How would you rate Boogalou Restaurant & Lounge?
New to the Atlanta scene and after frequenting many popular east coast lounges in the DC Metro area, Philly, NYC and Miami (list goes on); I must say that I was thoroughly impressed. They are currently during renovations near the entrance but nothing drastically noticeable nor intrusive to take away from the ambience while you dine.
The swings at the bar created a scene for an enjoyable evening of sheer amazement for those whom wished to partake. I however chose to enjoy my evening at a table and utilized the swing for a quick selfie.
The food was completely amazing. I was not expecting the food to be as flavorful and delicious. I read a review that stated that looks are deceiving but in my opinion the food and drinks was spot on. I even ordered a side of Collard greens which totally didn’t pair with any of my meal just to see if it could please my palate and IT DID! They were cooked to perfection, piping hot and seasoned as if my grandmother worked the kitchen. I am definitely a fan and may become a permanent fixture just to enjoy the food and the great atmosphere.
Great food, lively atmosphere, cool staff and best hookahs around. Definitely one of my favorite hangouts. Try the fish tacos!
I went here on Sunday,it was awesome. The host Muffin and the waitress Ray were great as well. They were very attentive and very informative too. The swings are also wonderful, the men there were gentleman as well..Ladies this is the spot
Went to Boogalou ATL for the first time and while they post phenomenal pics on Instagram and other Social Media Outlets, Please note....pics are deceiving. We came to try the brunch buffet after church and although they advertise buffet is $25.00 we were charged $30.00 a piece for a family of 5. My 3 year old son got to eat free. However the buffet was hardly worth $30.00. The food was okay but it was slim Pickens and I do mean slim. They ration out the main course items. So don't go expecting to get your fill in fried chicken. Unless your planning to play musical chairs. They give you two small party wings at a time ! Which means your constantly getting up and getting back in line. Everything else was thrown together! Clearly they have the best photographer when it comes to taking deceiving pics of what you actually get! I also had a piece of hair in my food..... SO GROSS!!!! Which is not surprising considering NO ONE in the restaurant was wearing hats, hairnets, or even service gloves for that matter. Hair in the food is a deal breaker for me. So we definitely will not be returning. Friends save your money!!!! It's defintely NOT worth $30.00 👎👎👎 and the place is filthy. It's way too small to be that dirty!!!! I wish I could give NO STARS But Google won't allow that so that's why they get 1.
This place is decent, but has a lot of potential. I came with a couple friends for the Sunday brunch and was a bit disappointed to find out that the only option was the $25 buffet. We were seated after about 35 minutes which wasn't too bad, and we chose to get the option to add the unlimited mimosas for $15. But we were highly disappointed to find out that they were basically out of half of the items on the buffet, and they weren't willing to reduce the price of the meal.
Overall the food was ok definitely not worth $25. The fried chicken was really good but unfortunately not worth the return visit. The waiter ww had dis a great job. But while we were there we ran into an old friend and her waiter was terrible so I guess it really just depends on who you get.
First time going and the lamb was very delish. Not the best in the world however definitely worth going back for. And if you like to throw back a cocktail or too, their long islands are worth it.
Busy but not too crowded. Sevice was excellent but slow. However, when we left l, we were accused (very loudly, I might add) that we didn't pay our tab repeatedly out of the door for all the patrons to hear.... after the manager kept accusing us she finally went to ask the server and then apologized and the bouncer offered us a free drink.
Celebrated my birthday here a week or so ago and I had a good experience. Arrive a little before midnight and pre order a booth for my friends and I earlier in the week. Dj was great and the place was crazy packed people was every where. Like most places we had to hunt the waitress down to order drinks or to get service but that's pretty expected these days. The waitress was pleasant when she was present like when she escorted us to our booth and brought out our bottles but other than that she wasn't around. Despite the missing server I would recommend this place. GOOD VIBES AND GOOD MUSIC with an appropriate crowd
This place needs a new manager. Service (or lack thereof) is terrible. With only one other party at the bar took about 10 minutes for the bartender to notice that both our drinks were empty and we stopped eating. The staff spends 95% of the time socializing. The dirtiest bucket I have ever seen got left on the counter between the two bars. After staring at it for 5 minutes I asked what they keep in they keep in the bucket, trying to encourage the bartender to put it away. She replied "ice". So gross! Glad I was drinking bottled beer or I probably would have caught a disease. Beer selection is garbage, better at any gas station. My wife who loves crab cakes didn't even finish one so that tells you how bad the food is. On the way out the hostess didn't even notice us leaving she was so busy staring at her phone.
More of a club like atmosphere than a restaurant. Music is very loud... You can eat but be ready for bottle service really loud music if you are eating and dancing...
My husband and I just left and it did not live up to the hype. The service was lacking. This was our first time here so we didn't know what to do. We were seated and that was it. It was about 20min before the hostess came over to say that we can gonly ahead and fix our plates. We when got to the "buffet" we had to wait on plates and they were pretty much out of everything. We figured out ourselves that you could also orider pancakes, waffles and French toast. After we sat down with our plates we waited another 10min to receive mimosas. It was then that we also asked for water. 20mins later I asked again for water and got it. I felt like we were just invisible. We wasted $54. We ended up walking down to Nancy's and ordering a pizza to go. Their Instagram page had me really excited about trying their brunch. I was thoroughly disappointed! This will be my first and last time giving them my business.
Wife wanted to try, I told her the pictures they use on Instagram every weekend was recycled, but she insisted. Raw bacon, canned fruit, old chicken, at least 30 mins to get my first mimosa. Door greater keeps getting pissed because CUSTOMERS keep walking in to give them THEIR business, I can go on. Was so mad I just wanted my check and leave. Paid them their 54 bucks and walked down to Nancy's to get better service and quality food.
Visited boogalou this past sat. for a small class reunion.I enjoyed myself, my favorite is the swings at the bar. Hotwings were good, tried a few drinks, all my drinks were weak that's why I rated it a four.. Overall it's a great atmosphere, I will revisit...
Ok so where do I begin, upon entering I leave the hostess know that I was looking for my girlfriend, her reply "ok", no, ma'am can I help you? Nope! Next, the buffet, last time I checked all the other buffets in Atlanta let you serve yourself. So where do we do that at, really? But, thank you to Tony , he was very nice to serve us our food because the server abandoned her post....The End
This place was a great pick for my friend's birthday dinner. Parking in the area is tough so it makes sense to valet for $10. The drinks are pricey at around $13 per drink but they are good. The jerk shrimp tacos and the lamb was DELICIOUS! The drinks took a while to come and some of the orders were wrong but besides that, the service is good. The cajun shrimp appetizer was good but very salty. The selling point: they have swings instead of bar stools at each bar (there are 2)... and Hookah!
Cool atmosphere with cocktails (generic, not craft cocktails) and food. The food is okay, but the music and hookah is great. Make a reservation for a table or go early to get a swing. They recently expanded into the space next door so it's not as overcrowded as it used to be. It's a good time.
Found out about this place on a list of black owned establishments in Atlanta so a friend and I decided to check it out. The place is very well put together. I love the swinging seats at the bar and the atmosphere is nice. If you get there early enough the service is pretty good. I got there around 7:30, was promptly seated on the right side, was immediately attended to, ordered an app and a drink, rcvd both in pretty good time and was attended to in a timely manner. The problems start around 9pm on weekend nights. The food took a little longer than I'd hoped, which is expected but the lamp chops were pretty good. After that it was a wrap! We asked for a hookah, the waitress said she was going to get us a menu. About 20 mins later she comes back and asks us what flavors we wanted. We say you never brought us our menu! She rattles off some flavors and we order. My friends orders 2 margaritas from the bar (this would be our 2nd round). This round tasted terrible (this round was made by a different bartender). She had to go to a different bartender to get the drinks remade. Later on we order 2 shots from the same waitress that never brought us the hookah menu. No exaggeration, it took us 30 mins to get 2 shots of tequila. Took another 30 mins for her to look our way so we could ask for the check. Wanting to support this business, we had to talk ourselves out of just walking out without paying. Finally got the check, sat for another 10 before we ended up walking up to the waitress to get our cards and receipts back. If they would stop being cheap and hire more ppl to work busy weekend nights, I'd consider going again but not at this point.
Horrible customer service. Went there for food and waitress brought menus but didn't let us know that the kitchen opened at a certain time. When we left our table to go to the bar to order that's when we found out the kitchen was closed. I told to bar girl ok let me just paying for my drink then so I can go and she said I had to cash out with my waitress since I didn't get the drink at the bar. Heard that the food was good, but will never know because of the horrible customer service, I will never return.
I went to Boogalou's last night and the customer service was lackluster to say the least. With only one man behind the bar, i had already finished my drink before my friends could even order. When we sat down in a booth, we tried but failed to get a waitress to take our food order for about an hour, when we finally managed to track one down, she said the kitchen had just closed smh. To top off the horrible experience I realized after leaving that the bartender shorted me $30 in change smh. I won't be back anytime soon.
We went at night. Like around 11:30 it was packed. Service was excellent ordered drinks food they were given to us instantly. Princess was our server the host was cool and funny. Worth going chill environment & this is coming from a home body.
Loved the atmosphere. First time going and I definitely plan to return. I had the chicken and waffles. Wings were on point. Waffle tasted like an eggo and I expected for it to be better. Overall great experience.
First its more of a club than anything. Great atmosphere ruined by the fact that the music is too damn loud for such a small space and even on a light Thursday night, you may have to get bottle service to get a seat. Second, the swings are a very dumb idea. They cut off space at the bar so its hard work to get a drink when the crowd isnt even that big. The service is mediocre at best. The only bright spot was the dish I ordered.
The last time i went a fight broke out a costumer and an off duty cop in plain clothes they fought against the table i was sitting at falling on me and causing me an injured knee!!! Our food and drinks knocked over every where I just went and sat in the car. I was invited out again but I declined only for my friend to call me and say that two females fought when she went on that day!! This club is nice and the food is too good for that type of crowd!!
Nice place not really a Lounge kind of place more of a club setting music very loud people very nice waitresses take a little long to handle your order but overall nice place to go for a great night out would refer anyone I know this place is mostly for hip hop music coolest feature about the place is the swings at the bar
This is a great place for Thursday nights. Fun karaoke and local popular radio station plays the greatest hits during breaks. The food is fantastic and even though it was beyond busy, our waitress was amazing with keeping our drinks full. To get a table you must have a reservation! Please note, this place is a bit too loud to have a conversation, so go with friends you don't mind shouting over the table to.
I enjoyed the place. The place is nice , the food is good and music. The bathrooms were not cleaned as well. It wasn't crowded that night because of the "snow storm". Anyway the waitress barely checked our table, it was 5 of us. So it was time to go and I didn't give her a tip because $6.66 was already added in. If I felt like she deserved an additional tip, I would given it to her. So a few days later, I see that the waitress wrote in an additional $5.00 tip. So I've contacted the place several times. I was referred to a guy that handles these types of situations and he suppose to get the manager to call me. No one has called me back, there's no telling how many customers she's stolen from. I'm pissed off because I really liked the place but no one has called me to resolve the issue. I didn't want to do it this way but I'm not getting any response. This situation happened on January 7th and it's almost February.
We went really late, they were preparing to close, but it seems like a really cool, grown atmosphere. Valet right in front for around $10, I saw Hookahs and the cute swings at the bar. Enjoyed the local early 2000s/ Atlanta music mix, definitely gonna go back again. (Just earlier in the night so I can get my swing on lol)
They SUCK!!! Charged $20 for parking and $20 entrance for Super Bowl. However, they failed to mention they had no TABLES! Wish I read the comments before going. Will NEVER GO AGAIN. Customer service is not on the menu or mind of staff. I did get $20 refund with no issue considering I was only there for 5 min if that.
The food is great and the atmosphere is really cool. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the service could've been better l. But overall it's cool. I'd go back.
This place needs a new manager. Service (or lack thereof) is terrible. Love the food...me and my boyfriend love the atmosphere. One of our favorite spots. Music is great!! Waitresses could be more on top of what the customers need. But overall good..
Me and my sister came here and had a great time! Music and drinks was on point! Crowd was awesome. Will definitely come back to try the food! Lit
Good food on Sunday buffet... only reason why 4 stars is because price of buffet and mimosas was a bit much... otherwise 5 stars. Great atmosphere to hang out with friends, family and loved ones.
This is an awesome place to celebrate any occasion. The food, music and drinks are great. The service is impeccable.. You will not be disappointed. They also have a great selection of hookahs to choose from
My daugther and i visited this place for mother's day brunch her treat.. The food was below average, server was ok until we realize days later a 10.00 extra charge was added to her bill... We left a cash tip... I have called twice to make the manger aware no return call.. please pay with cash if u decide to visit....
The drinks are definitely on point. Enjoyed the service and it was a good mix of classy/hood. I highly recommend a night at the Boogalou.
The swings as chairs at the bar added a fun quality to the lounge but something about the atmosphere was a bit off. The hookah was great and ladies were free on the Friday I went. Wasn't bad. Just not a place I feel the need to rush back to.
Love this spot. The servers were so friendly & they offered great recommendations. Decent parking. Good prices.
This Place is AWESOME! I have never been to a lounge with swings at the bar this was a great experience and I will definitely be back to visit. Dress code is cute casual and the atmosphere is very welcoming
We thought we we're going to a posh establishment, very mature and classy. Boy were we wrong. It was very unauthentic and ghetto as hell. The security was too busy hitting on the servers to be taken seriously as quality or protection patrol. There was a full fledge bar fight with these half dressed drunken regulars throwing glasses at each other over the bar screaming and yelling! I was appalled, and couldn't wait to G get out of there! Instead of security trying to haul there ass out he was hugging and comforting a few of them while they cussed and wailed about being regulars and disrespected. I caught it all on video and posted it to my IG because I haven't clubbed in years, and this was my first time in that setting and why I don't go out anymore. This was supposed to be a mature lounge, but was more a lil chic whole in the wall. The only upside to us first getting there was we got our drinks in a short wait and they were very good strong tasted. The food I ordered was delayed because I saw my server holding my food by the kitchen door while she was preoccupied by some disturbance at the bar, but it was good shrimp pasta. I won't be fooled again by nice pictures and a good looking menu!
I'm from Baltimore and I'm considering moving to Atlanta because I received the best customer service at Boogalou that I've ever had!! I'm on Flirt side (Kaye&Tierra) the two bartenders at the bar were everything!! I'm definitely coming back to see them!!
Cool get-together spot. Love that ladies are always free as long as you don't have on sneakers. Drinks way too expensive for the little bit of liquor you receive.
Very nice establishment! Has a great vibe and crowd. Ladies were stunning and the Men were gentleman.
Best happy hour in Atlanta. M-F 4-9 $5 drink specials. Great food especially steak quesadillas. Hookah service provided. Sade is the best server ever! Parking options valet or across street. Sun $25 buffet brunch includes bottomless mimosas. This is one of my favorite places in Atlanta.. the owner Jonathan is humble and great personality.
Took a star because they was out of Lobster but the pasta dish I ordered was AMAZING! And the catfish my husband ordered was AMAZING. The waitress was super cute and friendly but the guy who brought our food was ehhhh. He just bought it out out of order no words. Just dropped the food and left. But his demeanor was hilarious, because it was not what he did but how lol. Would def go back!!
Good location of lounge (East Atlanta). Just don't go there on Saturdays were its a $250.00 per bottle VIP only. Wanted to host a birthday party and was turned away due to "VIP" Only Saturdays. I was cool with that at first but when I called, received vmail. Left a message of party request. Two minutes later received a "text message" wanting to discuss the venue details. Why not just answer the phone and conduct business like a business.. Millennials!! During the text I received an email stating "Your birthday party reservation is cancel due to VIP Only" Not worth the time or $250.00 per bottle BS Service to deal with. This lounge will probably closed, change owners and name of business by next summer. The Atlanta way of conducting business.
Good music, friendly servers, and loved the jerk shrimp tacos. Good deals during the long happy hours. Happy hour last until 9pm. Check out the swings at the bar.
We went for brunch today, the absolute worst food we’ve ever encountered. My husband normally doesn’t complain, but he even expressed how terrible the food was. Avoid brunch here. Bacon undercooked, waffles was doughy, chicken still had blood in it and everything else was bland. Not worth $25 pp, more less $5 pp. This was just how bad the food was. The only saving grace was the mimosa’s. I got full off of those and fruit. The cooks are either new and just learned to cook or they don’t care about the quality of food on brunch. I can’t speak for the regular menu, but if brunch was that terrible, I can only imagine. I will say, the setup was nice but the food was garbage!! 🤢
Boogalou boneless wings tasted delicious. Happy hour from 4-9pm. I ordered $5 margaritas and $5 wings during happy hour. Both tasted good. Great music if you like hip hop, R&B, and they played a little bit of dancehall. I even had a chance to watch the basketball game on the few screens they had. Would recommend going here to turn up
I hosted a birthday dinner here and specifically asked about the VIP sections and I was told that I could reserve the table for the dine in hours then the tables are all put up when it change over to the night scene. Well that wasn't true the tables stayed out and then we was told if we bought 2 bottles we could keep our tables this after we've already ordered food spent money. Then we were given 2 different prices for the bottles. Our waitress on the other hand was awesome the music was cool the food was ok however some of the food was undercooked and then when it was sent back they pulled the skin off and brought the same food back out.
We left and went and finished celebrating somewhere else.
We hosted a birthday celebration there and they told us that if we ordered a bottle we could reserve a section big enough for 8-9 people but when we got there our section barely fit 6. When we asked if we could be moved to the bigger section next to us they just said no. Drinks took anywhere from 45 min to an hour to get and I ordered a hookah that came 2 hrs later and when I said I didn’t want it anymore the hookah girl got an attitude. I will never go to this place again and would never recommend it to anyone.
Fast and friendly service. Food was spectacular. We felt very welcome here as a couple of tourists. Highly recommended!
Its a nice atmosphere! I enjoyed myself. Just wish some of the Bartenders would smile and be more attentive to customers trying to buy a drink instead of acting like they don't see you standing there.
Had my birthday party here enjoyed myself and my friends. They also are a full service restaurant that serves great food and 🍷. I would say its attractive to the 25 and up crowd but try it out and see for yourself.
I went for brunch on Sunday. I got there at 11:45 am. There was no wait. They don't accept reservations for brunch. I really didn't like that my party of five were squished in a small corner especially when other tables were available. I requested to be moved but they said this was the only table available because they were reserved (I thought reservations couldn't be made). Our server was really nice 😃. The buffet food was good to me. My friends didn't think so lol but I loved it. There were constant refills of mimosas 🤗. I would love to go back.
This place is completely overrated. Bartenders are not that friendly, made my drink wrong twice I was forced to deal with it just so I wouldn't get upset and leave. The dj and swings were cute but that's it. Probably won't return any time soon.
Food was good. Free entry. Love the atmosphere. The broccoli melts in your mouth 😊. I will be sure to visit the next time I'm in town
The concept for the Sunday brunch here is a great one but the execution is poor. They offer an unlimited buffet with unlimited mimosa for a great price. But the line for the buffet can take you almost half an hour to get through. And they give you a time limit on the table seating so that makes no sense. You get to order from the kitchen as well and when that comes it’s cold by the time you get back. Needs to be more efficient. Great music and atmosphere though.
Went here Saturday 2-17-18 with a friend in town. There is valet parking, street parking, or paid self parking lots. We paid $10 to park in a lot across the street. Casual dress, long line, but not a long wait. $20 entry fee. Swings @ the bar. Average wait & service at the bar. Ciroc/sprite & Crown/ginger ale were $10/each. Lots of lounge sections with waitress service for food, drink, & hookahs. Go Go dancers entertaining to the latest Hip Hop music. We had a ball & will definitely go back.
Great place to hang out. Day party on Sundays that closes at 12 midnight. Good lounge spot if your not into the club scene. The food is good especially the wings, but the service for food & hookah is slow. Good vibes overall. Two sides so there's room to maneuver. Girls feel cute posted on the swings at the bar.
The Sunday Brunch is awful. First, the line for the buffet spans the length of the restaurant. Secondly, water from the air conditioning unit was dripping down on the booth and the staff seemed apathetic. There has to be a better way to conceal that so your guests are not getting wet while simply trying to enjoy brunch!
The service is unprofessional. For instance, the waitress greeted us while she was texting on her phone. She literally was looking down at her phone while asking us what we would like to drink. It is poorly managed and operated. I highly recommend not wasting your time.
BAD EXPERIENCE! Went Saturday 3/17/18 to celebrate my cousins birthday. Once we got inside, we were trying to inquire about purchasing a section for the night. Bouncer flashlight guy at the door (yes the one with the beard) was EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful! I know bouncers have to have a certain type of aggressiveness but how he handled us was uncalled for. He kept trying to make us stand behind the reservation booth to make a reservation. The sign said “Wait here to be seated” which was in front of the booth. Well since the host’s back was to us, she didn’t acknowledge us standing there waiting to pay. So we were second in line and ending up waiting for 2 more customers to purchase booths and be seated when we were there first. We waited about 20 mins to purchase and be seated. The only thing that saved our night was our server. She was very pleasant. It’s a nice place with a nice atmosphere. The food and drinks were also good but that initial service, that first impression, killed the vibe.
Went for happy hour... Nice atmosphere. Boogalou wings were pretty good. DJ kept playing the hits back to back. Will definitely be back.
1 star for the music. Seating was tight, about half the restaurant was full because they had some birthday parties going on but the service was non-existent. We got seated quickly, waited 30 minutes and then left. Never got served (not even water), waitresses passed by and didn't acknowledge our table. Spoke to someone who said they would see what's going on and they didn't. If you want to sit at the bar and order drinks or hookah, then you should be fine. Otherwise, I would suggest you eat elsewhere.
Amazing black business! Great happy hour and cool bar. Sunday Brunch is unlimited food. $25! Combo of breakfast and lunch foods! Great service.
If I could give a ZERO, I would.. Went on a Saturday night, It's defenitely more of a club atmosphere than a "Lounge".. Not sure if there's a strict dress code or if you can pay your way past it.. Hats and sneakers and everything else is pretty much is allowed. One guy next to me had on a wife beater..Bouncers are super aggressive and rude... Bought a section, came with a Bottle.. Bottle Definitely wasn't TOP Shelf, what i ordered. I could taste the cheapness in the liquor. They are either mixing liquor or just flat out passing off cheap liquor for top shelf. I definitely could tell my BOTTLE wasn't what it should have been.. That was some disgusting cheap a$$ Liquor!!..Tables in sections were filthy and filled with trash, plates and empty bottles, even after people had left. I wondered where was the bus boy to clean the tables... Had Been a few years since I been to this place, had some guest in town with me and thought they would enjoy it.. The very second I walked In I knew it was going to be some BS. Nevertheless I won't be back in there!
The Valet constantly cuts off traffic, stops traffic, and turns unlawfully to park cars in the gravel lot across the street. There's not a single Friday/Saturday/Sunday night I've been able to drive down ponce without being stopped or having a near miss due to the valet at this establishment.
I'm sorry, but people going to your restaurant is not a pass to create unsafe road conditions for bikers, cars, and pedestrians. You're not legally allowed to direct traffic without an officer there - this is incredibly dangerous.
Edit... It wasn't the police, please don't make me pull dash cam videos.
Met some friends here. Ladies in free, $20 for guys which is ok but then it was an additional $20 for my hat; I was given the option of leaving it at the door. Girls with hats or sneakers also had a $20 upcharge. Once inside, only open seating are bar seats. The other seats are only available if you purchase bottle service. I basically stood although the seats were open... Left after twenty minutes or so. Will not return and I don't recommend. There are so many better options throughout the city that don't scheme for money.
Boogalou has a very unique atmosphere. The first thing that will catch your attention are the swings at the bar which are very cool. The food is surprisingly delicious for a club. However, make sure you get there early the kitchen doesn't stay open all night and when it is busy on the weekend food can take a min. But it is worth the wait. They also offer hookah if you are into that, along with a great dj. No athletic attire allowed and weekends they might sometimes be a cover charge ($20) 😩😒
This place is a hot mess. We went at around 8:30pm got a table and were told that we only had something like an hour and a half with the table. We were puzzled because what establishment limits individuals who are bringing in money. Anywhoo, the food was trash. I just ordered Jerk Chicken Tacos and they were so messy. The rice the used in the tacos was half cooked and still very hard when chewing. The taco was just stacked with meat and rice, barely any vegetables or anything else that makes a taco a taco. One of the individuals I was with ordered regular Chicken Tacos and was given Jerk Chicken Tacos. Another on the individuals I was will ordered rolls that were burnt to a crisp. The staff is unprofessional and whatever manager/supervisor that was there that night was also unprofessional. Just a terrible experience all together don’t waste your money or time.
You can tell from the responses from the owner that this place is unprofessional. Not one comment does the owner take any responsibility or offer a solution. All you get is smart comments, attitude and how nothing is their fault. This is one black business I will NEVER support again even though I’ve been there numerous times. The management, security, hostess and cashier are all GHETTO and unprofessional. Horrible nasty attitudes. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!
They have Karaoke on Tue nights but will cut your song off halfway if the host doesn't like it...very rude. The staff is so so as well as the food. I've been 3x but after last night don't think i will be going back anytime soon.
As a female sitting at the bar with your girlfriends, is not always the best experience when it comes to service. I always see the female bartenders acknowledge men first and attend to their needs more, NOT HERE! Ashley was amazing and Meemee who wasn't even our bartender, was so helpful and sweet as well. She was very attentive and never seemed overwhelmed when it was really busy. She always checked in and got our drinks and hookah refills quickly. Seriously my first amazing experience at the bar and I will always go back and ask for Ashley, make sure you do as well!
Coming from out of town and visiting Boogalou for the first time my wife and I had an amazing time. We asked for a table and they sat is down in the first 10 minutes. The drinks were strong just like we like them. The food was dope and delicious! Our waitress Teal did a wonderful job at keeping us taken care of. They initially told us that we had a 2 hr time limit on the table but then extended our time without us having to ask. The DJ was also a video jockey so you saw the videos while hearing the songs. Once the club started to get packed we asked if we could switch tables and they happily obliged. They helped us with our things and walked us to a new table with no interruption in service. I will definitely be back. As a matter of fact we already have reservations for Tuesday night!
I celebrated my bday there on a Sunday. We had a section and our bottle girl was lit. She kept checking on us which was good. My only complaints were it was HOT in there and when I went to the DJ on the other side to ask him to play one song, he looked at me with a stank face talking bout don't I see him working. First of all, my people paid $500.00 for a section, so I think I could request a song. No harm in asking the rude DJ to play a song. I would have gave this place 5 stars but the rude DJ he was just worried about smoking the hookah. He came on the mic numerous of times saying your DJ need some more hookah. BOY BYE, but you working. Not sure why he had to be so rude because at the end of the day if it wasn't for the people in there spending their money you would not have a job HOME BOY.
Very nice club,my experience here was very warm and welcoming! My bar server Kaye andTierra ! Greeted me with a smile! I loved it because that tells me how she feels about her job! The food was great! The young people really look like they enjoyed themselves! Keep Up the Good Work! Don't get comtable because u as a business owner don't no who is watching!
It was my first time at this establishment. The environment was good and the music was interesting. However, the food was not good at all! The presentation and the taste was not available. I was required to sent back two dishes. Some of the staff members were not very pleasant. But, again the environment was nice... having the swings is a unique and great concept.
I have been to Boogalou in the past for Birthday dinners and gatherings with little to no complaints.
BUT. THAT. BRUNCH. IS. TRASH!
$31.50 per person for an All you can eat brunch buffet & Bottomless Mimosas. That's a great price if the quality of service and food options are up to par.
That was not the case at Boogalou. For 6 people, the waitress brought over 2 carafes of premixed mimosas instead of 6. If each of us paid for bottomless mimosas, why wouldn't we get a carafe per person? Why not sell it by the carafe/bottle instead?
The line was extremely long. That's expected and okay if I'm going to be wowed once I get up there to serve myself. However, the options on the buffet were highly disappointing.
The all you can eat option that is highly advertised is not really what you get once you've paid the 31.50. There are 2 servers (for about 10 - 12 items) at the buffet limiting how much you can have. If we wanted 3 pieces of bacon, the server said: "I'm only allowed to give you 2." WHY?! It's all you can eat!
I understand trying to control food costs and all but simply don't provide an all you can eat option if you plan to control how much you give the paying customers. If there's a 2-hour table limit and I stand in line twice for 30 minutes, I've wasted an hour doing nothing but standing. This is unacceptable.
These issues were also brought up with the Manager on Duty and not received well. She just said, "Well, it's a buffet...but I appreciate your feedback." UM NO! I don't have these issues at Copeland's.
Brunch...So they have this “buffet brunch”, but you have people serving you...now I’m cool with that if you are giving me what I want! Did not enjoy the brunch on this particular day because they only had two servers and the line was way too long for them to give you only a two hour seating window. With the way they “portion” the amount of food you can get at a “buffet” and the time limit on seating it was really unrealistic. The food was good tho, just try to get enough on your first round as I did not get to get back up to get more food due to the time limit and extra long buffet line. They do come to your table and remind you it’s almost time to get up...the bottomless mimosas were a plus, although I do believe if the “brunch package” comes wit bottomless mimosas that each person should have their own container of mimosa instead of sharing amongst a table....this brunch could definitely have been organized better.
Music was awesome. Atmosphere great. Paying for a bottle in order to have a seat at a table is ridiculous! Getting the waitresses to notice you unless you're a guy to shake your butt around is hopeless. Took forever for the food. I Wouldn't recommend unless desperate!
Valet parking was $20, then my husband was charged a $20 entry fee even though we went there to eat. In order to get a table you have to buy food, so I don't feel we should have had to pay an entry fee to eat there. Also the food completely sucked and was too expensive. The chicken strips we're small and did not come with fries..then the $8 side of turkey greens had no turkey in them and no flavor. Then we we're told we could only have the table for 2 hrs. Also the drinks were too expensive.. the club itself was nice and the music was good. So I will give them that..but after paying 40.00 before we even sat down to eat..was a bit much. Also the Valet attendant went thru our cars GPS System and changed settings on our car...which was a bit odd. Obviously they we're up to no good with that. we're here from out of town, and will not be going back there on our next visit.
It was nice but there isnt much dance space. VIP section very small. Friendly staff, nice mix of 2000-2018 music with a little dance hall. Good food and drinks, nice hookahs. Pay to get in, valet, and TVs but not much sitting space either. No smoking.
Try their brunch, it’s $25 for unlimited brunch buffet AND mimosas! The food is pretty good, and the mimosas are yummy...they also have other cocktails, too. You can’t beat that! If you get their early enough you can find really good parking. The only down side is (unless you book a table for a large party), you’re kinda cramped for space.
Honestly one of the best restaurants I've been to. The breakfast brunch with bottomless mimosa was already great but the bar scene after is lively as well. Food was great and this is definitely spot to meet someone at the bar
I often visit boogalou for happy hour on the week day and Saturday night ladies night. Women are free on Saturday nights but the line is typically long if you get there after 11pm. There is no free parking and the cheapest parking I had was $10 across from the lounge. I celebrated my birthday here one year and the bottles are $250 each and include a section and some guest that don't have to pay the cover at the door. But make sure you inquire about the section at the door because if you buy the bottle inside then it will not include your guest at least that's what the hostess said to me. The atmosphere is nice and fun. The music is great and they don't allow smoking other than hookahs which I LOVE. I hate leaving a lounge smelling like marijuana and I don't smoke. I enjoy that they enforce a dress code but charging extra for someone to wear a hat is ridiculous, $20 to be exact. The bathrooms are always clean and the food is good.
Very poor service. Every time I go. Today was my last time giving this establishment my business. Waitresses take your order. And don’t return back to the table until it’s time to kick you out. We were there for 3 hours celebrating a birthday and it was beyond stressful. Moving table to table to please the servers and then finally being told that our time was up just when we got comfortable. Couldn’t order any drinks because of the servers neglect. If your looking for somewhere to lounge and enjoy your friends or family. This is just not the place. (Also pay attention to your checks because they charge gratuity even if your not a party of 5, liked stated in the menu)
Always love coming here. Music is good. Vibe is always great. Their wings are A+++++. Highly recommend. Their happy hour (used to be 6pm to 9pm, but they changed it to 8pm) is uncontested for bars/lounges around the area.
this was my first time at this establishment bar is real cool alcohols are okay the food is awesome. It may take a long time for to get your orders from filled but it's worth the wait. Definitely check it out. make sure you have your ID at the door or it's going to be able to get in this is for anyone 21 and up. They will also search your body make sure you don't bring any large packages as in the backpack or she will not gain entry
Absolutely loved this spot. It's always hard to find a good watering hole with a great ambiance and good food. In most cases its 2/3. This place had all 3. Planning a bday event there for some friends. Swings at the bar are the cutest thing ever. Definitely a good grown and sexy spot.
The music was good. Food was slow and cold when it hit the table. The waitress was nice. The bathroom was clean. Wouldn't recommend it for food. Also you have to be searched to enter for dinner. My opinion from the treatment of my friends is they are not LGBT friendly. The bouncer refused entry to one of my friends for no apparent reason. Again I went for dinner at 630pm. I won't be going back.
The brunch vibes here are very real! This may have been the best part of my last visit to Atlanta. Shoutout to the local who recommended this place while...read this and 238 more
