table only had 6 chairs but we made it work. Then a waitress came over and got attitude saying we are sitting at a table reserved for 6. We had no clue and already ordered drinks. Then she was like well your already sitting here and left. The waiter who took our drink order had a little better attitude about it but not much. The place was super busy. We were there almost 2 hours! I only was able to get a glass of wine. My burger was good but the sweet potato fries are gross, the reg fries were better. The cheese grits were yummy too. Prices weren't bad they're just unorganized
Great, attentive staff, and friendly patrons. The live blues band was awesome... I wish I could remember what they are called, but I bet this place gets a lot of cool bands. I really felt like I was experiencing the soul of the St. Louis music scene. Come for the ribs and beer, stay for the blues.
Great find in the heart of St. Louis next to Busch Stadium. Good food, reasonably priced, including fresh bar-b-que ribs, pulled pork, & chicken. Live music in an authentic R&B venue is icing on the cake.
We came here from out of town (Alabama) and expected more. First, there was a 5 dollar cover charge. The older lady at the front was sweet, but figured a cover charge before 10pm was a bit early. The balcony area had a nice view though. I ordered a glass of Malbec (red wine). It tasted old (and not in a good way). The did not have coasters or small square napkins to place under the glass. The menus had coffee stains all over it and looked/felt super dirty. It was difficult to breathe in there. I don't think they have good ventilation. My mother's allergies started kicking up the way it does when she is around mold. We were told that the main jazz artist would be on stage at 10pm. We left at 1015 because he was still not there. I would not recommend this place. Go to that place across the street- better ventilation and better music.
The place was empty when we rolled in on a Monday night, but man did it light up with live music. Solid local beer selection, good appetizers, and great dessert. Nice way to experience the nightlife music of St. Louis.
This was my first experience with a jazz bar but this 1 experience made me want to find more jazz bars. We sat at the bar on the 2nd level and I would say had one of the best experiences in a bar ever. This is the place to go for a good time. They have great blues and jazz players from all over that come thru and play. The band that was there that night really put their hearts into it and made me get out of my chair and want to dance multiple times. I recommend this place for sure!
Great blues club with a steady stream of local & national acts. I love💕 the food! Make a night of it & cruise between the other 2 blues clubs, one directly across the street and another down the block. At times it can be hard to decide which one to go to as they are all great places with great music and great food!
I love this place! They always have the best live music. You gotta catch The Love Jones Band on Sunday nights!!!! (Fantastic) Great Veggie burgers & sweet potato fries, and the drinks aren't too pricey.
I was told about BB's by some people at my hotel and was excited to try it. But sadly I was disappointed. I ordered the 5 bone rib basket and I have to say they were horrible!!! I have never had ribs that had NOOOO flavor what so ever!!! Even the BBQ sauce couldn't help those ribs😲😞.
But I gave it 3 stars because the service at the bar was great and the band playing was awesome!!! I will come back when in the Lou again and will stick with the soup!!!
Our group enjoyed the music and the food. The ribs were meaty, tender and perfectly seasoned. The BBQ sauce was delicious. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. This place is worth checking out.
This was my first time here and I wasn't let down a bit. Food was amazing, band was incredible. Will be returning more often hopefully.
I come here every time I am in town.. love this place and the people that work here. Good food and music variety. Small place with classic blues bar feel.
Great live music venue (5$ cover charge in cash upon entry) with drinks and food at very reasonable prices. Ribs were super juicy and tasty. We came back the next evening as we enjoyed the athmosphere that much.
Unfortunately I have to substract one star as the volume was way too loud for the size of this place on our first visit. Parts of our group had to leave early as they felt it actually painful, even though they liked the music itself.
BB's is one of the coolest bars I've ever been in..probably one of the coolest bars in St Louis. I haven't been to all of the bars in St Louis..but when I have been in them all I will update this and let you know what I found. Wait right here!
The music here is always great, they make the drinks very tall and very strong, and the food is perfection. If you want to fully enjoy the live music, I'd recommend trying to grab a table in front of the stage or on the balcony.
Great music, amazing band selections, average food and minimum choice of soups. Great to celebrate and to dance. We were in group of 6, stayed for about 3 hrs and left with the same impression - too unpleasantly loud compared to other venues. Perfect venue if you enjoy very loud music, and seats towards the back or center are slightly better.
Joe Metzka and his band of All STARS showed amazing LIVE Blues entertainment. Thanks for sharing ALL of your musical talents. Enjoyed the evening at BB's. Appreciate you as well John May!
Great place for live music, drinks, and food. The menu was nothing special, but it was good and reasonably priced. The service was OK, and the music was great. The decor and atmosphere makes this relatively small venue feel grander. Some may feel like they're walking into the "wrong side of town" when they cross under the overpass to get here, but I saw nothing to make me uncomfortable walking to and from here from downtown; and the establishment itself was as "classy" as any blues bar can be. It's a very short walk from Busch stadium.
If a live jazz dive bar with homemade soups daily is what you're looking for, you're in luck. Seems a strange combination, but believe me it works. Great live jazz, St. Louis style, nightly, I think. And fresh, housemade soups are the opening act you actually want to hear. Bartender was friendly and helpful. Location is dicey, but fun dicey, not scary dicey. Big lot for a grocery store across the street offers plenty of parking. Definitely worth checking out while in St. Louis.
Visiting St. Louis. Wanted to hear live music, eat decent food, and have a good drink. The music was ok (short set, but we came in during the set so it may have been much longer). The food was questionable. I ordered catfish nuggets and my friend ordered honey bbq wings. They came out in 2.2 minuets. Never saw such fast fish and chicken. The chicken wings are HUGE- seriously prehistoric , which always raises my eyebrow. The fish wasn’t bad and I they pour a good drink. But the crowd was a little dry and unfriendly. Plus there was a $10.00 cover charge just to come in and spend more money. Probably won’t come back but don’t regret going.
Do not get the red beans and rice. Bland, unseasoned, chunks of tomato and beans put together. Ick.
Burger was great! Love the fries. Not sure what they meant by the fried grits appetizer, it is dry and not flavorful.
Home of jazz and blues, this venue is fantastic! Staff was very accommodating to guests and allowed us to look around at our leisure at the history of St. Louis and the music created. Very clean and well maintained. Includes two large bars, one on each floor, outside tables and seats on main level and upstairs balcony, along with ample seating and tables by the stage.
The staff at BB’s we’re extremely nice and the food was amazing! The band that was playing got the audience very involved, making them go to the stage and play or sing with them. The atmosphere is indescribable, but overall amazing.
Nice quaint venue. Good food live music. Food came out quickly. Great time
Went for dessert and coffee. Both outstanding. Great ambience!!! Nice music. A must when spending time in downtown St. Louis.
Our food was quick and tasty the music wAs GREAT ! The drinks were strong but poured right .
Both the bRtender and server took great care of us and everyone was in great spirits in the place even after a Cardinals loss people laughing and dancing to the blues played properly!
Great music club with ok food. The walls of this bar just drip with the essence of blues and jazz. pictures of legends on the wall along with the not so legendary but all great! Check out the art in the upstairs bathroom. Tom Hall had the opening for the evening. Enjoyed his solo blues numbers until about 9:30. At 10 Skeet Roger's "New Inner City Blues Band" opened for the evening headliner. This band was tight, together and a joy to listen to. After a couple of warm up songs Skeet joined the band and just sang the blues. A wonderful, very entertaining evening.
Live music seems to be scheduled every evening, great spot, don't miss it!
Literally the best place for Blues in town! Been around since 1976 and near Busch Stadium among couple of other blues bars, this place never fails to provide good times and good drinks! Not to forget to mention their soups and food- especially the lobster bisque is amazing!
Always a place to visit when in town!
Not really prepared for groups, and our server seemed pretty pissed he was asked to split checks. However, food was great and loved the music. Would definitely go back!
Great spot for music lovers!!! Enjoyable night out! The only downside is that the space is a little on the small side.
We went to BB's to celebrate my birthday. Got there at 7pm cover charge was $5 each. They stamp you so you can come and go as you please. My husband ordered the bacon cheeseburger and I had the red beans & rice with cornbread. It was such a large portion that I only ate half. The music was pretty good but when we stepped outside we realized the music across the street was a lot better. Overall it was a good night and the service was good and fast. The only downside was that our table was by the bathroom.
Great ribs and menu. Our second time here, music is live and great. Always enjoyable
Best mushroom swiss burger ever. Great music bartenders.( Up stairs) are not the best, I really enjoyed my evening.
Great place to hang with friends the atmosphere is wonderful! Great food good live music!
The atomphere was nice...the band was awesome...However the service SUCKED...We ordered chicken wings, side salad, ribs, gumbo soup and sweet potato pie....We have been here almost 2 hours and was served only some luke warm chicken wings....the rest of the order has yet to appear!!! 😠😡🤬
B.b's jazz blues and soup rocks all the time. Best Long island ice tea in Stl.Great bands and great for great atmosphere.
This is my number one place for live music---and has been for the last forty years. The food is outstanding. Go to BB's if you want an authentic St. Louis experience.
Interesting building. They have a lot of food options but we didn't stay long enough to try them. We went a couple weekends ago on a Saturday night and they were so dead the band didn't even bother showing up.
Great place to hear Great Music. The food is very good, the service is fast and friendly. As a Musician, it is one of my favorite joints to play in STL. All others restaurants that offer live music should take a lesson from them.
Had seafood gumbo and angry hush puppies. The seafood soup was sooo good! But they have two sizes, bowl and cup. My mom got the cup and I got the bowl and they looked like the same size so I felt cheated. Other than that it was delicious.
A staple in the neighborhood. .! Great talent..! Been there since 1985, longevity for me..! My David Hines was a friend, now deceased. .
It's way too dark and boring for my taste. Especially when you look around and see it's deliberate. Totally lacks authenticity.
Visited BB's a few times while visiting my brother in St. Louis and can't wait to go back! We really enjoyed the live blues, and the gumbo was awesome! Drinks and cover charge were reasonably priced. Plus, I liked the vibe, and the ability to go out front and sit at one of the outdoor tables to have a smoke and see what was going on at the other two nearby blues establishments.
Be prepared to wait a long time for your food, get your own drinks from the bar, and be a vulture to land a better seat. Also, I would not go alone as the neighborhood seems a little dicey. But, other than that, if you like live blues, good food, and good prices, give it a go!
Nice venue for music. Drink prices are not too bad, depending on what you have. Service at the tables is good. Just be careful when you go as I arrived after the nights headliner and the secondary act was a big drop off, definitely not worth the cover.
Live band playing tonight. Nice atmosphere. Didn't like the pulled pork nachos. No taste. No sour cream. No sauce. Ice cream tasted freezer burned. No apple pan dowdy which I wanted.
The music was wonderful, the ambiance is beautiful, and the food was really outstanding. I went there for the music so I wasn’t expecting anything particular from the food beyond something to chew on but my girlfriend and I were both blown away by how great everything was.
We had a great time with our first visit at
BB's Jazz, Blues & Soups. The atmosphere was very welcoming. The staff & patrons were very friendly.
Service was great. The ambience was clean. There's a nice stage. The artwork throughout & lighting is mood setting & a perfect fit to the Jazz/ Blues feel.
We were able to listen to the group "Killer Combo" this night & they were fantastic. We met the owner of BB's also; in short, he is one of the most down to earth guys I've ever met.
Needless to say we enjoyed our time here. We will be back & if your into great Jazz or Blues music, enjoy a friendly atmosphere, good food & drinks, great service. Well, we also highly recommend this place.
My wife and I went there to see a trio of world class musicians to celebrate our anniversary. It's a cool looking place with a nice atmosphere. The band was amazing. But it all went down hill from there.
We had a reserved table near the front of the balcony, however, they had given it to someone else. They gave no reason, excuse or apology and then seated us in the overflow area where everyone came and went.
They have a screen in the wall above the musicians so those in the balcony can see the band, but there were a lot of people in front of us and the people blocked our view. On top of all this they gave us zero service. I began to ask the girl at the bar for food and drinks but she just turned and walked away a couple of times. The girl and the guy at the bar made eye contact with me numerous times, but never came over to take our order. I thought,."O.K. they're busy. They'll get back to me in a minute.". Nope, they never came over or said a word to me. The music was great, but we couldn't understand what they said between songs. They need to adjust the P.A. system. The place has potential. I wanted to like it, but this was perhaps the absolute worst customer service we've ever received anywhere like it. If I could give them negative stars, I would, because they deserve it. Just color me unimpressed and very disappointed.
If you're in the mood for some great food and fantastic music, check this place out! Cover is $10 and they can add it to your bill, so no line! I had the gumbo and pecan pie! So good! Plus, friendly service that never lets your drink go dry.
Great food at good prices. Great atmosphere. Family friendly on Saturday afternoon. Tower of Power Tribute Band was very, very good. Outstanding female lead vocalist.
Ronald Johnson & Soul Endeavor was AWESOME!!!! This was my first time hearing them and they really gave a great show. This was my first time at BB's as well & I will DEFINITELY be back .. I haven't experienced GREAT Customer Service that I did last night in a long time. Our waiter/bartender Lin was the Best, he made sure that we were taken care of & was polite the entire time. John, one of the owners, greeted us as soon as we walked in, he sat down and talked to us, & before we left he thanked is for coming. A long time server have my sister the history of the business that really intrigued her. I really like salad and the ranch dressing made me almost want to turn it into an all you can eat salad😁 I'm pregnant & my taste buds a lil off so the other food was just good to me but my family enjoyed everything that they ordered. Nobody had an empty plate and if they did it was because we boxed it to go.
The $10/person cover charge was WELL worth it.
We were a group of four, very hungry, and Broadway Oyster Bar was beyond packed, and this place was right around the corner, so we decided to give it a try. Bad decision.
We were greeted at the door with a $10 cover charge. We said we were just there for the food, and given the option to go upstairs and eat there for $5 each. We had to use the atm to get cash out to pay for this, then went upstairs.
The bartender took our drink order and left us menus. We noticed a large birthday party setting up so decided to hurry and get our food order in quick. We all ordered and settled in to people-watch. This was quite the enthusiastic crowd and the band was getting started up downstairs so we were starting to enjoy ourselves.
Fast-forward an hour, and we were sitting there with empty drinks and still hungry. The bartender did apologize, and said he would take half off our meals, so we kept waiting. He assured us they were getting our order together and it should be right out. Three times. And never offered to get us more drinks.
We waited another 15 minutes or so, until we noticed that people that had come in after us and after we ordered were getting their food and we were still sitting there hungry and now thirsty. That's when we decided we couldn't wait any longer and made our way downstairs to find another spot. The bartender was down there and he did apologize, and the doorman was kind enough to give us back our cover charge when he heard the predicament.
We don't fault the bartender aside from the drink situation, and the doorman returning our money was nice, but we will not be returning, especially if we're hungry.
The band was great but the service and food are horrible! Ordered the gumbo and after waiting 45 minutes (which I get on Saturday) it arrived a good 10 minutes AFTER my husband got his food and was ice cold.....like they took it out the fridge!! The waitress didn't bring any utensils so after my husband had to hunt some down he got to enjoy his food. No one ever offered any apology and even to fix the issue. If you come here, make sure you eat first!
Outstanding music and food all in the same spot. The employees were so great and the service was exceptional.
We heard two outstanding bands and great seating. Bill who is fairly new to BBs was kind and knowledge. He is off to a great start. We will definitely be back. BTW, this is one of the most affordable joints around too. Where else can you see multiple bands for one cover?
Cool atmosphere. Great bands. Good food. The place oozes history. What more could you want in a blues bar?
Food was great, service excellent and very talented musicians. This made our last night in St. Louis very memorable! I would highly recommend!
Great place visit for an out of tower. Good creole menu and good blues music. Friendly staff nice outdoor area.
I loved the ambiance and the music. Both jazz sets were awesome. I felt the apps were decent, the fried green tomatoes and jalapeno hush puppies were the star of the meal. The gumbo and red beans and rice were not good, however. The beans were horribly overcooked and tasted like it had been reheated multiple times. The gumbo was simply lacking in flavor of any kind. Will be back for the music, but won't be trying any of their "soups" again.
Great music and atmosphere. Live local bands. Local beers on tap. Good local food and delicious specials of the day. Highly recommend when you are in St Louis. Will go again.
BB's has been one of my favorite places for music, drinks and food. We always have great blues musicians and if you can stay up latemusicians make their way there from all over town to jam.
My wife and I went to BB’s Jazz, Blues and Soups last night (8/29) and it was an exhilarating experience. The musicians were first rate. By musicians, I am including The STL Shed band, it’s lead singer, Tish, who is a talented, entertaining , and engaging woman; and the participating audience members, who one after the other showcased their talents. I mean one person after another had a great voice or other musical talent. From singers to guitarists, to soprano saxophone player, to keyboardists, to drummers - first rate. This was a tribute night, so I don’t know if musicians happened to drop in - no matter- I thought it was great. Had ribs and they were very good, too. Also liked the beer. Highly recommended!
Best live music in Saint Louis. Wonderful place to grab a drink and watch an amazing performance. The feel of the restaurant is amazing and the staff are great. It can get busy but the right kind of energy. This is a must go location of Saint Louis.
BB's was soo fun and the music very enjoyable all evening. crowd was medium size on this Friday night. loved sitting upstairs practically had it all to ourselves. guitarist was so versatile clearly had played for many years. very enjoyable time...
We arrived early on a Wednesday evening. Great small venue for drinks and music. Three different performers, all very good and entertaining. There was a small cover charge and the drinks were reasonably priced. Parking can be a challenge, but very much worth the effort.
Great food, great people, Phenomenal Music The best kept secret in the Lou!
Sip and stir atmosphere and a wide selection of talent.... Check them out on a Sunday night for a few hours....
You will understand. Then come back any day of the week....
This is such a fun place. My wife and I have been here a couple times. The first time was just us, on a Friday night around 9pm, the place was busy and we sat shared a table. That day we only got appetizers and drinks, everything was good. The marinara sauce (that comes with toaste raviolis) was really good. And they have good selection of beers.
The second time we went was with a group if friends and this time we did get food, the steak sandwich was super good! And the gumbo (which my wife ordered) was really tasty too. One of our friends, who got the ribs did not say a single word until after he finished, when he pointed out that those ribs were delicious.
Both time the music have been good, really entertaining, looking forward to coming back, they print out the monthly calendar in the menu, so you can’t miss it.
Excellent experience. Saw Kim Massie and TomHall perform. Place is like a cabaret style setting with tables and chairs to enjoy great blues music along with some food and drink. I had Toasted Ravioli which is up their with the best in The Lou. Red Beans and Rice was incredible! Nice place to go!
This was my first time at BB’s bar and grill. I visited there from Southern California and needless to say I had such a blast I spent every night I had available to go there.
The food, the waiters, the bar tenders, the owner , etc. made my experience something I will never forget.
I can’t wait to go back!! Love this place!
The atmosphere is mature. The food... better cooks much needed. Nonetheless, the quality of entertainment depends on which band is playing.
I can't say that we came here to eat...so my review is not on the food. Went out with some coworkers to enjoy some drinks and live music, and this ended up being the best part of the trip.
Just a great venue with a really fun atmosphere. The band who was playing was excellent, full of great musicians doing their thing. Good mix of people in the bar, from all walks of life...just enjoying the vibe.
If I'm ever back in the St. Louis area again, this would definitely be a place I'll hit again.
The music was great. The service was good. But the food was not good at all. I had vegetarian red beans and rice. It showed up without the rice. My server brought me some rice, but it was not done. The beans were quite tasty. But....
Great Southern Food. Had the sweet potato pie recently, it was great, while watching Musicians from all over put together an impromptu show. Great night
I came in town from Chicago looking for an African American restaurant, this was not. The covet charge was $25, extremely high for sub-par band, sound system and mediocre singing. The background singers were better than the leads. The food was below average, pecan pie an extremely small piece for $6.50 .... food took forever 😡Drinks also took forever, nice bar tender but to overwhelmed.. beautiful place look like it had rich history. Overall, I would not recommend not at all worth the 150.00 I spent there.
The live music was nice, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Spent quite a while trying to order, and even longer (nearly an hour) waiting to get my food. Also, was served cold, hard butter to dip my hush puppies in, and given no knife to even attempt to spread it. My mom got soup with cornbread, the soup was good and the cornbread ok, but again with cold hard butter and no knife...
My first time here were celebrating our anniversary.
Enjoy the band, food an drinks for 2 we spent $27. The band started playing at 10 the upstairs is nice....read this and 152 more
