We were staying at the Best Western across the street and were happy to hear St. Clair did to-go orders. We ordered the flat iron steak and the macaroni and cheese with chicken. OMG, the mac and cheese was outstanding! The flat iron was good but not great. We had ordered it medium/ medium rare and it was medium. Slightly tough. Tasty but wish it was more rare. When we picked up the food, the place looked like a great place to go to and sit on their patio with live music. We highly recommend this place.
The food was amazing as always, however service was below sub par. It took 20 minutes for anyone to come acknowledge us and that was just to say I would right with you. 10 minutes later a gentleman came to ask us if we had been helped. He took charge and became our waiter. For the price, I would expect better service.
Decided to take my mother out for something a little fancier than usual. I heard great things about st Clair's and gave it a shot. The wine and food was amazing for the cost. Ivan was our waiter and made the experience great! He knew about the wines and made recommendations which ended up being amazing. I've been back twice since and always ask for Ivan not only for his knowledge of wines but he made the evenings so much better. Highly recommend St Clair's.
Had a recent wedding reception. What a disaster. Contract clearly stated 50 people, 5:30 arrival time, several bottles of wine purchased at wholesale prices at time of contract, then at event was told they were UNABLE to OPEN bottles in the banquet room unless retail prices were paid. What's the purpose of your "contract"? Upon arrival, it was obvious there was NOT enough room or seating to accommodate 50 people. As we were packed like sardines, trying to celebrate the new couples special day it began to rain INSIDE the restaurant just outside the entrance to the banquet room causing anyone entering or exiting the room to be rained upon. Not to mention the dangers of slipping and falling of which several guests AND one of the servers almost did. Lastly, the manager was SO RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL AND EXTREMELY ARGUMENTATIVE it was appalling. The bride and groom had allowed all their guests to serve themselves first which left the bride without a portion of the main course. She asked for a portion of the chicken Parmesan for herself and was brought AND CHARGED for an ENTIRE PAN of Chicken Parmesan. To which this so called manager argued with and made cry several times on her wedding day. I have personally been in the restaurant management industry my whole adult career and found this man's behavior ABSOLUTELY DEPLORABLE. The one star was given because of the servers. They did an outstanding job considering whom they were working under, fore mentioned "MANAGER" what a joke of a title. After spending nearly $1000.00 the guy offers a free meal card for the new couple, an apology was NOT even offered. Our previous wedding reception held at this establishment was beautiful, and I'm sure under different MANAGEMENT. It will be our LAST. McDonald's play place would be considered first as long as that same manager works there.
Great food and great wine. We love the live music nights and sitting out back! Service is a little slow but I think they just want you to savour and take your time. Never disappointed when we go here!
There's a reason why this place is rated so highly on TripAdvisor. It's because it is really really great. The outside patio is awesome and it is dog friendly if you have your pet on a leash. The wines are sweet but really good and they do have a selection of dry wines as well. The food was fantastic. I have nothing else to say. See for yourself. I loved it.
Horrible customer service and hair in food! From the moment we walked in we were disregarded by the hostess staff...that should've been the first sign. Then when we mentioned that there was a hair embedded in my food, the manager explained that it looks more like a fiber from clothes. Yet, he made no effort to try to correct the situation. You present a plate with anything but food on it and I don't believe it's unreasonable to expect some sort of compensation. The rest of the entrees were served cold but at this point we figured there was no point in mentioning it. They've lost 6 couples who will not return because of poor customer service and leadership.
I cannot say enough in praise for this restaurant. They are already and have been for many years one of my favorite restaurants in Albuquerque. Last nights experience is a testament to just how much this place cares about patrons. I had plans to have dinner at another restaurant with a group of 12 friends in old town. I had made reservations a week before and the restaurant we went to was not only rude when we checked in but went so far as to tell us our reservation should not have been accepted for that group. Upset and insulted because they couldn't even guarantee us a table, I called St. Clair in hopes that maybe they could get us in on a Friday night. I called the restaurant and the hostess spoke to the manager and said it would be an hour but she could assure us we would get a table. We walked from old town to the restaurant and checked in. While we were getting wine and beer at the bar as we waited the hostess called our name for a table. This was less than twenty minutes after our arrival. Not only was the food wonderful and the service amazing but the restaurant went above and beyond to take care of my dinner party in light of what had happened. Thanks to this and many other wonderful experiences here, I will always and forever be a patron of St. Clair.
Very hit or miss here. Been here several times and usually get the steak. Today it came overcooked and tough as leather. Waitress saw I wasn't happy and said she'd bring me another. Was back literally two minutes later with a seared rare steak. No exaggeration, completely uncooked. Is there no in between? Second time this had happened to me here, you'd think I'd learn but the wine is good.
Tried to contact you at the email listed below. Undeliverable
The food is ALWAYS fresh and delicious and made as ordered. They have one of the best in house selection of wines in town and their staff is superb. If you haven't tried St. Clair winery & bistro you should!
The staff and drinks are great, but the food was so-so. While the pasta was cooked perfect, the chicken in it had an odd texture. Highly recommend their wines and service. It's possible the kitchen was just having an off day.
Great service, cozy atmosphere, reasonable prices, excellent food, great variety in the menu (pasta, sea food, meat, salads) the Chef Jaime gives food an amazing touch! -Kid friendly!
We’ve been eating here for almost a decade and have brought many friends and out-of-town visitors with us over the years. The food is fantastic - as is the wine selection - and the service is reliably professional and pleasant. The patio is beautiful and live music on summer evenings gets people up and dancing, making for a lively, fun atmosphere. You can (and should... because it’s excellent...) buy wine and winery souvenirs in the shop around the reception area.
this place is awesome... we went there for girls night out 3 weeks ago. awesome food... location... great atmosphere.... highly recommend!
Oh ya ... I love the dessert too...
thanks! love it
St. Clair's has the best wine around. We tried the pasta New Mexico and the Ribeye, both signature plates and they were amazing. The service was great. We will definitely make this a must stop whenever we are in town. Loved it.
I had the most amazing experience at St. Clair last night that has my fiance and I still talking about it. Their Valentine's Day Menu was incredible. Fettuccini Pasta with Squid Ink? Wow! Not only was the food amazing but it was out incredibly quickly! Also the Wine Flights our server suggested paired perfectly with our meals. We went home with a bottle of their "Kiva Special Reserve" which was equally amazing. We will definitely be back!
Planning a wedding is not easy but St Clair made our experience easy and a beautiful one. With only 5 days of planning and prep St. Clair made our day special with a beautiful outdoor setting. They gave us a wedding of our dreams! Professional staff and great management! We definitely recommend this place! ❤️❤️❤️
Passing through Albequerque on a family vacation with our two college-age children and didn't want the touristy "New Mexico" eatery; This was a pleasant alternative.
Upscale, casual atmosphere. Varied and delicious menu with reasonable prices. Service was pleasant and attentive. Overall a great experience. If we lived here, we'd add this to our list of favorites.
Went here for mother's day. They had buffet style brunch set up outside. Great variety and food was delicious! Staff was super friendly. The reservation we made was perfectly organized and on time. I will be back here to try dinner. Also will be back next year! Thank you for doing such a great day!!
This restaurant is great for wine and appetizers. Their entrees have been a miss for me the last 3-4 times we have been there but the wine flights and cheese nosh keep us coming back. It's a fun place to take family when they are in town.
For our first night in Albuquerque, we noticed a good number of options to eat. We kept seeing this local favorite and, boy were we happy we dined here.
Prices are reasonable. Quality of food is great and was pleasantly surprised by learning New Mexico has a respectable list of locally produced wines.
Will be coming back and try their appetizer samplers and their Wine flights.
Delightful tasting experience! We sat at the bar and had several flights of wine varietals paired with cheeses, appetizers, soup, and salad. There are full dinner entrees available too. We filled up on the small plates. We enjoyed all the wine we tasted, but the Mouvedre and the Cabernet stood out as our favorites. Our server, Marlene was informative and fun!
Horrible. We have eaten here a few times a year for several years when we are in the old town area. Our initial visits were not great but the food was acceptable and the service was excellent but over the years this has become a poorly run restaurant. Our recent visit was our last. My wife's pecan crusted chicken was burned and my "pesto" shrimp was bland and had a horrible taste (if you like pesto, do not order this dish as the pesto was barely detectable). Our waiter was attentive but the food took forever to arrive. There was a staff member visiting with a nearby table in the dining area for the duration of our stay (an hour or more) who was so loud and obnoxious we couldn't carry on a conversation. We mentioned this as we were leaving to the hostess and as we were relaying the information while standing at the door with one foot outside, we could still hear the cackling laugh of this employee from outside the restaurant. The hostess acknowledged the loud laugh coming from the back of the restaurant and informed us that she would relay our complaint to the manager. We declined to wait to speak with him ourselves wanting not to expand on this horrible experience. The ambiance, which is one of the few positive attributes this place has to offer, was negated by the management who chose to allow their customers to suffer while they ignored the need to redirect an inappropriate employee. This place has never had great food (cannot understand the many positive reviews as at best, the food is average with many of their dishes lacking taste) but again, the ambiance and service and the lack of other good dining in Old Town, made it bearable. Not anymore!
Pecan crusted chicken was excellent, steaks were average. The wine we had was fantastic, best Zinfandel I think I have ever had. The service was good, but need to go through a little more training. Noisy.
I really like the ambience of this place, it's real relaxing. The service has been good everytime I have come however this time it was not. The waitress took awhile to come get our order, she was not attentive. We had to ask for boxes twice and another waiter came and finally brought them about 10 min. later. After that we waited about 15 more minutes to see of she would come by and didn't so we asked another waitress if she could find ours. Our waitress finally came and we requested the check. About 10 min later she came back w/ the check and we gave her our cards quickly because we knew if she left it would be awhile. We asked her to split the bill and when she came back guess what..the bill was not split. We didn't want to argue the issue because it would take another significant amount of time to fix so left it like that and left. Besides the service the food is very good. The pricing is a bit high but you would expect this. The times I have been here I have not disliked anything I have tried. The wine is good also. I would recommend this place and I would return myself hoping I do not get the same service. I will tell you, the Pesto pasta w/ sauteed shrimp is amazing. Enjoy!!
We enjoyed this restaurant so much. It was such a romantic and wonderful atmosphere. We did go there for a big party. We want to go back for a date night. The wine selections were amazing. The place settings at each table were extravagant. The spinach salad is so delicious and perfectly made. Very fresh tasting. The pasta was cooked to perfection. We will definitely go back and we recommend this wonderful restaurant.
St. Clair's is one of my most favorite places to celebrate any occasion! The patio is an awesome place to sit, they have a great assortment of wines, and a great server named Giselle! She provided us with great service with a smile and was always around checking to see if we needed refills or anything else. Thank you Giselle for making my lunch with my girlfriend, who I haven't seen in 4 years, a special reunion! I wish they would bring back the pasta Danielle to the menu, but the cook was nice enough to make it special for me.
I only stopped in here briefly on my way to a nearby art show. My friends and I just wanted to trap a glass of wine and maybe a dessert before heading out. The staff was personable and quick. The wines we had were stellar. I can only imagine how it would be if we had stayed for a whole meal.
Celebrated my Birthday and my step daughter's Birthday here, different times, different months, different servers but the same great food and service each time! I really want to thank you for adding the Incredible Burger to your menu! As a vegetarian (mostly vegan) I really appreciate you having so many vegetarian and vegan options to choose from! My Impossible Burger was outstanding! We will be driving from Rio Rancho to eat here often now! I'm hooked! Thank you!
I grew up in New Mexico, but live in another state and remember how great and friendly New Mexican people are, but Tonia at the bar was beyond that. She was so warm and friendly and we had the best time doing a wine tasting. We really enjoyed wines and plan on joining the wine club. We didn't try the food, bit everyone really seemed to be enjoying themselves.
The food was delicious and the service was great! I also really enjoyed the mood of the restaurant. It was very inviting. I will definitely come back!
For the price of their food and service this was a bad night steak was dry and over cooked. Wifes steak was over cooked and was a little moist. But because i was very hungry i didn't send it back good thing. One of our friends that was with us didn't get his food until we were done eating. I think the cooks need to step up their game. The calamari was outstanding. Wine was very good "Sinful flight" not bad for the the price. Our waiter was very nice but at one point he stop coming around to our small party we had. I did have to ask for more bread and didn't get asked if i wanted anymore wine. After paying we went to a different location to drink more wine. I definitely will not be going back, first and last time for everything. Thanks cheers
OH MY GORD . Just ordered the meatloaf and it was fantastic. I hate Brussels sprouts, but those were sensational. The mash potatoes were smooth and tasty. I was Impressed. Thank you so much for a tasty meal !
First time coming. Literally everything was great. The food was portioned to the price if what you are paying. You can totally take leftovers home. The food itself was literally awesome. I got the meatloaf and substituted the mashed potatoes for asparagus and no problem with that too. Our waitress Akilah was hands down so bubbly and great. She made the experience much more comfortable. I would definitely come back again.
Went to this lovely Bistro for our Anniversary dinner. I loved how they had wine flights, so you could sample a few before making your choice. I ended up picking something I normally would never have, which was nice. The food came out in a good time. Everything looked and tasted delicious. We even had dessert, all because tiramisu was offered. The menu was fantastic and prices were very reasonable. For an anniversary dinner at a amazing place with great atmosphere and wonderful staff, we feel we made the best choice to celebrate here. Looking forward to taking our family and friends here.
My wife and I love this place. Staff is very friendly and the food is always great. This is my go to place when I have company in town.
Fist time here! Everything was amazing from the chicken salad to the butternut squash! Esther was our waitress and was super helpful with my moms allergies. She was by far one of the best servers we have ever had! She’s amazing and super nice and friendly! Food was great and they do have dairy free and gluten free options. Limited parking and clean bathrooms! Pictured are the bacon wrapped dates - which were awesome!!
We were looking forward to an evening of music and yum food. Checked in, 25 minutes later seated in the patio. 45 minutes later we walked out, waiters walked past us over and over again, we didn’t even get a glass of water. As we were leaving, a waiter thanked us for coming in, we laughed and said we were walking out after being ignored for almost an hour. Now the manager is concerned, we just left. So disappointed. UPDATE, we gave this place another chance...yup, took us a year the last experience was so bad. We didn’t want the manager to know, we wanted to see if the last experience was the new normal or not. St Clair was the great place we’d always enjoyed dining at before! We sat in the patio to enjoy the music, it’s winter and cold outside but the fireplace had us comfy. Food was very good and of course the wine was wonderful. So glad we gave this place another chance!
To whom it may concern:
My wife and I are new to the area and decided to try St.Clair Winery & Bistro. We ordered the cheese platter minus the chocolate and crackers, we were quite taken aback when our platter arrived to find three different cheeses cut in cubes, nine grapes and one strawberry cut into quarters along with a type of cream cheese , feta and red pepper combination. We also ordered the edamame simply with salt, no glaze and no lemon. There happened to have been a stout which the bartender was pleased to give us a taste, we did order two as it was delicious. So sorry not to have given a better review but being a winery we thought the cheese platter and the presentation left a lot to be desired.
Best place for having drinks. specialty of this place is wine, they have all flavors available in all range of wines. food is very delicious here, PERFECT AMBIANCE and a very good crowd. Simply amazing place.
All I can say is WOW!!! We had my daughter's high school graduation party on the East Patio with over 60 guests. When we first arrived to set up the party decorations, Javier (the manager that night) came out to introduce himself to us and made sure his staff only followed direction from the hosts of the party. Javier also took the time to answer any questions we had and made sure his staff was attentive to our needs. The staff was amazing and extremely vigilant with everything. The food was amazing as well. Our guest kept commenting on how good everything tasted.
I will definitely look to this venue for further celebrations and recommend them to everyone who is looking!
Thank you so much Javier and staff for making our daughter's graduation party a success!!!
Cool place to meet and catch up with coworkers. I will be bringing family next time. Atmosphere is similar to a cafe in San Jose I loved.
Have been there many times. The food and service are consistently of a high quality and the prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it.
Give me warm bread and butter and I'm sold! We went here for our anniversary last weekend and enjoyed a great meal and exceptional service. Our server was 10/10 and we both made each other try one another's dishes because they were both so good. Will be coming back!
Worst service ever! I waited over a half hour for my drink and water. I finally left after waiting another 40 minutes for a simpler appetizer. It was never like this when it was St. Claire's. Now you can't even pronounce the stupid name.
St Clair’s has now become D.H. Lescombes and while I think it is fascinating that they are going back to their roots I am disappointed. Stopped in to get my regular wines on flight or by the bottle in the restaurant while enjoying food and those wines are no longer available. Tried some other wines and they were not in comparison at all with the Mimbres Wines that are favorites of St. Clair’s. Most likely will not be returning since the wine was part of the experience and the ones offered now are not good at all. Pretty sad about the change. Should have kept St Clair’s wine options on the menu. Those are the good wines. Service wasn’t great either. Not helpful in any way. Plus they didn’t pay attention while we were there.
I had the watermelon salad with scrimp and wife had cob. Both were served promptly. Our waiter was there frequently.
Good food and good prices. Our new favorite lunch spot.
I really liked this place service is amazing and there were quite a few of us in the group. Food was really good I had the New Mexican pasta dish very good and there meatloaf tastes really good too. I will definitely be going back 👍👍👍👍👍
Great local wine, food, music and service on the West Patio. Very chill scene for hanging out on the weekends, especially in the summer heat with the fan misters running! Kudos to Jacob our server, nice lion tat bro!
The place is lovely. I love the antique style furniture too. The French onion soup was delicious. The peach tea was delightful. The pot roast was tasty. The pasta New Mexico was so good, the chicken was infused with the flavor of green chile.
Nice name change from St. Clair to the family owner name. Good food and fine wine from their own New Mexico vineyard. Convenient to Old Town. Parking not great
Good meal but what French restaurant serves meals without rolls or other bread? Answer- none except this one. It was a private dinner party so maybe the hosts didn’t order rolls or bread but they shouldn’t have to pay extra for bread/rolls. All the diners in the restaurant had baguettes and they did not pay extra.
We ran into this great Restaurant via a gift card two weeks ago and have returned twice since..... just to see in it weren't a fluke. NO FLUKE here - we have 3 service dogs and trying to find a great restaurant with great food, great service who accommodates these pups is difficult. The food is excellent, the service is good and the management team leads the pace well on a busy night. It's for sure our fam's new place.
First time visit and will definitely come back! Amazing atmosphere, food and staff. Was an amazing experience. Thoroughly enjoyed my birthday celebration.
10/1/19: All the staff were wonderful! They were so nice, friendly, and welcoming. The food tasted great! The beer and wine were tasty. The ambience was relaxed. The men's room was clean and stylish. Easy short walk from my Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town at 800 Rio Grande Blvd. I highly recommend eating at this winery restaurant. I will be back.
Quality on food has gone down. Always order either Pot Roast or Meatloaf. The meat loaf always seems half cold and half warm. Sunday brunch hours. Get the feeling that it's not fresh and from previous night. Friends wanted to order from the daily lunch menu and waiter said it was Monday to Friday. Another table had a meatloaf sandwich. So Felt like the waiter was new or lazy. I think lazy. He did offer samples of wine.
Good wine pairing dinner. Some items were cold. Roasted endive. Service always gracious! Lots of fun.
We have been there several times and enjoy the food and atmosphere. Good wines from a New Mexico local vineyard. Classy place but not to the point of being overly fancy. We enjoy the outdoor poarch We will go back.
